Best

Our food came out on time and was prepared just right. I would recommend this place to a hungry person the portions are huge! Service as ok but the food made up for it! I

Worst

We went on a Sunday night around 7:30pm. The service was extremely slow--we waited over an hour for our entree to be served, and there were only 3 or 4 other parties in the resta...

Beautiful Decor, Excellent Service, and Very Yummy Food!!! 9/27/2008

Having reviewed City Search restaurant reviews, we found Aioli Bodega Espanola, a.k.a. Aioli's in downtown Sacramento. The reviews were almost all five star so we thought we'd give it a try. The inside is decorated like a fine art museum with impressionist-like paintings that probably should be in a fine art museum. There was a classical guitar player playing inside but we opted for the patio instead. We had yummy food, wine, and our waiter, ""Jiji"", was this really distinguished looking fellow who selected the perfect wine for each of our appetizers and entrees. In summary, this place is really something!!! Pros: Super atmosphere, food, wine, and service, and free city parking for 2 hours!!! Cons: Zip more

Paella to Die For!!!! 9/23/2008

Came here for a romantic first date and shared a heaping serving of Paella, an excellent choice by my new man, a pilot no less!!!! The paella was fantastic as was the customer service. Definitely recommended!! Pros: Romantic Hot Spot more

Great Customer Service 9/23/2008

My parents came down to visit yesterday and took me and my roommate out to dinner at Aioli's, a cute restaurant located not too far away from the country-style train station in Davis. I was going to let people know that we really enjoyed the food, which was really tasty, but it was the customer service that blew us away! You really feel like you are someone special when you eat at this place. Having been to Paris with my parents last summer, it is easily very comparable to eating at a nice restaurant in Paris. The waiters move around like clock work and we didn't wait long to be seated or served. The owner of the restaurant even stopped by our table to make sure that everything was ok. All in all a really nice place to eat. Pros: Super Customer Service, Tasty Food more

Rude and inconsiderate owner 9/22/2008

Beware, Aioli Bodega Espanola is not a community restaurant. The owner is selfish, rude, and inconsiderate. Do you really want to support a restaurant like this despite their ambiance, decor, and food? Pros: Good location for a restaurant Cons: Horrible location to park your car more

Yummy Tapas and Unique Beer Selection 9/18/2008

Never had tapas (Spanish appetizers) and beer like those offered at this restaurant. A great place for a date or party...they have a huge private room and all of the tables are made of shiny copper... definitely have to check this place out if you haven't already. more

Awesome Paella and Great Service!!! 9/18/2008

After watching Oprah's cooking special on Paella, me and the girls searched out Paella in Davis and only found one place that served it... Aioli's, formally known as Aioli Bodega Espanola. It was awesome. The order we had was big enough for all four of us!!!! Also, the waiters and bartenders are cute... super plus. Apparently Aioli is a garlic mayonaise, bodega a type of restaurant in Spain, and Espanola means Spanish... as explained to us by Chef Abby, who came out personally to see how we liked the food...nice touch. The wine was also very good and apparently hard to find anywhere else in California. Pros: Great Food and Service, Hotty Waiters more

Delicious 9/11/2008

Came here with my brother's family on the way back from Tahoe. The food was very delicious and the inside was beautifully decorated. The consensus is that we have to come back again. We are half French and know good food having grown up with good food. A must eat! Pros: Delicious Food more

Awesome Food - Thanks City Search!! 9/11/2008

On the way back from Tahoe, my family and I we were looking for a good place to eat after a great day at the beach. We typed in ""restaurants and sacramento"" and found City Search restaurant reviews. We clicked on Aioli's, the top-ranked restaurant under the most reviewed restaurants heading on the restaurant page, and found a real treasure in Davis, CA. The food here is so good, it's almost a sin to enjoy it as we did. Our server said that there is another restaurant just like it in Sacramento, and that the owners also operate Aioli's at The Grand Wine Bar in Sacramento. We'll have to check them out on the way back up to Tahoe. We thought we were spoiled with good food in San Francisco!!!! Aioli's gives SF restaurants a run for their money for sure!!! Pros: Superb Food Cons: Too far from San Francisco more

Great Customer Service 9/11/2008

I found myself strolling around downtown Davis and came upon Aioli Bodega Espanola, a Spanish restaurant with some really fantastic flavors and excellent customer service. When I came in, I was promptly greeted by the Parisian Manager, Ludovic, who set me up at the bar with a nice foreign lager to wet my summer throat. He was very charismatic and beautiful women and men strolled in over the course of my lager to pay him homage. As soon as I finished my cold drink, Maria, my server, seated me and I set forth to treat myself to several mouth-watering dishes I absolutely loved. She did not bother me every two minutes, as some servers do, but when I wanted my check, she was very attentive and quickly brought it over to me. Also, the copper and brass work here is something out of this world. You are greeted by a huge ancient bronze statue and there are huge copper bulls, and copper bars, and copper lamps and tables, mixed in with abstract art from another artist. Aioli's is an island of sophistication in a town full of otherwise bland food establishments. I highly recommend eating here, if not for the food and service, then for decor alone. Pros: Great Food and Customer Service Cons: Zero more

Aioli Bodega Restaurants and Wine Bars - Most Delicious Restaurants in Northern California? 9/6/2008

Having previously eaten with some friends at Aioli's in Midtown Sacramento, we were not suprised to find that Aioli's in Davis was equally delicious. This time my boyfriend and I shared the Paella Valenciana (serves 2). This yummy dish has saffron rice with shrimp, seafood & chicken & pork sparerib all mixed into one sensational heaping serving. Morris was our server and recommended yet another exceptional red wine that we had never heard of or tried. It went perfectly with the Paella. My boyfriend and I split the the El Borracho for dessert, a sponge cake layered with fresh fruit & pastry cream, imbibed with malaga wine, along with Chocolate (naturally) con Accento Frances, a chocolate mousse and berries. Even the coffee was exceptional! Apparently, the owner of Aioli's also owns The Grand Wine Bar in midtown and so we are eager to try this place next!!!! Pros: Superb food, wine, and desserts! Cons: There is not one on every corner in every neighborhood. more

Our New Favorite Restaurant 8/31/2008

My wife and I were so impressed with Aioli's in Midtown Sacramento that we thought we'd try Aioli's in Davis to see how it compared, and we were not disappointed. The service and food remain exceptional. Big fans of treating ourselves to good food, it seems impossible to find anything on the Aioli menu that doesn't taste good, as the flavors are so unique, truly like nothing we have ever had before... it is so refreshing to find places like this. I hope they open another restaurant in Granite Bay! Pros: Creative flavors, exceptional service, reasonably priced, and beautiful decor. more

I'd skip this place 10/26/2003

We went on a Sunday night around 7:30pm. The service was extremely slow--we waited over an hour for our entree to be served, and there were only 3 or 4 other parties in the restaurant. The wait staff didn't really take care of us too well either. The food was average, a little bland, and too expensive for what was offered. The atmosphere would have been nice, except that there were young children crying loudly. Pros: nice atmosphere Cons: Slow service, expensive more
