You have to question why they advertise so much on TV... maybe because they do not have repeat customers. With the service I received I can see why.I wanted to sell some items that I just wasn't wearing. I called before I stopped in and they seemed nice on the phone, but... They were very rude and I felt like I was being robbed. The young man threw my items back at me when I questions the price and what the weight of one of the rings was. I had no idea and wanted to know. He acted like I was scum and beneath him. While I was standing there another man was in the same situation questioning their offer on his items and he was getting the same treatment. I would never recommend these people. They should not advertise that they buy jewelry if they really are not interested. more

I just moved to the area ,and they were very friendly,nice to my child and very fair..I will be going back there very soon. more

I had some doubts after reading the reviews on this site about going there ,but decided to see for myself, I’m so glad I did . Many reviews on this are pretty false from what my epiriances were. These people are different from what they seem on the commercials. They are very knowledgeable on what they are doing, and serious when it comes to they're business. They do CUSTOM jewelry which is cool. Also they do a lot for the community, actually from what I last heard they're doing a chocolate sale of Fowlers chocolate towards easter time! 100% OF THE PROCEEDS BENEFIT PEOPLE INC. Meaning they're not getting any money out of it...there very down to earth giving people. So please don't let others negative reviews distort you from the truth. GIVE THEM A GO! more

As I was walking in a man came out and told me not to waste my time. They offered me 90 dollars for a watch I was attempting to sell. I said 90 seemed a little low the man working there became agitated and told me I won't get more than 50 dollars anywhere else. The next place I went offered me 300. Judysbook made me give this place at least one star to post my review but it definitely deserves no stars at all. more

Will never go to this little dump of a jewelry shop just because the commercials are on all the time and they are so stupid and annoying everyone I know hates them more

You can tell that most reviews are competitors. If you've ever been there and I've been doing business there for years, you'd see that they work with you. No games. I wouldn't keep going back if it was as bad as I'm reading here. Friendly, Fun, HONEST. Even if it's not always what we want to hear. more

Took a gold 14K wedding band to Airport Jewelers, they offered me 18.00. Tried King of Diamonds on Delaware, they offered 38.00. Last stop Hunt on Delaware and Kenmore, they offered 57.00 and I took it. Airport talks a lot in those commercials but they don't back it up. Hunt gave me 57.00 which is 3 time the 18.00 offer from Airport, don't waste your gas. Joe S. Buffalo, NY more

Total "Rip Off" Owners come across as God fearing, honest, caring, Re-Born Christians, But beware of these wolves in sheep skin..aka.. theiving republican, tea party, tax party, christian conservative, right-to-life....bible thumping ^#*^?> bastards, pawn shop scammers, etc., etc. They support Carl Paladino, visa versa, and both like 'old gold' (per jewerly store political ads/signage). A scary facination with George Dubya Bush, Dick Cheney, Glen Beck & Sarah Palin runs rampant....I'm just sayin!!! more

Good: Melanie was totally professional. She gave us an estimate and then weighed and tested our materials and was right on the money. She also advised me of some items not to sell as the market is not hot for them right now. She was just awesome. The money they paid me , paid for my new furniture. they are the real deal. I only had old broken rings and chains.. Bad: There was nothing I didn't like.. more

We went in there with some jewelry and heard the owner yelling at his female employee right in front of us and didn't stop. His "sweet and innocent" disposition is an ACT. Another guy was also very rude to us. I would go out of my way to say "STAY AWAY" from this place. more

Went there to sell some old silver coins. Walked in and as soon as I showed them the coins they talked down to me like I wasn't human and offered me $80 for 8ounces of silver which was at $18 an ounce. They didn't even take the time to weight it or anything. Went down the street and got $130 for it. Bunch of scammers you're better off going to anyone else. more

A freind of mine took a watch to airport plaza jewelers to sell and recieved an offer of $200.00 He smelling a rat went to one more dealer and was offered $2400.00 and sold it and I heard this from many others also. They are not professionals but rather prey on the little guy who is not knowledgeable about the value of what he has and shoo out of their chicken coop anyone who has a hint of what their item might be worth. Just look at their commercials, there a joke just like their business is. Don't trust them, the're frauds. Sure, they will offer you some miserable amount but rest assured there are more refined and reputable dealers who will be honest and much higher paying than the foolish and decieving Henhouse that airport plaza jewelers portrays themselves to be. How stupid do they think the public is? What an ego maniac Don Hoffman and his chicken factory is. more

False advertising.. "WE BUY IT" is one big lie. Don't even bother to waste your time on this place!!!! I walked in with a 14K Diamond ring and received the rudest NO I have ever heard. These kind of people make me sick. more

You've got to understand that when you buy a brand new piece of jewelry, you're paying not only for the materials that make it up but also for the labor and the label attached to it. This is why it's so expensive. When you go to sell it to a business that buys gold like Airport Plaza Jewelers, they are only going to offer you money based on the weight & carat of the gold. A small ring, pendant, or chain does not weigh much so you're not going to get a lot of money for it. Most pieces of jewelry are bought for the metal so they can be melted down to make new jewelry. If there are small gems in the item, it usually isn't worth saving them because it takes a great deal of work to extract them & smell stones usually get damaged in this process. This is why even if your jewelry has lots of diamonds or other precious gems in it, they are only going to offer you money based on the weight of the gold. You're better off selling it privately, & the people at Airport Plaza Jewelers will tell you this. Everyone at APJ is very friendly & helpful. They give an honest evaluation of your jewelry & pay fair prices for what they buy. They're happy to look at your jewelry for you if you're not sure what it is you have. They also have a nice selection of jewelry for sale as well. more

This place was awful, the girl who took care of us, yes the one in the commercials, took us for a ride. We were looking into selling an old wedding band, that was purchased from an extremely reputable jeweler. The yellow gold band had diamonds in it, originally paid $500.00 for this mens band, they only offered $15 for it. How PATHETIC!!! We then returned to the original jeweler who gave us FULL VALUE of the ring, $500.00, allowed towards a new purchase. Thank goodness for that. These people ar just a bunch of scam artists who take people for their money!!!! more

I bought a piece of jewelry from this place that was costume jewelry. Yeah it gave my neck a rash but it was pretty heavy for a piece of costume jewelry. I'm also impressed that a company that has been reported to have sales of over $1 million per year would sell this type of stuff, but they're really on top of things there, suiting every type of customer. more

I recently took what has become a family heirloom to these folks - it is the wedding band which belonged to my uncle/godfather who passed away. He and my aunt never had children, and I am their only godson. I will proudly be wearing the wedding band at my wedding on May 26th thanks to Don and his staff. They were able to stretch the 50 year old gold band so that it would fit! There was no cutting of the ring, and the engraving inside the ring was not the least bit disturbed! Thanks again, Airport Plaza Jewelers, for providing such excellent service. This ring will remain in my family as I intend to pass it on over the years. By the way, you won't meet a friendlier group of people, and with the wide selection of jewelry they have, you're bound to find a real treasure! more
