Best

Best sushi and best prices in the area. We've tried them all and none compare to Akashi! Always delicious and great value. We go about once a week and have a great dining experie...

Worst

This place has so much potential, but I give them a low rating for low-potency wasabi (just isn't as hot as it is elsewhere) and the dipping sauce (teriyaki?) that's watered down....

Best Sushi Selection, Great Customer Services 7/11/2006

I heard about Akashi for awhile, but didn't have a chance to visit until recently. We were impressed when we saw Akashi's sushi menu; $1.00 nigiri, half price sushi rice, and buy any four rolls for just $20. We tried the alaskan roll, dragon roll, seabree and five other rolls which we couldn't remembered anymore. All of those rolls are not big, but each has very unique taste which I had never have at other sushi bars in triangle. All fishes were fresh, and delicious, especially white tuna and yellowtail. Service is quite prompted. It took Akashi chefs less than 10 minutes to finish our 8 fancy rolls. Akashi head-chef, Yung, not just kept us entertained, but educated us about his fishes and his sushi style. Pros: Best sushi selection, price, great service Cons: parking more

So Glad I Found this Place!! 5/7/2006

While searching for a sushi making class, I found ""Akashi"". Yung was so friendly and enthusiastic about the class. I registered myself, my sister and my mom... and my 10 year old daughter (big sushi lover!) came along to observe. We attended ""Sushi 101"" today and it was great. Yung took time to explain the history/making of sushi. I have a greater appreciation for sushi chefs... what they make look easy is SO difficult! But, by the end of our class we were making gorgeous sushi rolls. We feasted on 32 pieces of delicious ""negi maki""!! That alone is worth the $50... plus you get sushi rice, seaweed wraps, dried seaweed and a sushi mat to take home. I'm excited to make my own sushi... AND I look forward to going to ""Akashi"" to enjoy their wonderful sushi prepared quickly and at a great price! Pros: Quality, Service, Great Deals more

Best Sushi in the Triangle 3/25/2006

I drive 45 minutes each way to have Akashi's sushi. It is by far, the best in the area an compared to other sushi bars, this one is cheap. The bento box is an awesome deal and I don't think anyone can beat it. Their sushi prices are about $1 cheaper per roll AND they have half priced sushi after one and Friday and Saturday nights. IF you like food from the Teppan grill, Akashi's is some of the best. And I just have to say once more, their sushi is excellent. Pros: cheap, good, nice staff more

Fresh Fish, Good Lunch Service 2/8/2006

A coworker and I found this place on our lunch break. It is a little on the pricey side but you get sooo much to eat for your money. Service was excellent. Miso soup was excellent. They have $1 a piece nigiri... a plus in my book. Tempura wasn't overcooked and meat was very fresh also. Good stuff! Pros: Fresh, Good Service, High quality meat Cons: Parking, Small seats more

Great Quality / Great Value 1/21/2006

Akashi has some of the freshest tasting fish of any of the local sushi bars. In particular the escolar (white tuna) is delicious. Head chef Young is always willing to improvise new creations based on suggestions. This place is becoming more and more popular especially at lunch time b/c of the 1/2 price sushi after 1pm and on Friday Saturday nights. what a deal. 1 of my 2 Favorites with Waraji. Absolutely recommend. Pros: Tasty Creations, Feel Welcome, Very Fresh Fish Cons: ambience, service, parking more
