Very Poor 9/29/2013

Fancy Wrapping for a Lousy Product. AmeriSpec inspected the home I bought in January. They use a computer for digital pictures and a to print a final report in a binder, so they LOOK professional. However, their work is very poor. After eight months, I've spent hundreds of dollars repairing things they should have caught or made up excuses for the problems. Some examples: 1) Attached to the back of the house, the main power line from the meter to the basement circuit box was buried. This is totally against code! Once I dug it out, I found most of it was almost rusted through. Cost me almost $500 to repair. The inspector couldn't have missed this! No, there wasn't any snow covering it. 2) I questioned the inspector about the living room and bedroom windows opening so hard. He said they were “frozen.” No, they are broken! The spiral guides on the sides are all missing or broken. 3) my realtor and I both questioned the fog on the master bedroom window. He said “that’s on the outside.” No, it was definitely on the inside. The entire window is still foggy. 4) The basement window did not lock, and therefore did not seal. I had to replace it right away. 5) He said the electrical outlet by the patio door just needed a GFI outlet. No, it wasn’t even wired correctly to the main box. 6) The lights below the microwave never worked, yet his report said they did. DO NOT hire these guys or you will regret it! The best experience for a first time buyer. 9/20/2013

We were first time buyers trying to buy a house. Kevin from Amerispec was really nice. He knew all the details and explained stuff. He even helped my husband learn to work a fireplace. He gave us some advice on what to do and some good tips. Kevin was really knowledgeable and we felt really comfortable because he was able to go over every point and tell us about the stuff he marked down. It was really smooth sailing because he explained a lot of stuff. If you get Kevin, you have a real professional. more

Very satisfied. 9/18/2013

We have two houses and Chris, who Amerispec sent to do the inspection, actually did the first inspection on our other house. From the way he handled everything with the first house, we knew this house was going to be inspected professionally. We knew he would be truthful with us. Chris did a very good job. If we had any questions or concerns, he was very reachable by cell phone. You can just give him a call and he'll respond. He's definitely friendly person. more

Quick, smooth, and efficient. 9/11/2013

First of all and from the get-go, Amerispec were able to schedule me for the following day when I called them. There were no problems there. They could get it done within my time frame, as well. When I arrived on the site, they were there and ready. They had a nice booklet prepared of what they had found, and a CD for all of the pictures of what they discovered. They documented everything for me. more

Informational and educational experience. 9/10/2013

Amerispec was there to do a home inspection after we put an offer on a house. So it was during the purchasing process. The inspector was there before my husband and I got there. He was very thorough in explaining the report to us. We are first time homeowners and he was very helpful answering all of our questions. We had a good experience with it. This is our first time going through this process and I would be ready to recommend it to someone else. more

Committed to excellence 7/23/2013

Amerispec is consistent and they are committed to excellence. I have been using them for home inspection and termite inspection. We have used them for multiple properties in the last 10 years and I am satisfied with most of the people they send out! more

Very professional, very well-done, and their reporting back was a tremendous asset. 7/5/2013

We were buying a home on a lake and asked Amerispec to do the home inspection. The inspector really was very diligent and very professional. He went through everything, and he gave me a binder with key issues that might come up with the house. They gave me a report that will be a good reference and come in useful. He gave me a disc with pictures on it. That was nice too. more

Great inspection 7/3/2013

Amerispec did a very good job of showing us things that worked and things we needed to look out for. He also did a very good job of going on the roof and telling that part of the roof had been replaced. He confirmed things we suspected, and there were a lot of little things that made me feel a lot more comfortable with the things we might run into with the house we are purchasing. more
