I've had my share of waxes - while I'd found a great gal in NYC, I was really disappointed by all the waxes I had since I moved to Boston. Needless to say, I'm pretty nit-picky when it comes to a Brazilian wax. It took my flying back to Hawaii to get the clean-up that I'd been looking for. CJ knows what a bikini wax is supposed to be! She is friendly and fun, but gets right down to business - diligent, professional, quick, and painless. After recently moving, I decided to use city search to look up a new place for me to go for my cosmetic needs. I read the reviews for CJ's and decided to give it a go. I was completely surprised at how nice CJ's shop was. It was clean, relaxing, and very welcoming. The wax took no time at all and didn't even hurt! She's been doing this forever and knows what she is doing! I wouldn't even think about looking for another place to go for waxing or facials. The experience was delightful and ever so quick and with such ease. CJ is a professional and an expert at this craft. Our experience was truly delightful. This is our second brazilian and by far the best service compared to the ""Paul Brown"" establisment. The ambience was much more peaceful and relaxing. CJ made us feel at ease while explaining the process and what to do until our next visit. I was a bit hesitant to drive out to the Kaimuki area for a brazilian but I am glad that my sister recommended her service. I (a customer since '05) looked up All About Facials & Waxing on citysearch because I lost CJ phone #. I see all her reviews and don't see a review from a man. Well, coming from a man's experience, CJ and All About Facials & Waxing is the best when it comes to not only facials but the typical grooming a 'hairier' man needs to have. CJ waxes my bushy eyebrows, upper cheeks, nose (nostril and outside), ears, and hands as well as my back and shoulders. The waxing services are quick with minimal discomfort. She is extremely professional and efficient. Her very serene office space is clean, relaxing, and quite comforting - very cute! C.J. was great! Not only did she give me my very first Brazilian, but she also gave me great information about the area. She was able to talk me through the new areas that I'd never had waxed before. 6-28-08 I was very lucky to receive a gift certificate for one of CJ's facials from a dear friend. CJ is extremely professional, she uses the finest products and I am now a regular customer. Your face feels clean and healthy when she is finished. You are relaxed in the atmosphere. CJ also has excellent facial products but does not push sales. She is also a good and caring person. Went to see CJ for the first time today based on previous rave reviews -- and they were all true! I've had lots of ""good"" brazilians before, but this was the first time EVER that I haven't asked myself sometime during the process why I was doing it! She was literally done with a brazilian, lip and brow in 20 minutes, and did a fantastic job. You would be crazy to go to anyone else! more

When I first moved to Hawaii about a year ago, I was looking for a place to get my eyebrows waxed. I was looking so bushy! I went to a hair salon place in downtown and I wasn't happy with the shape at all. Then I saw CJ's advertisement in the window at her shop. She is so experienced and good at what she does. I appreciate how she puts baby powder and cool tonic on my brows because I always get so red and hot afterwards. I asked her about facials one day because I had had a bad experience in California. The woman who did my facial there was horrible, all she did was poke at my face. I had no idea when I went to CJ what a treat I was in for! She massages your face and neck, makes your hands soft with little warm mitts, and refreshes your face so that it shines. It is so relaxing to go in and get pampered a little after a hard day's work. Its funny, but I love the smell of the place where she works. CJ has been trained at all the best places, and it shows! more

Upon moving to Oahu I searched high and low for a decent brazilian bikinki wax. Everyone I called either charged crazy prices or just did basic bikini waxes with only so-so results. Thank goodness I found CJ! Her prices are very decent and she does a fantasic BRAZILIAN bikini wax (or any other kind you wish). The process was so quick that I didn't even have to pay for parking because it was under the time limit! And I love her attention to detail. She makes sure everything is perfect and as painless as possible. If you want a good waxist CJ is definitely the one to go to...and keep coming back to! more

