American Vision Windows

My experience with American Vision Windows(AVW) was for the most part very favorable.I selected AVW based on media advertisements and subsequent meetings with AVW Senior Project Manager Steve Huffman who was both personable and informative and a good sales type as well. My particular project was fairly large encompassing replacement of 18 windows and 6 doors including a double window conversion to French Doors. AVW is not a bargain basement Window Installation Company. Their cost, although relatively high, was competetive with similar Window Installation Companies I was considering. Having previous experience with other home improvement projects, I was concerned with not only the quality of work, but the follow-up service that is so imperative in a project of this scope where their is apt to be problems or issues that require resolution after the fact. As anticipated, their were some issues regarding installation of a few doors that required attention and correction. Jason Castell the Servce Manager for AVW could not have been more cooperative in attending to and making certain that all issues were taken care of to my satisfaction in a timely manner.That in it self validated that I did indeed make the correct decision in selecting AVW. Of course it also should be stated that AVW did a commendable job in the overall installlation. . more

From start to finish, salesperson to installers, the quality of work was beyond Excellent. They guide through the whole job. The salesperson explained everything giving options and the pro's and con's of everything (very honest) with reminder e-mails after you made your order until your order is complete letting you know that they have not forgotten about you, to making the installation day totally convenient for you and the installers were efficient, they cleaned up through the whole process and before you know it they are done. Follow up calls afterward to be sure you were completely satisfied. I felt like I was looked out for instead of being taken advantage of. I have seen other companies completed work and it does not compare to the high quality product and look of completion I got. I would recommend them highly to anyone looking for new windows! more

We had saved a long time to buy new windows and had checked out several companies--favoring those that were located in our area. American Vision ""made us an offer we couldn't refuse"" with a combination of value and quality. \r \r They did exactly what they promised and installation went like a dream. The entire house was finished the same day and things were left in good shape. It was an excellent experience. And we have already noticed how much quieter it is, and how the temperature is much more stable. I would certainly recommend them to friends and family. more

OK, first off i want everyone to know that its a shame reviews only offers up to 5 Stars. This Company Rocks! We bought a house that really needed new windows and doors. I went to Trade shows, called up at least 5 different companies to get quotes. They were all about the same, give or take a few dollars. Someone told me to check out American Vision Windows. I made an appt. and checked out their showroom. I was there for less than one hour and got the best service i could ask for. Now for what you all really want to know... I saved over $4,000 by just going in and looking. They didn't pressure me. They didn't even try and sell me. They just showed me their windows and saved me $$$. Lots of $$$. Cut to 3 years later. I decide to add square footage to my house. I need 3 more windows and 2 more Sliding glass doors. I didn't even hesitate. I ordered the sizes. They still came out and measured them for me just to make sure i didn't make a mistake. I had the windows and doors in no time. I cant say enough about American Vision Windows. No wonder why they are growing so fast. They are affordable and the customer service is Outstanding! Oh yea, i just remembered something else. I had 2 windows and 1 sliding glass door get stuck on me. These specific windows were ones i later ordered and were installed by my contractor and not American Vision. I called American Vision Windows and they came out to make sure it wasn't a factory defect. It wasn't. It was installed improperly by my contractor. Guess what? American Vision Windows fixed the issues anyway and never charged me. Who does that? American Vision Windows is the most honest, trustworthy and reliable company i have ever dealt with. I can go on and on but you get the picture. Like i said. This Company Rocks! more

I love my new windows! I just wish the customer service was a little better. We went to the showroom and really appreciated the brief education on windows our salesperson gave us. We liked the price, so we went ahead and signed the contract. The contractor who came out to re-measure (we had done our own measurements) was very knowledgeable; we had to make some changes, so he left a message for our salesperson. Long story short, it was almost a week later before he got back to us because he was out of town. I don't know if he was the only one that would've been able to help us or if we could've talked to someone else. It would've been nice if the salesperson had a substitute available for us. \r \r The installation was excellent. The crew covered our floors and furniture very well. All the windows were done in less than a day! Another guy was supposed to come out and finish a wall the next day (we had a window frame made smaller). My husband waited at home, but he didn't show up. It turned out that there was a scheduling error and he wouldn't be out for a few days (it was a holiday the day after). \r \r Again, I have to say that the windows are amazing -- we bought Anlin with argon gas in between and I can finally sleep without hearing my neighbors talk in their backyard. I would've given this company 5 stars if it weren't for the unexpected waiting we had to do. more

