Worst

From reading some ot the reviews here, I have to say anybody whom looking for a doctor...especially shrinks, that will take over responsibility for a patient's own life will be so...

Editorial review from Citysearch 2/5/2013

My doctor is a good one. Not great. The support staff here is awful though. They aren't friendly and they don't follow through. Case in point. I called to have my Rx renewed because I had unexpectedly run out of medicine. \r \r They said they would call my pharmacy with the Rx. They did not do this and now I am having withdrawal symptoms. Renewal shouldn't be this much of a hassle as I've been taking the medication under physician supervision for 3 years. \r \r It's ridiculous. more

Self-Responsibilty & Difficult Patients 1/23/2012

From reading some ot the reviews here, I have to say anybody whom looking for a doctor...especially shrinks, that will take over responsibility for a patient's own life will be sorely dissapointed. For all you borderlines out there, try googling 'The difficult patient' and check out the reams of literature on this subject. Doctors don't like 'difficult patients' period. The sooner you realize this the sooner one can begin to just move on and before you start complaining...first search for answers in the mirror. more

A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT 4/28/2011

On a positive note, Dr. Harvey from this practice is an outstanding example of a doctor who has retained his understanding of the art of psychiatry in addition to the science. I am forever grateful to him and cannot praise him enough. Kudos and a huge thank you to Dr. Harvey for his empathy and humanity when I needed it most. He listened to me with great empathy, saw what needed to be done for my husband, acted expediently, and made me feel like he genuinely cared. However, as a result of my experience with two other doctors from this group, both of whom also treated my husband, an Alzheimer's patient who has now passed, I would caution future patients to carefully consider the specific doctor they choose from this group. The two doctors to whom I refer are unquestionably very smart. ""did no harm"" physically and I commend them for that, but based on my experience with them, they have completely lost sight of the totality of their role as doctors and are sorely lacking in wisdom. In my opinion, the best doctors understand that medicine is as much art as science, as much dealing with people as dealing with pills. The unnamed two doctors to whom I refer unquestionably have the science and the knowledge, but have lost the art and wisdom of their profession. To say that they were a huge disappointment is to understate my feelings about my entire experience with them. High praise again for Dr. Harvey. more

Harmful! 10/11/2009

I was seen here as a teenager by Dr. Gabiliani. I disclosed to her within the first 5 sessions that I had been sexually abused in the past and was experiencing ongoing verbal and psychological abuse by my parents. Not only did she fail to notify DCFS but told me she ""didn't even want to hear"" about the past sexual abuse. I was often called a ""little b***h"" and blamed for ruining my parent's lives. My diagnosis was changed to borderline personality disorder at age 15 and I was referred to Dr. Kriesmen who had already decided what medication I should be on before even speaking to me. I was told I needed electro-convulsive therapy, constantly threatened with unneeded hospitalization, and told I'd need to be on medication forever (despite continuing symptoms of toxicity) because I was ""too hard to control"" without it. I already had severe (untreated) PTSD when I began seeing people in this group and their treatment only worsened it. Cons: failed to report child abuse, verbally abusive, misdiagnosed more

Great experience for me 9/11/2009

After Dr. Lafferty was replaced by Dr. Iqbal, I was so so happy, I couldn't believe it. Where Dr. Lafferty had been always running late (sometimes up to an hour!), Dr. Iqbal was ALWAYS on time, every single time. Where Dr. Lafferty was borderline insane, Dr. Iqbal was pleasant, kind, and always to the point. She seemed to understand the issues I spoke about, and is up to date on medical/psychiatric news. I have never found a psychiatrist I loved before, I will probably never find one like her again! Pros: Smart, helpful psychiatrists Cons: The waiting room is small more

HORRIBLE GROUP. NO PEOPLE SKILLS. BOARDERING ON FRAUD 3/30/2009

The Most Horrible experience of my life. If I didn't need a shrink, I certainly needed one after seeing DR. IGBAL for a couple of appointments. No people skills at all. I have no idea why she went into the field of phsyciatry since she hates to deal with anyone with problems. I had a slight disagreement with her because she kept calling in sick and cancelling my appointments. Then she had the reservationist put me down for another day; however, they neglected to inform me that they rescheduled my appointment so when I didn't show up they billed me for a missed appointment and charged much higher than the usual rate. When I called and tried to clear up the misunderstanding, it fell on deaf ears. I would think this is a case where the doctor should have given me the benefit of a doubt. After all it was SHE who cancelled my appointment -- NOT ME. A week later I received a letter saying she no longer wanted to be my doctor because she thought I was difficult. Yes,maybe I was frustrated and that showed through, but to kick me to the curb because I wanted her office to accept responsibility, was totally unconscionable!!! Now I go to a new doctor and have to take medication for anxiety attacks because her collections office calls me at all times of the day asking me to pay an inflated bill for an appointment I didn't know I had to begin with. I must have explained this situation a half dozen times between her office and the collection agency to know avail. Did I mention that I am on permanent disability due to horrible anxiety attacks. She continues to harrass me knowing full well she was treating me for anxiety. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Use this group at your own peril!! Pros: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!! Cons: THESE SHRINKS NEED SHRINKS more
