Too much $$$$ 4/24/2012

The service is the usual, but please be careful with the charges as they are double what other vets charge. This office is meant to cater to the well off of Woodside Hills and my poor mom went in not thinking her bill would pile up so quickly. I was proactive in asking for the visit charge (reasonable) and making sure someone spoke Spanish, the vet who speaks Spanish failed to communicate prices to my mom. Now, an American on disability faces financial hardships because of a trip to the vet. I thought these horror stories only occurred in health care, my realm, but unfortunately they are everywhere. Pediatric Nurse 2/26/2010

After moving here from Michigan 3 months ago, we had to leave our 12 year old Labrador with our neighbors for a week. Upon our return "Sam" was lethargic, coughing, not eating and just NOT looking good. I am glad we took him to Alta Wood as another neighbor recommended them. After doing a series of x-rays and blood work "Sam" was diagnosed with severe bronchitis with a touch of pneumonia which he may have caught while playing at the dog park. "Sam" was prescribed with some high potency antibiotics and within 3 - 4 days he was back to his old, happy, and playfull self. Furthermore, Dr. Acevedo and his staff would call us to follow-up on "Sam's" progress. We are extremely fortunate to have found a compassionate, caring and knowledgeable veterinarian. GREAT JOB! more

ALTA-WOOD ANIMAL HOSPITAL 2/5/2008

Dr. Acevedo and his staff are wonderful. Over the past 15 years, they have taken care of my cat Sandie. I take Sandie there for her annual check-up and vaccinations. \r \r Sandie is an outdoor/indoor cat, so sometimes she gets an abscess. Dr. Acevedo and his staff have always been able to treat Sandie safely and successfully. \r \r My children and grandchildren take their pets to him too. We enjoy going to Alta-Wood because we are treated like family. more

JOB WELL DONE 2/5/2008

Dr. Acevedo has taken care of our pet bird "Sunny" since the early 80's. From sniffles, loosing feathers, and a broken leg he took great care each time to bring "Sunny" back to good health. "Sunny" was a great pet and our family surely miss him. We will be getting another pet bird, not to replace him, but because we just love birds. We will be bringing in our new pet bird soon - maybe a macaw! more

    Please note: We are only open alternating Saturdays. Please call our office to confirm. Also, we are open every other Thursday, with appointment scheduling and prescription refills on closed Thursdays, from 8:00 to 12:00 Noon.

    Alta- Wood Animal Hospital offers full Veterinary Medical and Surgical services for dogs, cats and pet caged birds. We are fully equipped with state of the art surgical monitoring equipment, including E.K.G., Pulse oximetry, Endoscopy, Diagnostic X-ray , as well as in-house diagnostic laboratory, allowing for early detection and prompt treatment of our patients.
