This company should win a prize for the biggest price-gougers I've ever run into. Just heard that they charged $5.05 a gallon to one of their long time customers! I don't think there is any rhyme or reason for the way their prices are charged. I guess if they think they can get away with the highest price that is what they will charge. \r \r We left them after 30 years and they could have cared less about trying to keep us as customers. Really lousy way to run a business! more

Why, when the national average price for propane is $3.07 a gallon, is G & K Propane charging $3.81????????\r \r Guess the answer might be - because they can! I suppose they have to pay for their new billing system. more

G&K is a solid company. Propane is not cheap and that drives most of my own negativity. I'd have to agree with the earlier poster that the office staff is less than customer friendly, but they do their job. \r I get most frustrated by the lack of planning. I can't count on the truck being by on a certain day, unless I manage the gauge myself and call myself. I'd like to know that someone will be by to check to see if I need propane or not and I'd like to be able to take less than a full tank. At $500-600 for a fill, it is a somewhat traumatic experience when the truck comes, oh say at the end of a month, and the bank card takes a huge hit like that. With a little predictability, I could better manage the account so that it wouldn't take so much of a single bite. \r \r Not sure about the continued rental charge. I have now paid for 5 years.....Seems strange to me. \r \r But they provide us a basic service and there are quirks to it. Sooooo..... more

As i read the other reviews, i was wondering if I had been dealing with the same company. Those that answer the phone have always been helpful and courteous.\r Propane always seems to be expensive. We have been lucky to fill each year in the summer time when prices are the lowest. We pay a little extra to get a bigger tank so we can fill once a year. more

Competitive prices regardless its propane and its always expensive and probably always be. The drivers have always been absolutely great and definetely well trained and very knowledgable. For those who complain about time and wishing they can work around your schedule they have a specific route to follow each day and to go off course cost more money so if you need propane then you will have to wait you should of called before you ran out which is very dangerous to run completely out anyway get put on a schedule and then they will check it so you don't run out. The management was only great when Bruce was running this place after he stopped running the whole place thats when management went down hill and never has been the same. Can't complain about the drives they are excellent!!! more

I have had a number of le phone conversations with one individual in the office who is terribly obtuse. She is the most uncooperative individual I have encountered at any business, ever! Now I make sure to call when she is not there. All this because we work nights at the hospital and sleep in the daytime. She just wouldn't help with arranging for an afternoon delivery, however, the DRIVER always cooperated, and is just great. G&K should get the drivers in to the office to train the office staff on how to deal with customers in a positive and helpful way.Better yet, get rid of that woman, she is obviously determined to always be right, and make we stupid customers know it. People like that are hard to change. more

At first I was worried they would not get to me in time for my family to spend x-mas at our vacation house in the hills of Yucca Valley near western hills estates. Since the storm dropped almost two feet of snow on everyone up there, it was tough to get around unless you had 4 wheel drive. Long story short, a leak was discovered by the driver of the refueling truck. After arranging the repair over the phone, we got up there to find the tank was leveled, the regulator and line were replaced and the valves re-sealed. All pilots lit with no issues and everything is working great ! I did verbally abuse the girl that answers the phone when it was questionable that they may not get there before x-mas but the repair person, I believe his name was Bob, assured me it would be operational. My apologies to the girl who answers the phone! I haven't got the bill yet but I will probably continue to use them. more

The title is accurate! However, the delivery driver *did not know* how to light my WALL FURNACE and left me in the cold. NOT GOOD. The DRIVERS need more TRAINING... that said, the price is not competitive. Out here in Wonder Valley (desert) merchants think they can gouge.. charge whatever they want.. and they do. We are held HOSTAGE.. The only way to GET EVEN is to POST on sites like this! Beware.. Be informed.. Be a consumer advocate.\r I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. I AM FORCED TO DEAL WITH THEM.. more

When we had trouble with a very low tank, their driver took extra time to be sure that we were safe and the pilot lights in our appliances were still on. Always friendly and halpful, these people are first rate. more

Very Unsatisfied, Gas tank is not filled in timely manner when called and requested, Unreliable company, Although the truck drivers are helpful with questions and concerns. I think the upper management has issues that need resolving, I will soon be searching for another provider. more

Can't say I love them for their prices-who the heck likes to pay for propane at the rate is now. But it's just one of those necessities for soem of us. They get a 5 star rating from me for their great customer service. more
