All About Facials & Waxing

I'm 18 and went in for my first waxing when I was just 16 or maybe 17. Naturally it was pretty intimidating, but Cj was great and made me feel comfortable. She'll walk you through the whole process, and just has a great happy energy about her. All about facials is the only place I'll go. I get a modified brazilian, 3/4 leg, and under arms done and Cj is awesome! She is friendly, organized, and very professional. I can't wait to try out her facials soon as well. more

To give you some background: my hormones are out of whack, I have sensitive skin, and I have a fair/medium complexion with hyperpigmentation. It's like a beauty trifecta from hell! I found CJ at the beginning of this year from online reviews and decided to give her a try, especially since her prices were super reasonable and she was right in Kaimuki. Over the course of this year, I've gone for a face wax every six weeks or so and she does such a great job. The wax she uses doesn't overly irritate my skin and I like that she listens when I tell her what I'm looking for with my eyebrows - which is a truly rare and much valued trait in the beauty world, apparently! I also have had her signature facials done three times and I absolutely love them! Now, I'm the kind of girl who wants an aesthetician who really de-congests my pores in addition to doing the massaging and relaxing thing. Her facials are A-mazing! My skin always looks clear and clean. With my sensitive skin, the fact that she can do a face wax and facial back-to-back and still get my skin to be clean, glowing, and not irritated....that's a testament to CJ's skill and the investment she makes in using high-quality products! CJ really spends her time making every minute count when she gives a facial and I've always left feeling relaxed and looking radiant. Quick tip: If you're not into heavy scrubbing or deep extractions, just let her know. I like the intensity she brings when doing the exfoliating and extracting, but I know others may find it a wee bit too much/sore. I'm kind of a ""no pain, no gain"" in this respect. :) more

I have gotten waxed many times, mind you never in Hawaii, and I must say that CJ was FANTASTIC and PROFESSIONAL and super PERSONABLE and made the experience into a pleasantry rather than the usual masochistic dreaded ""must"" as a female who doesn't want to look like a fir tree! Haha. No, but honestly, CJ was quick, used the perfect temperature wax, and the best of all, kept me distracted during my entire full leg wax. I barely felt a thing. She also made my eyebrows look smashing becuase she didn't make them pencil thin, yet really just accentuated my natural brow line. She is a must go to and I can't wait to go back. Now that's a first in forever...even an oxymoron...wanting to go back to your waxer!! But, that's how good she is and that's how painless it was!! What else can I say?! You do the math:) more

So i went to All About Facials And Waxing for my first brazillian wax, as soon as i got there i felt very relaxed, CJ is wonderful, i happened to be smiling almost the whole time, and going through something as painful as that is GREAT! i will definatly go back again and again! more

I have been going to CJ for my facials now for 5 years and I just have to say that I LOVE my skin after her facials. I have oily skin and lots of clogged pores, her product never makes me break out. CJ is very skilled and uses high quality products during the process (cleanser, scrub, massage oil, steam, pore clearing, followed by a soothing mask.) CJ is awesome at bikini wax. Her technique is quick and painless and her wax is the right temperature. I also have my brows done by CJ, and the shape is always great, never too thin. So I went in last month for a Brazilian and left completely satisfied! CJ was very professional and easy going. She made me feel super comfortable by explaining the process and chatting with me the whole time. Also the place was very clean and parking was easy. It was my first wax so it took longer than usual but i was still in and out of there in about 20 mins. The pain wasn't too bad and the results have been fantastic! Especially living out here where almost everyday I'm in a swimsuit. Also the price was very reasonable! I'm definitely going back and also looking forward to having CJ do my eyebrows too. After a very botched attempt to wax myself, I sought out some professional help in my neighborhood. I was so fortunate to meet CJ at her oasis in Kaimuki. She made a potentially very awkward experience a pretty relaxing and positive one. I have gone back several times. Each time I call to make an appointment, CJ has been accomodating. She works so fast - and there's no waiting time - I am able to get waxed during my lunch hour. CJ prides herself in providing a clean and sanitary ""procedure"" and an anxiety-free experience. I came to CJ after a not so great experience at Paul Brown, and I was super surprised at how amazing she was!!! She is so fast; she makes a very awkward experience so easy. I went from a very bad impression of a Brazilian to never wanting to go without one!!! CJ is awesome I hope that I never have to go to anyone else. Pros: Well priced more

