Friday night we eat out with our 7- and 8-year-old and we like to try a variety of restaurants. This is the worst Friday meal yet. All four of us left disappointed; my husband and I left in a bad mood, having spent $50 on incredible mediocrity. Especially surprising since it's really hard to ruin Italian. Amalfi's reminds of ""ethnic"" food in my rural Oregon childhood - no daring, no flavor, appeal to everybody without appealing to anybody. My son's pizza reminded me of bad chain pizza, my daughter's ravioli looked like Costco brand with Ragu on top (she refused to eat it, which has NEVER happened in an Italian restaurant before). Garlic bread was that cheap American-French bread that was slightly stale. My daughter's crudite plate - canned black olives, a red onion slice, two cucumber slices and two tomato slices. My husband's panini was characterless. Waitress was very nice, wine & beer were good. Kids liked their ice cream. Great bathrooms. If you like standard American versions of Italian food, you may really like it (a lot of people there seemed to). If you are looking for interesting Italian, I would not recommend this place.
Pros: Wait staff, bathrooms
Cons: Food.