My mother had been wanting to replace her kitchen windows for years but we where hesitant because we where worried we would not find a good company. One day I heard an ad from American Vision Windows stating that the service is important to them. Along with a no tax deal they where having a decided to call them. The service was great from beginning to end. Everyone, from the person answering the phone, to the installers acted professional. My mother was so happy she had few doors replaced. I just moved two a new house and I am already preparing to replace a window and door through American Vision. I would never call any other company to have my windows and doors replaced. Great job American Vision, you followed through with your promise. more

I had American Vision Windows install 3 large windows with v groove inside my house to cover up openings from my upstairs loft looking downstairs in 2003.I was very thrilled with the end results. I ordered the windows and they were delivered and installed within a timely matter. I've had multiple compliments on the finish and have referred many of our family and friends. AVW is very professional and would do business with them anytime!!! more

We purchased a French door window for our room 3 years ago. We received great service for the very beginning. Even one of the Production Managers of the company came and took the measurements for the window himself!!!! Great Experience and very professional.\r The window is beautiful and it keeps the noise away. It also keeps the room from getting hot in the summer and cold in the winter. We couldn't be happier with this purchase. I totally recommend it. more

We purchased our windows over 10 years ago with American Vision and product is still in great standing, customer service is exceptional from point of sales to installation and have referred our 4 children and some neighbors to purchase from them with no regret. Thank you, AVW for making my condo come alive. I have a northwestern exposure and as long as I have lived there (23 years) have enjoyed the sunsets. However, I had the original aluminum windows which shook in the wind (had to put a sock in it to sleep) and the screens, well you can imagine how sad they were (I had to patch one where the cat went through it). So, I had been listening to the commercials on the radio (KFI, KABC, KFWB) for about two years and finally decided to take the plunge, after urging from my friends to do so, and call AVW. I got an appointment for Dean to come out after I got home from work, at 7:00 pm, and had my friends attend too. We got a lesson in windows. We were like school kids for an hour looking at all the new toys we could have. Well, Dean gave me a very good deal on living room and bedroom windows, and a balcony sliding door. I chose the tan vinyl.\r \r So then the second measure appointment with the boss came up and my friends were there for that too. We were so excited because we were getting closer to having windows that did a sunset justice. About one month later my windows had been built (I had to have a custom patio sliding door) and an installation date for a Saturday was set to accommodate my work schedule. The four installers arrived at 8:30 am and were done by 2:30. It was a major job since every window in the condo was being replaced at the same time. Alex and Juan, excuse me, but can't remember the other two fellows names, were so professional. Just getting the new windows up to the second level of my condo was a job unto itself. I tell you, they figured out where to unload them and raise them up for installation. \r \r I was very glad to see the old windows go. They didn't go without a fight, however, it took a lot of heavy equipment to remove them. It took two days for my cat to speak to me again after the disruption, but he sure likes looking out over his kingdom through the new windows (and so do I). After the installers had packed up (and boy do they have a lot of equipment to deal with) and cleaned up (my condo was cleaner after they left for sure) I treated my friends to dinner at the Marina. Fun was had by all and we celebrated AVW doing such a fine job for us.\r \r I recommended AVW to my neighbors who dropped by to witness some of the process. Good job, AVW!! more

We contracted with American Vision Windows to replace all the window coverings in our home and we have lots of windows and sliding doors. They carry a wide selection of products and have a very well designed showroom. We decided to use a combination of Hunter-Douglas vertical and horizontal blinds with a large selection of materials and fabrics. We narrowed color selections down and American Vision then arranged for the Hunter-Douglas rep and AV sales consultant to come to our home to assure the colors fit our decor. Absolutely excellent service. Pricing was far better than the Big box stores (Home Depot - Lowe's) or any other provider we contacted.\r \r The window coverings were delivered and installed timely by courteous, well trined staff.\r \r More importantly, 4 years after installation, we began having some difficulty with one of the vertical blinds on a sliding door. The problem seemed to be with the installation. We called American Vision and they (Tracy Brough) sent someone out and they fixed the problem. Four years after install. That's good service and that's why we will use American Vision again and again. more

