DO NOT JOIN! These guys will price gouge and lock you into years long contracts that you can't get out of - even if you have a legitimate reason to void the contract, they'll charge you $100 just to leave! There are far better gyms for FAR cheaper. more

I joined court Jester,and to say nothing more it is a basic gym.I wanted to work out for 1 day there to see how it is and i was charged around $15.You think it would be free like american fitness.American fitness membership fee's are uncomprehendable.Less then $10 a day,$90 a year.And $50 for a year of tanning and 40 bucks for an hour message.I admit the gym is old and alot of the equipment is outdated and not funtioning properly.They recently added some new equipment.I admitt the locker rooms are not the greatest and i see people complaining that the lockers are small.How big of a locker do you need.You put you gym bag in there and a few other things and you go workout.Maybe the people complaining about the lockers being to small are upset that they can't hang there 3 piece suit in it,i feel really terrible for you!!!!!!! It an old gym and they do keep it as clean as possible,Everytime i am there there is a cleaner taking care of the bathroom.And people have the nerve to complain about pee on the toilet seats.I guess you feel the cleaner should wait for everyone to finish taking care of there business and wipe the toilet seats.They have plently of spray bottle cleaner around.Wipe it down yourself.I could go on and on about some of the ridicoulos complaints i;m reading about american fitness.Do the people that are serious about bodybuilding and go some place else. more

Their equipment is old but they have a ton of stuff. The main problem with this gym is how dirty it is. The men's bathroom is beyond disgusting. Pee all over the floor,men's hair all over the sink from shaving, and pee all over the toilet seats. I really don't understand why they don't clean the bathrooms on a more regular basis. Clearly what they are doing isn't enough. On top of that their evening staff isn't the most friendly people. more

*Please note.. If there was a choice for Zero Stars I would have chosen that. This gym would be fine if you enjoy dated equipment, dirty showers, rude staff, and paying more than you agreed to. At first I thought... okay so maybe it hasn't been remodeled since the 60s but at least its only $10 per month and it includes group exercise classes. But any class worth taking there is at least an extra $5 per class. They continually advertise new equipment that never actually shows up and the tanning beds are falling apart. There are also pictures of their anorexic members posted on the wall just to make you feel motivated to sign up for personal training classes. NEVER EVER LET THIS COMPANY HAVE YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO!!! When I went to cancel the membership I signed a form and was told that I could keep working out until the 17th(since I would be charged through this date anyway) About 4 months later I noticed that I was still being charged every month. So I went in again to cancel and was not apologized to but instead required to pay $40 to cancel the membership. I will still be charged for another month of membership(since ""their system is not capable of stopping the charge"") But somehow I am also not allowed to work out for this extra month that I am being charged for. This fitness center stands for that saying ""You get what you pay for""! You pay $10 a month thats what you get, staff that treats you like crap and NO customer service! more

I was a member for 3 years and worked out every other day. It was cheap and was pretty much what I needed to get started. After a while, little things started to get to me (like the lack of full sized lockers) and as they dropped their rates further they attracted a wide variety of characters (several of them slobs in the locker room and kids who cannot complete a sentence without using the f-word, and aerobic class music so loud and obnoxious that I could hear it in the shower...) Anyway, when I decided to go to another (nicer/more expensive) gym closer to my office they had the audacity to charge me $20 to terminate my member ship (after 3 years as a member!). No attempt to keep me (not that I would have stayed) just charged me $20 bucks. I was paying more than most of the folks they were getting with super cheap deals. So I'm not going back. They didn't care if I left (so long as they got my $20) and I Iike my new gym better. You get what you pay for. more

The sheer number of machines guarantees that you'll never have to wait to continue your workout. There are classes available for both aerobic exercise, and to learn how to properly use weight training equipment if you're not familiar with it. The women's fitness center is smaller and bit more comforable for me personally, though I'm not adverse to the main gym. Changing areas and showers are clean. Staff is helpful, and group classes look like a blast, though I haven't tried one yet. Open 24 hours during the week. And all this for only $10/month! Their staff is horrible. Two weeks before I signed up, I INJURED myself and provided proof to their management. Even with proof, I ask their management if I could cancel my membership because I couldn't exercise and they refused repeatedly until I ended up disputing the credit card charge. Their owner is *nowhere* to be found, and I was even told that contacting him was ""not going to happen"". Go to another gym if you can. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemies. There is one particular employee that works there by the name of Ray Wilson who treats his customers like garbage. From what was witnessed, he treats his co-workers just as badly. He made a mistake and refused to apologize to me, the customer, and instead demanded that I leave the premesis. Is THIS how someone lets a business be run?? It makes you wonder what the owner is like if someone like that is allowed to be at the front desk running this establishment. I have been working out at AFF for several years now. I consider myself an astute shopper and have checked out other fitness centers in the area. American Fitness is by far the best. They have so much more equipment than any other fitness center in town and their Yoga, aerobics classes,chilcare, tanning and massage therapist are all tops (I use them all). Throw in the fact that they have wonderful people working there, have a womans only fitness center and are open 24 hours and all of this for only $10 per month (did I mention you can cancel at any time?) and you just ca'nt go wrong. Check it out- I'm pretty sure they will give you a free trial mem. period to do so (they did for me). Pros: Very large, clean, tremendous amount of equipment, great instructors more

American Fitness is by far the ares best Fitness Center. Apparently one of their competitors is trying to bash them, thats too bad. I highly reccomend the place. Only $10 per month, the place is enourmous and always clean and open 24 hours and their staff is the best, very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable people. Check it out! Pros: 24 kours, $10 per month, huge, clean, more

Title says it all- if you want a friendly fitness facility go here. Caters to everyone- from newbies to power lifters to body builders. Most people leave the attitude at the door- if you can't do that go elsewhere. more
