We got a floor from American Flooring 3 years ago. It cost about 5 thousand dollars with labor and everything. It started falling apart very soon in and it practically floats. There are sections in the floor that have separated and are two inches wide. I fought to get someone to listen. The manager finally came out and I told them that I need a warranty because my husband is a wheelchair. There was a ten year warranty that they gave us, in writing. The guy came in and said, "Wow, that's expensive." And then he came up with different excuses, like he blamed the wheelchair and said that the carpet wasn't pinned down. Then they said they would sell us new stuff at a cost of $4,000. It took three months for them to get it because they ordered the wrong thing. The guy that helped was really nice and he said that we'd have to wait until tomorrow, because the girl who did the ordering wasn't in that day. The installer said that he was starting that day, but American Flooring wouldn't sell him the flooring. It cost us $4,000 more because of their original mistake. I'm just as mad at the manufacturer of the flooring. I have been talking to others who went through the same thing. We ordered carpet from American Flooring a couple of years ago that they said would hold up under a wheelchair, and threads started coming up. Fortunately, the guy who had to come out five times for this problem would solder the threads for us. He was getting just as fed up with the carpeting as we were. We want good, dependable stuff because my husband is in a wheelchair, and we did not get it here.
