We used Alan Smith Pool Plastering and Remodeling for the first time. They completely redid our pool, and they moved our pool equipment from the corner of the yard to the side of the yard. It turned out beautifully! We love it! They were here when they said they were going to be here, and they cleaned up everything at the end of the day. All the employees were very easy to work with, and it was a good experience! more

I had my pool modernized and remodeled by Alan Smith Pools. The pool was originally built in the 1950's and Alan Smith Pools converted the drain from 1 to 2 of them, replaced the copper piping with PVC piping, removed the pool ladder and built a "loveseat" into the side of the pool, installed a new pump, re-plastered the pool with a pebble finish, new tiling at the water line and put new coping on. Their crews did an outstanding job and showed up when they said they would. We're very pleased with the results. more

We had our pool re-plasterd with pebbletec finish. We also had our tile cleaned, 4 large artificial rocks repainted, one submersed artificial rock removed from the Baja reef in the shallow end, and had the slate rock caps on the spa overflow into the pool reinstalled (they were loose). Throughout the process, we received emails in advance stating dates/times for what was to occur next. They were always punctual and showed up as scheduled. They kept the mess to a minimum, cleaning up after each day. The end result was beautiful; I have no complaints. The price was reasonable given the number of tasks required. The project manager coordinated the job tasks of the various sub-contractors (i.e., tile cleaner, rock painter, plasters, demolition workers etc..) more

Alan Smith Pool Plastering and Remodeling took out the old plaster and replastered our pool last summer. They also put in a new border around it. They were very efficient, very professional, and didn't make any messes. more

From our first contact with Alan Smith Pool Plastering and Remodeling, to the completion of the project, we are absolutely delighted. We actually met with Alan Smith for the estimate. He was very personable and listened to our needs and what we wanted. My wife and I visited the showroom in Orange where we were able to see samples of pool finishes when they were wet and what they would really look like versus the dry product. There were many choices and we decided on the Bahama Jewel Gemstone Pebble Finish which gives the appearance of a darker bottomed pool. The main reasons we were so pleased with Alan Smith Pools were because they came in on agreed upon cost and on schedule. The demo, plumbing, equipment, pool plastering and start up crews were all friendly, coureous and polite in addition to being totally qualified in their respective crafts. I enjoyed watching the pool resurfacing process go from the orignal white plaster finish to a black and blue pebble finish. They also installed an energy saving Hayward variable speed pool pump and filter to which we have already experienced cost savings on our electric bill. In addition, as a responsible pool contractor, Alan recommended we install an anti entrapment drain cover in our pool and spa which was not mentioned by other pool contractors in the bidding process. I would highly recommend Alan Smith Pool Plastering and Remodeling to anyone looking to upgrade, renovate, or remodel their existing pool or backyard. If there were a ""6 Star Rating"", Alan Smith Pools would get them all. more

My pool was built in early 70's and had developed lots of rust spots from the rebar. Many of my neighbors had used Alan Smith and were happy with the outcome. I also checked with a neighbor who had used another company, and when I asked him if he would recommend his contractor, he said no way, and confessed that in hind-sight he wished he had gone with Alan Smith. \r Alan personally came over and explained the process. He gave us plenty of information regarding the different finishes (plaster vs. quartz vs. pebble etc) so that we could make an informed decision. He had specific crews for the different phases of the project. For example one crew did the demolition and removal of the old plaster, another crew set new rebar, etc. \r The project was completed in a timely manner (was just a week or so over his initial estimate primarily due to rain delays). We had email notifications prior to start of each phase. We asked Alan to also do the decking and stonework in the backyard. The progress speed and quality of the result was exceptional.\r They are not the cheapest contractor, but unlike many others they don't pay their employees under the table and I was impressed by how quickly they had the plans drawn and approved by the city and all inspections including the final one went without a hitch. I would recommend this company. more

I have been in the pool and spa industry since 1996 and Alan Smith Pool Plastering is the only company we will put our neck on the line to recommend. It started back about 8 years ago when one of my customers in Brea went with Alan Smith Pool Plastering for a complete pool and spa remodel and backyard kitchen addition. My customer was entirely satisfied with the pool and spa but not with the tile used on the ourdoor kitchen. Can you believe Alan Smith removed the tile and replaced it with a new tile without charging my customer a penny more!! Since then, I'm sold and refer them to everyone and have them linked on our websites. I will gladly give referrals and references anytime to this company. I have to warn you that Alan Smith has a history of taking payment and bailing on you. Shoddy work and failure to stand behind their work is reason for concern. I'd ask a few people who have actually used them before locking yourself in. You will not be happy. more

In the middle of our second time with ASPP. Don't wast time on anyone else if you can. They're not cheap but you can't afford to cut corners and suffer if things don't turn out. This company has the experience and always does what they say they're going to do. I have referred three friends to them over the years and they feel the same as we do. You won't find a better company anywhere for this type of stuff !!!!!!!! Pros: The best Cons: Costs more but do you want a cheap job or a good one more