We recently contracted with American Vision Windows to replace all my windows and doors, including a new addition. I opted for the Anlin Windows in the Queen Anne design with all the window features. Don Adams and the AVW staff felt like family, everyone I dealt with including the very capable installation crew, were eager to address my questions & concerns and make my experience as smooth as possible. I've recommended AVW to all of my family and friends, and they have experienced the same personalized experience. As for our new windows and doors, Wow! they exceed all of our expectations, our heating/cooling bills have been drastically reduced, and they are a breeze to maintain. Before you buy any window or door upgrades, give Don at AVW a chance to show you their wonderful products and great deals. They are honest, honorable, and their to back-up their products and workmanship. more

In 'contractor country' there's often a big gap between promise and execution of a job.\r American Vision Windows is different. They actually care to give the best experience throughout. From meeting the sales person, the measuring, all the way through the follow up after installation--everything went like a breeze.\r I found American Vision Windows through a referral from friends, and can honestly say that we're very pleased with everything.\r Now of course we want to replace the other windows also. more

To say that our experience with American Vision Windows was five star would be an understatement. Every person representing AVW, from Steve (sales rep) to Mike (the person who measured our windows) to the installers was extremely professional and courteous. AVW estimated two days for the installation of our Anlin windows and that's all it took!! We can't say enough about the installers, though. They knew what to do and did it with precision, neatness (that made my wife very happy), and when each window was installed, they cleaned up after themselves. We couldn't have asked for a nicer crew of men. The windows have improved the look of our house and the temperature regulation, not to mention the lack of noise from outside. WOW!!! What I difference. I am very, very please with my new windows... The installation was pain free. The crew was very helpful, especially Alex & Neilsen. They took charge and handled everything in my home, cover furniture and old window holes, so that the cleanup was very easy. I now can open my windows and let the outside environment in. This has made such a big difference in the quality of my life. I should have made this upgrade sooner...\r \r Thank You again for your professionalism and I would definitely refer American Vision to everyone considering replacing windows in their home. First, let me say this would be a 5 star review, but I really have nothing to compare it to, so.. 4 star. I still think this place is great for what I experienced!\r \r After hearing the commercial on KFI for the umptenth time, I finally decided ""Why not!?"" and gave American Vision Windows a call and left a message on their voicemail. I got a phone call the same day on when they could send someone over for an estimate.\r \r Cybil came by on-time by my standards when estimating LA traffic and even had this pretty nice demonstration unit. I found her to be non-pushy and I liked what she had to say and the pricing just seemed right for what I was getting. After about an hour of chatting and seeing how the Anlin windows operated and looked, we shook hands and I made out a small deposit check.\r \r It might've been about 2 weeks (?) and someone came out to do the official measurements. I wasn't home, but my husband was and he found them to be professional and quick. Wrote the 2nd check to get the windows ordered.\r \r I'd guess about 4 weeks later I got a phone call asking me if they could come and install all the windows the NEXT DAY. I was pretty surprised at that! I took it, and everyone showed up on time and finished in one day (I only had 4 windows + 1 slider).\r \r The reason I waited so long to write this review was because during the install, the installers noticed a small defect in one of the windows, and I was waiting to see how that replacement went before I got in on a final review. Well, I can tell you that the installers put in the order for a new window, and about 2 weeks after that, Lucas came in and replaced the window by himself in about 5 minutes!\r \r Now, about the windows. I love them. I live along a road that has a 24 hour bus running all night/day long (24 hours duh!), and the newly found silence is something I had no real idea I was missing. It is truly something that amazes me every day and every weekend when I wake up to silence! 6 years with all that noise, now I'm getting used to it being quiet.\r \r I had a faulty installed sliding glass door, and this new door is just fantastic. It slides with the push of a finger, oh and the installers put this nice trim up around the siding, something I was not expecting and it looked great. No more drafts. The bedrooms stay much cooler after the AC has been on. My only complaint is that it keeps the heat from my shower in the bedroom too! But, that is only good news when it comes to the winter time.\r \r Long enough review really. TL;DR version is that I recommend going with this place if you just want to get some great windows and not have to worry or hassle when things go wrong. You shake hands, you pay, you wait a few weeks, you get fancy new windows that block sound and retain cool and heat. 'Nuff said! more

