Aldo's Ristorante & Bar

I went to eat on a week night for my Fathers 60th birthday. The waitress was very pushy. To the point of becoming anoying. Sorry if some of our party was stuck in traffic getting to the resturant. Then my neice got sick (mind you she is 12 months) and threw up all over my Sister. The bussers were great at helping us get it all cleaned up. But they did nothing to difuse the smell. Nor did they get out a mop to wipe the floor down. Now I have worked at a resturant for many years and they were not that busy that somebody could have done the sanitary thing and got a mop out. At least that would have taken away the nasty smell. My Sister did the appropraite thing and left with my neice. \r Now the food... For what we payed they could have tossed in a salad... They also could have tosses some noodles or something more on my plate. I had the Chicken and artichoke. Now don't get me wrong the meal was delisious but it was missing something. and I went home not satisfied at all. They didn't have a kids meals. I had emailed somebody off the website and he emailed me an uniofical kids menue but when we got there they had not Idea what my daughter wanted to order. I ended up taking her to mcdonalds & i have lunch today. I get more food going to the Olive Garden or even going to Buca. And end up going home with lunch for the next day. Aldo's is an extremely authentic italian restaurant. Even the waiters are from Italy. The food is great and I've never had a problem with the service there at either lunch or dinner. Aldo brought my husband and I a complimentary limencello for no apparent reason one time! Now, that's service. The ambience is truly ""bella italia"", very nice. I would definitely recommend Aldo's to anyone wanting a great authentic italian restaurant for lunch or dinner. more

My friend and I were seated right in front of the cart with the extra dishes, water pitchers etc.\r I was bumped just about everytime the waitresses needed to get a dish or whatever.\r I didn't enjoy the food because I was busy trying not to be bumped or having something dropped on me or spilled on me.\r Would never go back more

I recently had the absolute pleasure of dining at Aldo's, and it was an amazing experience. I had made reservations for a very large party of 35, and when we arrived, there was a large table set up for us. We were greeted by the hostess, our server, and Aldo himself. \r \r The service was impeccable, especially for such a large party. The servers were very attentive and kept the food coming and the wine flowing without missing a beat. \r \r The food was delicious. To start, there was freshly baked bread with bowls of roasted garlic, basil and olive oil to dip. Because our party was so large, the menu was condensed to offer a few key dishes including chicken, salmon, veal, and lobster raviolli. There was also choice of salad and calamari fritta appetizer. Every single person loved the food and couldn't get enough. \r \r The atmosphere was perfect, and we were sat off to the side of the main dining area so our group could enjoy each other's company easily. \r \r I can't thank Aldo enough for making this such a wonderful dining experience. My family and friends dine here constantly. The staff is always friendly and helpful, they treat you like one of the family. For all the times we have been here, none of us have ever had a bad meal. Try to lobster ravioli, veal stuffed with mozzeralla and if it is on special - the salmon in brandy sauce. Oh yeah, the limoncello is the best around. It is homemade and delicous, but careful, too many of these and you will regret it in the morning! This food is sensual, rich, and simply divine. Must try the Lobster Raviolis in a Champange Cream Sauce..... This food is so sinful, it's ridiculous. Setting is cozy, usually quiet, and intimate. Support local and authentic places like this! Pros: rich food, authenticity, good service more

The most important reason I keep coming back to Aldo's is that the food is really authentic. It is very difficult to find a place here, where Italian food tastes Italian and has not been americanized yet. Aldo's is the only one I know in the Bay Area and I have been to all others on this Top 10 list. You can make the test yourself by comparing the Melanzane among all of them. The only area for improvement I see is in the consistency. Sometimes I would rate the food 11, sometimes just 8 for the same dish. Nevertheless I have never been disappointed. The 2nd most important reason is the great atmosphere. No matter how diverse the audience, it always blends together well. Our bad experience started with a very rude person at the front desk. We went to dinner with 2 kids and wanted to sit at a booth - we were told that booths were reserved (when in fact I had made dinner reservations) - upon questioning this, she suddenly remembered (!) a booth that was open and seated us there. The server was very curt as well and took forever to bring us bread. The worst part was the food - I ordered Rigatoni Paesani - the pasta was undercooked & the sausage seemed stale. We usually go the Italian ""chains"" - Olive garden, Macaorni Grill or old Spagetti Factory - decided to try this out for something different and ""authentic"" - next time we will stick with the bigger places. This is the best Italian Restaurant in Santa Clara County. Aldo has done an amazing job of bringing a little bit of Sorrento to Los Gatos. The food is always fresh and hot and very good. The wait staff are all great and very friendly. An Italian singer, Pasquale, is there most Saturday nights and is great fun for everyone. You won't go wrong with this one. They are open every day but Sunday for lunch and dinner. This is a don't miss! Pros: Excellent Food, Excellent Staff, Excellent Service Cons: There are none more

Best Italian Food in the Valley. Aldo, who is always wandering around the restaurant, makes sure that every part or your diner is perfect. I recommend the gnocchi, but always ask, they will never steer you wrong. Pros: Great Food, Great Service, Warm Atmosphere more