1/30/11 UPDATE: Sad to say, but I went to CJ / AAF&W recently, and this time my experience was COMPLETELY different (in a bad way)!! =( My old Citysearch post (below) totally sang her praises...but this time it was just HORRIBLE...traumatic, really. True, I hadn't been to CJ in a couple yrs, so I don't know if this about-face is because she's getting careless...or if she was having a bad day...or what. But I fully expected a pleasant/easy time again...and OMG, it's like she doesn't even CARE anymore! \r \r First of all, CJ didn't leave the room for me to undress, but just stood there & watched me strip...a little awkward, but ok, whatever. Once I was on the table, there were no niceties...it was just wax, RIP, wax, RIP, wax, RIP, wax, RIP...it hurt like HELL, and there was nothing gentle/soothing about her procedure...not even on the more delicate parts (ladies, you know what parts I'm talking about)!! Moreover, CJ's attitude/body language the entire time was ""let's get this over with."" She never asked how I was doing, didn't seem to notice me wincing...not only did I NOT feel pampered/cared for in the least, but I actually felt kind of humiliated, like ""why am I even here??""\r \r Granted, it was FAST--I was in & out in 20 mins--but that's about it. When I got home, I showered again, a little concerned about the redness (very unsual) & certain spots bleeding (very unusual), but I basically felt ok. I also found some stray hairs that I had to tweeze--a bit irritated that I'd paid $75 (her prices went WAY up) + $15 tip, only to pluck hairs out of my own nether-regions--but again, whatever. =P The bigger problem came later, when my skin started getting itchy/irritated (very unusual). It wasn't too bad at first, so I just ignored it...but then it got worse...& stayed that way...FOR THE NEXT 4-5 WKS!! Literally!! And it was everywhere: in front, underneath, towards the back...aaackk!! Wearing underwear/pants/shorts totally SUCKED for the 1st week or so.\r \r Even worse, it totally ruined my plans for a romantic weekend w/the beau!! Poor guy. Luckily, bf is VERY patient/understanding...any lesser man would've throttled me, having to listen to my daily complaints for over a month. BUT when I went for my next brazilian (somewhere else, of course)...he did ask that I not go back to ""that woman who tortured you last time."" 0=] Hehehe. \r \r *****************\r \r I've tried at-home waxing before--because professional waxing tends to be REALLY expensive--but it was so painful and inconvenient that I finally gave up and decided to try a professional...and I'm SO glad that I found CJ! When I first called her shop, shd' had never even met me before, had no idea who I was, but I told her it was ""my first time,"" and I had an international flight to catch the very next day. Of course, at such short notice, she was booked solid for the entire day...but because she knew it was my first time and I'd be sitting on a plane for 8 hours, she squeezed me in anyway! She's so sweet, she didn't want to take a chance of me having a bad first experience! \r \r When I got to the shop, the environment was very soothing, and CJ was so nice! It wasn't awkward at all, she made me feel totally comfortable, gave her professional opinion whenever I needed it (she's been doing this for 19 years!), and we talked story the entire time. She was also very efficient, which I totally appreciate, and we were done before I knew it. Best of all, it wasn't even painful!! =) Each stroke just felt like a little pinch, and even that was gone in an instant. \r \r Last but certainly not least, CJ's prices are GREAT...can't beat them anywhere around town...and I really checked! I'm definitely finding a way to fit this into my budget every month...can't believe I used to try and do this myself. CJ is great. I have been a customer of hers for over 4 years now. She is entirely professional and always timely. Getting a bikini wax can sometimes be embarassing, but CJ does a great job at making her customers feel comfortable and welcome. She does her job so quickly it leaves little time for embarassment. Since I have been a customer I have experienced less in grown hairs in the bikini region and the hair has even become more sparse and thinner. She does such a great job, that my girlfriend from New York that visits Hawaii once or twice a year to see her family, always calls me ahead of time to schedule her bikini wax at All About Facials and Waxing while she is here instead of before at some chop shop in Long Island. Had a bikini wax and it was the most painful experience ever. This was not my first time. I never had my skin ripped by a waxing procedure and bleed excessively. I have sensitive skin, I developed a bad rash from the baby powder that I had to visit my doctor. Since then I haven't gone to anybody here in the island. Fortunate for me that I can do it myself. The best waxing techinques is California. more
