Allure Alterations

Another customer service debacle to report. Researched this business ahead of time. Appeared to be reputable. Took a men's sport's coat in for minor alterations on Saturday 10-26-2013. Was told it would be ready on Monday 10-28-2013 after 5:00. When I arrived to pick up the garnet, it was not ready. I was told it would be about thirty minutes and they would take care of it. I went next door to get a manicure...told them that is where I would be. They came over with the coat and delivered to me. I was in the middle of a manicure. Did not have an opportunity to stop and try on at that moment. Get home later than night and tried it on...there were no alterations done at all. Took the garmet to a master tailor to let him look at it and he said there were no signs that there had been any alterations done...no even the minor alterations. They have two choices...one of which is to refund my $88 or go to small claims court. Nonetheless, I will report to BBB for fraudulent business practices. I have been going there for 3+ years. They do a great job and great service. Since Im a short person I'm always in need of clothing alterations, specially jeans and dress pants. Some say the price is high, but I think is reasonable for the awesome work they do. more

My husband took a suit that looked about 2 sizes too big on him to Linda's Allure Alterations and we are both so impressed by the work! When my husband came back and put on the suit to show me, my jaw dropped - I couldn't believe it was the same suit and how perfectly it fit him. It was a wonderful fit, and the workmanship was top quality. The entire suit had to be redone, so it was an expensive alteration, but the quality cannot be beat. I plan to take all of my alterations here from now on. more

In a pinch, Allure helped me out. I found out that I had an interview in two days and I only have one nice suit, but it needed to be altered. I explained my situation to Leanna. She assured me that they could alter my suit, and given that the situation was something of an emergency, my order was rushed. The result was a fantastic job done very quickly. The only downside is that their work is a bit pricey. However, even if another company existed that was cheaper, I would probably stay with Allure. I appreciate it when a company goes out of its way to perform a service for me. In my eyes they've proven themselves to me, and because of that I will reward with with repeat business. I can't promise that they can fix your dress as well as they did my suit, but after what I went through with them, they're certainly worth a shot. In regard to the previous comments from Friendly Guy: I find this somewhat surprising. I have taken my clothes to Allure Alterations for almost two years and I have had nothing but good experiences. The customer service is extremely polite and their work is always efficient and professional. Pros: great work and great customer service Cons: none that I've ever seen more

I bought two jeans and a suit from the Galleria and clerk recommended that I take these items to Allure for alterations. I spent close to $900.00 total for these items and mentioned it in passing to person working the store. I told her that I would be flying back to New York in seven (7) days and needed the suit for a function the next day. The jeans needed to be hemmed. To my surprise, all the items were ready the next day and the hems were consistent. Suit fitted nicely. The problem was that she wanted to charge me $450.00 for the alterations. I thought that was a bit high and she mentioned that her workers had to work overnight and around the clock to get my clothes ready. Feeling guilty, I gave up arguing about the bill and saw some tired faces on the seamstress in the back area. Anyways, I had tailored jeans and a suit to wear while I was in Houston and will proudly take it home with me back to New York. Honestly, I was hoping the charges would be more reasonable. After trying several other tailors, I gave Allure a shot and I only wish I had found them sooner. They were fast, efficient, and totally reworked my garments to make them feel as if they were custom made. This is the first tailor I've been to that I have had absolutely no problems with and I would not hesitate to refer my friends. Due to ""miscommunication"" I didn't get my stuff altered as the way I wanted (which I don't really understand how that happened, because I repeatedly requested the same thing over and over again before leaving the store), but Allure Alterations was still professional and tried to go over the issue with me as much as they could. But with the damage already done, I ended up just getting a discount for my clothes. The job they did on the alteration itself was not that bad, but everytime I look at the ""flawed alteration"" I will probably be reminded of this annoyance and won't enjoy wearing that piece as much as I would have. Might even end up not wearing it at all, although I wouldn't have either because it didn't fit me very well in the first place, but not because it provoked bad feelings. more

I was recommended Linda's Allure Alterations from a salesperson at the Galleria and have become coming back every time I fly back to Houston and have a clothing emergency. They were fast and affordable and I was timely for my business presentation. I would highly recommend this place for out of town visitors. This place is also very easy to find. I asked my wife to drop my pants off and I never had to go in for measurments. I was very pleased with the work done on my pants. I needed them taken in to a smaller size. The staff was friendly and I would recommend this shop to all! more

I just had a few items hemmed, and they came out fine, but that's an easy job. I got a quote for alterating a short dress and another skirt, both quotes were expensive. It seems like several people do the tailoring there; I'd rather find a specific tailor that always works on my items. more

A co-work recommended that I bring in a gucci suit that i had purccased on line. I was so pleased with the great job they did for me they were very freindly and made me feel so good. Not only did they do their job dut they gained a long term client. I will be telling all of my friends about my great expierience. I am their #1 FAN. This was my first time as a guy getting suit altered & didn't know what to expect . My suit looks fabulous. Pros: Right around the corner & very knowledgable tailors. more

OMG! SO I took in my Wedding gown to get altered b/c I love really tight fitting clothes. So a friend of mine told me to go to this place. When I purchased the dress it didn't fit to great but when I got it back it fit like it was Couture. Made exactly for my body. The prices were reasonable & very freindly owner. I've taken a couple of other items there and they did a really good job. My wedding night was perfect & so was my dress. i know that women tend to get their clothes altered a lot more than us guys do. but i've gotta tell you ... guys, you're missing out! i first took some pants to allure back in november. and since then, i've taken 5 more pairs. yes, i confess, i'm addicted to allure alterations! i had allure alter the length and waist on each pair of my pants. they did a FANTASTIC job. the quality of work, the price, and the customer service were exceptional. and as for me ... i look great in my perfectly fitted jeans and slacks. allure altered them so well that most people think i buy all of my clothes from Saks! and i'm so suave in my fitted pants that i'm beating the ladies off with a stick! thanks allure! more

I got 2 pairs of jeans hemmed around the holidays and the turn around was amazing. i expected to wait a couple of weeks - and my jeans were ready in less than a week. they were very friendly and price was reasonable. more

Linda's Allure Alterations does a fantastic job. Most dress fit me well off the store, but I have had several dress and pairs of pants altered by Linda's Allure Alterations to fit perfectly, as a fully tailored pair of pants would. I had a bridesmaid's dress that was two sizes too big, and Linda's Alteration did an amazing job of tailoring it to fit me. It was ready well before she said it would be, and the dress looks fabulous! I am so pleased to have found someone in the Triangle that performs such high quality work, and I will go back to her for any and all alterations I need from now on!
