STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! I purchased a series of services only because their contract said you can get a refund if no services are provided. After reading dismal nation-wide reviews, I requested a refund. After 7 months, the company still has my money. I've been given the run-around, being promised the money will be here ""any day"". You cannot speak directly to a manager and they haven't returned my many calls.\r \r I will be filing a complaint with the attorney general of MI. more

I had laser hair removal here and love the results!! It saves so much time in the morning now I can run out of the house in dresses without having to shave my legs. The staff was nice and the location was clean. I'd definitely recommend it to a friend! more

I was contemplating going to this place. Then I read the review posted by ilvan. \r \r This is absolutely disgusting! I will never go to this place, I've heard bad reviews about it anyways. \r \r The part that I don't understand is how a "Manager", never mind a "WOMAN" can just drop her drawers in a place of work. Disgusting!!!!! How humiliating too!!!! Never in my life would I hire or KEEP a manager that would do such things! \r \r Huge thumbs down. This place should be ashamed! more

Couldn't find a review anywhere on Botox injections at this place so I figured for the first time ever, I'll write a review. If you research American Laser Centers, the reputation is horrible. A friend referred me to this particular place for Botox because the price is excellent so I figured I would at least show up and see what they have to offer. Dr. Flashner does all the injections himself. I walked in and I have to say at first glance, I did question the cleanliness of the place. The carpets were stained, there was no receptionist area or receptionist at all so you just kinda walk in and wait there for someone to notice you which was really weird. Also, the chair where I got my injections was completely ripped open. Regardless of the look, I didn't run away and sat down with the Doctor to discuss what I was looking for. Despite the reputation online, neither Dr. Flashner nor the staff were pushy at all. They didn't try to sell me everything under the sun. They made a few recommendations on things I could do to help my skin then moved on to what I was there to discuss, Botox. I felt no pressure at all This was my first time receiving the injections and I was extremely nervous. Dr. Flashner calmed me down and really made me feel comfortable. He listened to what I was looking for and told me exactly what I could expect. He didn't rush me and answered all my questions before even thinking about making the injections. It has been two weeks since I was there and my face looks great. I will absolutely go back when the time comes for another go. Dr. Flashner was professional, knowledgeable and an over all good guy who knows what he is doing. more

Worst experience ever! I used to go to the branch in Brighton and now moved to Newbury, MA. I did not see any improvement yet. I had skin burns on my first 3 sessions. They changed the laser for me and I have not seen any hair reduction in the treated sites yet. I keep getting treated by different staff members at different laser settings. The last technician said that they had the wrong setting and she claimed that I will see difference soon and I have not. The worst thing is that they charted sites I have not received treatment for in order to take my deposit money. Please be extremely careful as they would do anything in order to take your money. They also dare to say that they have a photo for the site the claim I got treatment for! Stay away from this center. more

Doesn't WORK AT ALL.. After spending more than 12,000 all I can say is that it doesn't work, after you think the hair is gone, it starts to grow back again and even harder. more

I started with Laser Hair removal and IT DOESN""T WORK, only 40% of the hair stopped growing and after 2 months later of not doing treatmeant all the hair started to grow again. Cons: Expensive, painfull, and laser hair removal doesn't work more

I have been coming to this clinic for microdermabrasion and velashape treatments. I love this place! I receive ""Ritz-Carlton Treatment"" every time I am there. The treatments as well as the attitudes of Katie Sheehan (Manager) and all the staff are helping me with my self esteem and confidence. Everytime I leave I feel better on the inside as well as on the outside. more

I was told when I signed up that a doctor was on site from time to time - this is partly true because the OWNER is a doctor, but he is purely a business man and he does not see patients. I was physically burned at my last session and now I'm waiting for someone at Amer Laser to call back with a ""doctor referral."" The staff is unprofessional and obviously lacks proper training in laser hair removal. It's also very difficult to get an appointment - I get the feeling they are intentionally trying to use up my contract time and then ask for more money to complete the treatments. I agree with the previous poster below Cheryl. I also have been going to ALC in Peabody for the past 5yrs to have my upper lip lasered. My first packaged expired last year so I was conned into buying another package with a 2year guarantee and some sort of so called discount to remove the hairs that were not removed from my 20 other treatments! First off every time I go to get my treatment I am treated by a different technician every time! They are not nurses either...They are just licensed technicians. Some of them are incompetent and don't listen to your complaints about the hairs that keep growing back. The excuse is that it's hormonal and that's why it takes so long! The girls in there are fake and act like you are their best friend just to sell you more treatments that don't even work! Please don't fall into the scam I did. I've spent over $2000 on my upper lip and there are still about 50% of hairs that keep growing back. more

that is an american laser technition who wrote that. the girls act nice to get you comfortable in purchasing packages. they get commission on everything they sell. the hair removal takes 3 -4 times more treatments than they say. i have had 18 treatments on my legs and 25 on my lip and have 50 percent "reduction" only as they call it. what that means is the hair is still there it grows slower but i still have hair and still have to shave. i was promised PERMANENT hair removal with the guarentee and didn't get it i paid close to 4,200 dollars. now they won't keep treating me with out more money because my 2 year "guarentee" period is over. the hair never left so they say when it comes back they will remove it but it don't go in the 6 treatments people!! Don't be scammed. the technicians are cosmetologist type people not doctors or nurses too. a nurse rarely reviews the files and i'm not sure why they even take pictures because they never look at them to discuss the hair removal process more