I gave up on finding a great, experienced waxing place after trying so many different places, almost all of which charged ridiculously compared to the mainland. Then my friend from LA, who was only here for one summer, recommended me this place. It's been almost two years since I moved to Hawaii, which means no periodical Brazilian wax for me for two years. Even though it was the first time in a long while, she made sure I felt comfortable and that wouldn't feel much pain. I WAS nervous about the pain because I have bad experiences with waxing here in Hawaii. She was sooo good... AND quick! (I didnt even have half an hour for my parking meter, but she finished it on time! ) The price was a little higher than expected, but that's only because it was the first time in a long while as I mentioned before. A friend referred me to All About Facials and Waxing and now I've been to CJ several times for a brazilian wax and I've told all my friends about it! She is so welcoming and made me very comfortable, it was over before I even knew it! I'd definitely recommend going to CJ for a brazilian wax it's so much better than shaving and perfect when you live in Hawaii especially now that summer is coming up! more

If you really read these reviews, you'll see that all of the five-star reviews essentially say the same thing (it was my first bikini wax, she was so gentle, etc., etc.). I would put money on the fact that they were written by someone associated with the spa. I don't care how good you are at waxing, you're not going to get that many stellar reviews. Plus, there are way more reviews for this place than any other spa. Just a reminder to take everything you read with a grain of salt. more

I went to CJ for an eyebrow and Brazilian wax. She did my brows first, and when she had me look in the mirror, I nearly burst into tears because my eyebrows were WAY too thin. I've been to probably a dozen different aestheticians in my life and it was easily the worst my brows have ever looked. CJ was very apologetic and didn't charge me for the wax and offered to wax them again for free next time.\r \r Then we moved on to the Brazilian. She had me undress right in front of her, which I thought was weird (normally you undress prior to the services starting and cover yourself with a towel). I had nothing to cover myself, I was just hangin' out there. The wax was unusually painful (which I understand could have been caused by something other than the wax or technique), but the results were decent.\r \r When I went back to the office after my appointment, several coworkers commented on my screwed-up brows. I spent the next 2 months having to draw on my eyebrows each morning. The next day, my nether regions were very sore and upon further inspection I realized that parts of the skin had been *ripped off*. Again, this has never happened to me in over 20 times of being waxed down there. I applied Neosporin and the soreness was gone after 2 days, but I will never, ever return to all about facials and waxing.\r \r One star for the professionalism and genuine concern from CJ, but zero stars for the results. I just can't say enough wonderful things about my experience yesterday with CJ. This was my very first Brazilian waxing experience and needless to say, I was nervous. . . to say the least! I am very self conscious of my body, so shaving was my only option. The big problem with shaving is the itch and thicker re-growth. I have considered waxing before, but never felt comfortable when I spoke with other salons regarding questions or concerns that I had. It wasn't like that with CJ. From my first telephone contact, to walking through the door, CJ made me feel very comfortable and at ease . The atmosphere she creates is very calming and peaceful. Scented candles, subdued lighting and soothing music aide in the relaxation process. During my session, she explained the process, worked quickly, and never made me feel uncomfortable. The whole time I spent with her was like visiting with a friend. I will see her again, and recommend her to everyone. . . she's great! I don't usually write reviews for goods and services, but after going to CJ for over 3 years, it's time I started! I was introduced to CJ, by my mom in 2005, and have been a loyal customer ever since. I had gotten a facial the year before in CA at one of those ""chain"" salons and was so uncomfortable during the entire process. The technician not only lectured me about the ways that I take care of my skin and my lack of a daily make-up routine, but left me feeling red, sensitive, and splotchy for DAYS afterwards. When my mom made me an appointment with CJ, I was excited, but also a little wary given my previous experience. BUT my time with CJ was NOTHING like that. CJ was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and left me (and my face) feeling renewed, revitalized, and relaxed, which is not always possible after extractions. Since then, I visit All About Facials and Waxing EVERY time I am in town for all of my facial and waxing needs. When I got married this past summer, there was no one I was going to let touch my face before the Big Day except for CJ. She worked with me over the five weeks that I was here pre-wedding to get my face fresh and blemish-free. She is a highly trained professional, and my trust in her is implicit and complete. I even decided to get ""fully dipped"" in preparation for the wedding and could not have been happier with the results. I was a waxing ""virgin"" (besides my routine eyebrow wax) and felt understandably nervous on the day of my appointment. But the results were AMAZING and the pain NONEXISTENT (and I have a very low threshold for pain). We just chatted it up and before I knew it, the waxing was over, my legs and arms had never been so smooth, and I got to lay back on the table and enjoy my facial. She even did the make-up for my entire bridal party, and we all looked and felt BEAUTIFUL. I absolutely believe all the other glowing reviews that rate CJ the best in the island - I live in CA, and there's no one that compares to her there either!