I had 19 windows installed on 7-7-2012. The windows are GREAT! I had louver windows in kitchen and living room, if you know what those are, that were installed back in the 60's. I loved everything about those louver windows except the cold of winter poured through them and anyone could jimmy them open. I had gotten a quote from an Arizona company, boy, what a run around and not organized at all!! Don from American Vision Windows came out one day for the quote and sold me on some great windows. I did not want the white windows, I wanted the beige color and they could order them for me. My neighbor just had new windows installed last year, her window's are not the quality or was there the attention to details of instillation that mine were and she paid quite a bit more. The installers from AVW were professional, personable, efficient, friendly, on time and hard working. There were a couple pieces of furniture that I could not move myself and they took care of it for me. I also have 5 CHICKENS running around the back and side of the house that Cesar and the others scooted around with ease! Ryan and his crew said I was on the top of the list of customers because I bought them pizza and ice cream! They definitively earned it, 19 windows in 6 hours. I am very pleased with the company and I am going to have my texture coating done by them. I can't say enough about the company, thanks Mark and Brian 95.5 for the commercial. If you are looking for a fair price and great quality and installation call AVW! I am a very happy customer. THANKS GUYS! more

After hearing about this company for years on KFI radio in Los Angeles, I decided to give them a try. Our home is a classic colonial built in 1957 with over 40 large single-hung windows, all of them with multiple individual panes of glass and glazing. After trying to re glaze a few of them due to wear and tear and sun damage, I knew I could not possibly keep up with the amount of windows and panels I would need to do (about 350 of them). Reluctantly we decided to replace the original windows and called AVW in Simi Valley. Dean, our project manager, was great, very patient and knew his product. Yes, he recommended some windows over others that they carried, but anyone who thinks this is wrong is plain uninformed. How would you like to buy the wrong window just because it was less expensive than the right window for your home and area? I know I can spend less, that's not brain surgery. I needed Dean to explain to me why I will not be happy purchasing window A vs. window B. I want to never have to call him back and say, ""I hate these windows, the noise reduction is not what I thought it would be, and they seem kinda cheap"". Its his job to get me into the right window for my area, tastes, requirements and budget. After all, I set my budget, NOT Dean. Our home is a Leave it to Beaver-type home, so we were not going to just buy the low-end window and hope it works out. Dean explained the differences in price, durability, ratings, noise reduction, and honestly compared all brands that they had to offer. I can buy a $200.00 window on my own, I don't need a window company for that. If someone thinks this is bad hype, then they may as well go to Home Depot or Lowe's for their windows. It was OUR decision to go with Anlin, NOT theirs. All we asked for are honest comparisons and we got that from Dean. And the installation crew was fantastic! Very professional and extremely competent. They cleaned up as if they were never even there. They were done way faster than I thought they would be and the new windows look great. One issue that did come up was the grid pattern on two windows were incorrect. The single grid should have been vertical and it came horizontal. I mentioned it to the installer (after he installed it...my mistake for not catching it) and he looked at it and agreed, yes, it would look much better your way. No problem we can fix it, would I like to not pay for it until its taken care of? I said not a problem, I trust you guys. When I called Dean to let him know I told him this: ""Dean, when Mike came to measure the windows he specified the grid direction incorrectly because he labeled it 1x2 instead of 2x1...or whatever. I don't want to have to pay any service charge because the error was yours""..his immediate response was ""Oh no, I don't care who messed up, you or us, it doesn't matter, we will replace those windows no charge"". To me, making mistakes is not the problem but its how you fix the problem that matters. I am planning to complete the rest of the home as soon as we can, and I will call on AVW again. Plus I have already recommended them to friends as well. Everyone at the Simi Valley office has been great. Great company, believe the hype! By the way, if you don't sit for AT LEAST an hour learning about your different options during the presentation, you WON'T make an informed decision. I sat with Dean for close to two hours, and it was time well-spent. more
