Best

I have been to Aix multiple times in the past few months. I recently moved to Uptown and wanted to find a place where I was comfortable and felt like a valued guest when there. ...

Worst

Ok, I've been hearing things about this place for years and finally decided to try it. It may have been good in the early years but there is certainly no reason to go now. First...

We fought over every bite. 12/20/2004

My girlfriend and I sat at the bar after reading 5280 Magazine's recommendation. We ordered 5 different small plates to share. Every bite was so incredible, we literally fought over every bite. The wild mushroom soup with white truffle oil was so good we had to have 2 bowls to go, so we could have it again for lunch the next day. It was also a great pleasure to watch the chefs from the sidewalk window during my friend's smoke breaks. We also enjoyed meeting the two chef/owners. Both women were very friendly and personable. Pros: impeccable food, cozy atmosphere, great service more

I do not know how I missed this place the last two years. Great Food, great menu, great setting. What a delight. Have now been to a wine tasting, several meals, and brunch. Have never been disappointed. They do an excellent job of changing the menu to keep things new. Not to be missed. Pros: Excellent dishes, Great Setting, Superb service more

AIX has proven to be our favorite restaurant in Denver. The food is always delicious and creative -- blending new styles, yummy sauces and a Provencal flair. The staff and owners have made us feel welcome and comfortable, yet they remain extremely professional and knowledgable about the menu, flavors and wines. The atmosphere is warm and intimate, yet it maintains a sophisticated feel. AIX consistently provides us with an excellent dining experience, never leaving us dissapointed. Pros: food, service, atmosphere more

Aix is the best thing to happen to the Denver restaurant scene for years. The food, atmosphere, and service are outstanding. Everything about this place reflects the chefs' commitment to bringing their guests the best food possible in a cozy, friendly neighborhood setting. There is no hype, no gimmicks, and nothing taken for granted. Head downtown or down south for inflated prices and egos. If you get what great food is about, I'll see you at Aix! Pros: Exceptional food, Great bartenders, Happy staff more

Overrated! 12/29/2002

Sure is a trendy place, judging from the long wait that some folks have to go through, which doesn't mean it is good! Some Denverites appear to put their trust in raving reviews rather than in their own judgement. They cramm you in a little place one narrow table next to the other so you can almost smell your neighbor's breath. The food isn't all that exciting without being bad. The winelist is lousy including a couple of unknown French vins de pays for which they charge you Grand Cru prices. A "RIP-off" for now. Hopefully they will soon shed the "off" part. Denver doesn't need this place! Pros: parking Cons: winelist, crammed, overexpensive more

My friends and I went to Aix on Halloween. We started out with a brew of blood orange martinis that were to die for. We decided to order several appetizers which were full of flavor. I ordered the lamb shank, with figs, loved it. Saved room for the chocolate torte, a devilish delight. Aix...is a graveyard smash! more

Aix is a beautiful, quaint restaurant that Denver has never seen the likes of until now. After visiting France I yearned for something close to home that would help take me back to the sunlit beaches and warm fragrant air that blows off the Mediterranean. Aix finally has given Denver a true French restaurant that understands how the French cook and eat. It is simple, yet elegant, and the food sings on your palate. I love their use of vegetables in their roasted vegetable terrine, their salads come crisp, with just the right amount of dressing. My husband had the venison which was succlent and sweet my salmon was cooked perfectly. To top it off was an excellent peach tart with a minty sauce that made me feel as if I was back on the Riviera again. Thank you Aix, I am glad someone in this town finally gets IT. Pros: excellent food, impeccable service, beautiful design Cons: a little expensive, noise level is high more