I have been a client at American Laser Centers since about 04', you might ask why I am still a client-I love the staff and services they have to offer. I am hair free thanks to them head to toe! Once I completed my hair removal I ended up signing up for additional skin treatments and body treatments (all on the girls recommendations). The girls were constantly telling me about all of their specials and services and at first, I was like give it a rest, I thought they just wanted my money! Then I realized these employees are passionate about their services and the company. I started off with one additional service and now I do them all. No one pressured me to do anything, I made the decision on my own and I am glad I did. I read all the reviews on the company and was horrified but then I decided I would make difference and share my experience. I hope that this helps when you are searching for a place to go, it is not often people share good experiences on a blog typically it is everyone sharing something bad to bash a business-keep that in mind. Lastly I have recommended a ton of my friends and they are happy too, receiving effective treatments and good customer service got to this place you will be pleased and the girls there are great. more

do not use there services. not only are they aweful at what they do. but they also scam you to no end. katie assured me that i would be able to get a refund on the package i bought but since she trick me into having a treatment the same day i bought the package. they charged me the full price of one treatment and not the package price. so i paid 1200 for unlimited appointment. and when i got a refund they charged me 350 for the one appointment. dont do it. there are much better places you can get treatments. check out centers in danvers. they actually know what they r doing!!! stay away!! more

I had the same exact experience as ""ilvann"" and ""kaykaydoo"" did- pushy, unresponsive, terrible service and I'm also going to end up in a legal battle with them. Katie has amazing skills to coerce people into using their ""$300"" gift certificate on a couple-thousand- dollar procedures. I felt totally pressured and tricked into the whole deal and now face paying $3,200.00 for something I'm not going to have done in order to not wreck my credit. ALC will be seeing me in court very very soon!!! Pros: The girls are all very nice- but they are fake and you realize it as soon as you sign the contract and leave. Cons: They are one big scam, you will regret it. I have had not one positive experience with ALC more

So, after reading the many reviews about this company I was skeptical to attend a free consultation at the American Laser Centers of Peabody. However, seeing as I did enter myself into a drawing at a bridal show (as I entereed into everything) I figured what did I have to lose. There was nothing stopping me from entering in the first place, it was a chance to win something. I felt bummed out when I read sevral reviews that everyone was a winner but when you really think about it who cares it was a chance to save money and an oppurtunity to look into somehting I have always wanted to do. I walked in the door and was very nervous of being attacked by the manager who was portrayed as less than apealling. Suprisingly the enviornment was very inviting there were several girls who went out of there way to welcome me. Then I met the manager, she was extremely bubbly but I did not find this tacky at all. She was people person, and it was apperant she felt strongly about the company, their services and her staff. She was persistant in signing me up with the package do to time sensitive gift certificates, which was fine! Who cares she was giving me a great deal and making me happy I was in for treatment that day. I was overwhelmed but glad I decided to have the treatment. The lady who did the treatment was very precise about the procedure and I felt, caring for my comfort when I was with her. The place was clean, and I am sure the room I had treatment in could have been cleaner or nicer but I was able to look past this as I got a great deal and the staff was great. I would recommend this place to anyone and I was very dissapointed when I read all of the negative reviews ( keeping in my mind there are a lot of locations for the company) I can only speak from personal experience in Peabody. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!! My personal experience was at the peabody location. I met with Katie the center manager. She was tacky, condesending, and pushy. During my consultation she inquired what I was interested in and when I said my bikini area she proceeded to drop her pants and show me her bare crotch!!! The center itself is gross!! While in treatment there was hair (not mine) all over the floor, boxes in the room, and Katie interupted my treatment not once but twice!!! The second time she came in the treatment room without asking while I was having my bikini lasered trying to sell me another package. She told me there was a ""gift certificate"" that was available and I cold use it but I had to do it right now. This is a sales tactic they use to sell people. Everyone wins a $300 g.c. and all the rest are fake too! I realize I must sound a bit over the top because I did have services there, but I was coerced into doing so. They will not give you a refund of any sort even if there was no services performed. I was told by Katie, and the Anne the district manager that all sales were final. Interestingly my lawer contacted the corporate office in Michigan and they said this was not the case. I was able to recieve a refund minus %10 for a deposit. I have heard multiple experiences like mine from people who went to Brighton ,Andover ,and Arlington. STAY AWAY!!!! Pros: Nothing....although the technician was very sweet, she no longer works ther though Cons: EVERYTHING, Especially KATIE MACLEOD!!! more

I've been getting hair removal here and am quite happy with the results. I also get microdermabrasion and that's great too, my skin feels so soft. The staff is great there too, especially Jaqui. She's always so pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. She makes the time fly during my appointments and always puts me at ease. They have a really good referal programs also where you get a big discount if you refer a friend or family member. It seems like they always want to help you and make things affordable, which is really nice. I have a friend that goes there and is happy with it also. Pros: plenty of parking, good hours more
