They are the nicest people in the world when they are trying to sell you some high priced jewelry, but turn their backs when you come in with a issue. Go across the street! more

Sell gold ELSEWHERE! Although I always noticed a fishy business vibe, I have given them plenty of chances. Not Anymore. My latest experience involved selling gold. The EXPERT kept blaming his calculator for extremely low payout amounts. They also act as is if they don't know how high the market value of gold is right now. Alberts had a nice marketing scheme where they made themselves appear as the great, family business they claim to be. They were paying an extra 50% and giving 20% off in store. No loss for them because the payoff amount they start you with is just a little more than dirt. I knew they were scamming because another employee quoted me a low amount a few days prior to this experience, but urged me to return over the weekend to take advantage of their special. That weekend of their special is when they started me out EXTRA LOW (more than 50% less). GET quotes elsewhere and take your business elsewhere. If you decide to do any business there, have them complete paperwork if front of you--otherwise they fudge numbers and try to cheat you some more. I feel bad for all the people that were cheated when selling gold to the expert with the faulty calculator. He had more excuses than a school kid trying to lie and get out of a incomplete homework assignment. more

Good: Huge selection of watches and jewelry. Prices are fair in most cases but you have to know your values. Definitely have to do price comparisons with other jewelers. Recomend Moriarty's in Crown Point instead of Alberts. More professional.. Bad: Irritating sales people, very poor after point of sale service. Insulting owner.. Improvements: I would like to see Alberts sold to an owner that values after sale service.. Other: Bought a TAG watch a year ago and ended up spending over $350 in a single repair and then one month later the watch dial broke loose and turned instead of the hands. Famous Indiana Josh said "Oh I see a small scratch on the case, so it must have been impacted". Bull! Paid another $45 bucks and will never, ever go back to Alberts again, nor will I buy another TAG.. more

I have never written a review about any place I have been in my life. My experience with Alberts was so bad that I felt I needed to make people aware of the shady business practices of this dump. I purchased I a three stone diamond ring from Albert's Jewelers on 4/21/2010. I worked with Crisy D and the owner Josh Halpern. Through the process, my questions were answered with limited amounts of truth. When I asked questions like what is the difference between GIA and EGL they gave me answers like "we check the quality of every diamond that comes in here so it doesn't matter." This was typical for them to answer my questions like they were politicians trying to avoid an issue. Despite my reservations about how I had been treated I figured the owner would give me a decent price since I was referred to him by a mutual friend. I purchased the ring and had it sent to me since I live in Chicago and didn't want to have to drive back to pick it up. When I got the paperwork in the mail I noticed that they charged me an extra $100 for a service plan that most jewelers will tell you is a dishonest scheme for services usually provided for free or for benefits (e.g. replacing loose stones) the jeweler will never honor because of the language of the agreement. Then I look through the paperwork and they never sent me the EGL diamond certification report. I called and asked about it and they told me they don't even have one on file and that it wouldn't come in for 2 weeks. The two weeks ended up being conveniently after the 30 return policy would expire so I asked for an email stating that I would have an extra 30 days to return the ring after I received the certificate. The sent the email and everything was in broken sentences like it was written by someone with limited English writing skills. It was in such broken sentences that I questioned if they would honor the intent of the email should I need it. I went to get the ring appraised and they told me they valued the ring at $6000-6500 (I paid $7500). DONT GO HERE more

I have been shopping at Albert's for many years now. My husband bought my engagement ring there and we bought our wedding bands there. Over the years, I have bought countless items and have had nothing but great service and amazing jewelry. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! more

I went to Alberts Jewelers to resize my ring. The store was very clean and organized. The employers were super helpful and nice. The prices to resize my ring was great. They resized it great. It was an 1 hour wait. They also specialized in diamonds. They have a great sortment of diamonds. This store is a very trusted site. I would recommend this site to others. more

My fiance bought my engagement ring from Alberts in Schererville across from Target. The ring is top quality and when I took it in to get sized the staff was so nice and helpful. They were all friendly from the moment I walked into the door to when I left. They asked me if I would like any water or anything to drink, they are there to service and please you. My fiance also bought their Piece of Mind plan which includes free sizing and cleaning for 3 years, any tightening of the stones should any arise in the next 3 years, and also included a free jewelry cleaner that actually works and shines your stones! I would recommend just going into the store to look at the selection and meet the staff! more

I love alberts jewelry for its great selection. My husband bought me amothers ring from there and it is high quality gold. The workers are extremely nice. Albert is great and funny. They really aim to please. They treat their customers like family. They finance if you need it. They have great wedding sets. I think the prices are average. I would recommend them. more

The staff is extremely friendly, they even offer you a free soda while you shop. They offer watches, bracelets, ring, chains, and more. They offer free wedding receptions right there in the store on valentine's day. more
