I can't say enough about Dr. Earl and his team. From all the folks behind the counter to the one woman hospitality team, they are superb. My Maggie enjoys every visit. When she's not feeling well, they perk her up. These people genuinely care about pets!!! After adopting Maggie, we soon found out that she had a sever bacterial infection in her lower intestine. Not only was it quickly identified via ultrasound, but we were given a considerable discount (due to our recent adoption and rough financial situation). We had to wait in the car for fear it may be parvo (Maggie was very lethargic, not eating, etc.). I see this as a great consideration for the other pets there. The team brought water/treats out for Maggie and offered me a drink as well (not from the bowl). After various vet visits with our kitties to different locations... FINALLY, we have found our vet!! The warmth, compassion, and genuine love for animals is evident as soon as you walk through the door! more

I have been taking my dog here for about 3 years, I have a 13 year old Golden Retriever that requires monthly injections for arthritis and the staff here are the best, they know my dog by name and are true animal lovers :-) more

Being military we move a lot and upon moving to San Antonio we had to select a new vet for our girls. After doing research I selected Affordable Pet Care and I am sure glad I did. I have never seen so much compassion, caring and love in a Vet's Office. I can't not say enough about the staff there, they are such a blessing. Dr Earl was wonderful and Sassie warmed up to him right away. They will sit and talk to you as long as you need, and also lend a shoulder to cry on if you are having a hard time with your pets needs. I would recommend this office to anyone looking for an awesome place to take your pets. There are no words to say how thankful I am for the way my girl was taken care of! more

We have been taking our 4-legged kids to Affordable Pet Care for 10 years. Every visit - and I do mean EVERY visit- we are treated in a professional and caring manner. They remember our names as well as our dogs. They have been there for us from puppy-hood to euthanasia and have welcomed our rescue pets with zeal and caring. It is unfortunate that we have had to put down 3 dogs in the past 16 months. One of the only reasons we dare to love another dog, is the caring communication from Dr Earl and Dr Gaines. Dr. Earl and his entire staff have gone above and beyond their call of duty!! They are truely concerned about my pet and treat him like their own. I live on the other side of town from Dr. Earl but I do not mind the drive at all! He is more affordable than vets I have used in the past and much more compassionate! They make you forget the negative aspects of going to the doctor and instead, make you feel welcome and comfortable. The staff REALLY cares about the wellness of your pet and of you. Our dog went in for a routine dental and Dr. Earl (the owner) found an anal sac Adenocarcinoma tumor. This type of tumor doesn't usually reveal itself until it has metastisized into the lungs and spine but thanks to Dr. Earl's thorough exam he was able to remove it before it spread and became fatal. Our family feels very blessed and we are eternally grateful! The front office staff is exceptional too! Very cheerful and always greets me cheerful upon arrival by name!. Linda who does the weigh in is always offering coffee to those in the waiting room and takes good care of her clients and THEIR OWNERS! I happened to be there when an a dog was brought in barely breathing and the staff responded quickly and compasionately to the emergency. I highly recommend Affordable Petcare! You will not be sorry! Caring makes the difference has been their motto since I started taking my pets to Affordable Petcare NW. The doctors and staff are compassionate and professional. They offer many services that other places would send you to a specialist for. I have visited my pet in the kennel area after surgery and all the animals were clean, comfy and cozy. Animal drugs are expensive but Affordable Petcare will offer a written prescription to buy meds online or even free samples if they have them. I have seen hundreds of animals come and go while in the waiting room over the years. They looked as if they were satisfied with their experience at the vets. I wish I could say the same for their owners. Lots of rude people ignoring their pets, on cell phones, letting their kids run all over, allowing their dogs to bark on and on without correction, and then yelling at the receptionist for one thing or another while their dog urinates on the chairs. more

Took my cat to get an allergy shot, the vet was very rough with her. He seemed mean and treated me like as if i was a little naive girl. After he told me what medications they were going to have to give my cat I asked how much it would cost and he seemed very rude and sighed loud and left the room to check the price. I was very offended that he sighed when it was not even not that much work to go check how much money i was going to have to pay him and it was a reasonable question. A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO I HAD TAKEN MY MALE CAT TO GET FIXED. I DROPPED HIM OFF ON A THURSDAY EVENING AND FRIDAY AFTERNOON THEY CALLED MY AND TOLD ME OOPS!! WE DECLAWED HIM BY ACCIDENT TOO! I WAS FURIOUS SO WHEN I PICK HIM THE FOLLOWING DAY THEY BROUGHT HIM TO ME IN HIS CRATE NOT BANDAGED STILL FULL OF BLOD ON HIS PAWS AND THE CRATE!!! I WAS SO UPSET AND ONE OF THE WOMEN WHO WORKED AT THE FRONT DESK TELLS ME ""MISS WE DO SO MANY SURGERIES A DAY WERE LIABLE TO MAKE ONE MISTAKE!!!! I TOLD HER I TRUST YOU WITH MY ANIMAL AND YOU HAVE THE NERVE TO TELL ME THAT!! THATS LIKE REMOVING ITS LEGS AND TELLING ME SORRY!!! WELL AFTER THAT I LIVED IN AN APARTMENT SO I HAD TOO SPEND MORE TIME & MONEY TO BUY SEPERATE LITTER AND TAKE HIM TO ANOTHER VET TO FIX THERE MISTAKE! MY HUSBAND CALLED THE VET AND WANTED TO MAKE SURE HE WAS AWARE OF THE HORRIBLE BUTCHERING AND UNCARING STAFF HE HAD. Our kitty jumped from our fireplace and ended up on a chair leg and was shortly afterwards limping and crying. We knew we needed to take her to a vet, but as it was 2:30 in the morning, our options were limited. We ended up taking her to an emergency vet who wanted to charge us over $500 for an exam, an x-ray and a bandage. When I told them I could not afford it, they turned me away. Pros: kind staff, affordable prices, friendly atmosphere Cons: none that I noticed more

The people there were very friendly! The tech and the vet were both very nice to myself and my cats and the receptionists were all very sweet. The price was affordable, as their name states. If I need vet services again, I will definitely go to them. Pros: Short wait time more

I spilled chicken noodle soup on my table and cleaned it up with a towel. When I came back from the movies I discovered my dog had eaten the towel. No big deal, until 2 days later with it was stuck coming out the dog (his name is Snackers). Snackers was scooting all over the rug trying to get it out and it was making brown smears all over the rug. The people here got it out, but they couldn't help me get the stains out of my rug. Pros: They can get towels out of dogs. Cons: They won't clean your rug. more

If you are an animal lover or your cat needs a shot, these are the people to go to. They are friendly and reliable, quick and thorough. I enjoy going to the vet everytime I take my dog there. They even help me out when he (a 110 lb Weimeraner) is out of control. Overall, a great experience everytime, I got lucky that I called them first. more

In reading a few of the other reviews, I was quite suprised... I've been taking my dog there for almost 3 years, and she loves them there! They know her by name and give her hugs and kisses all the time! Some of the receptionists (others claim are so rude) take my dog behind the counter while I check out and give her more love and kisses. Another one even helps me to my car by taking her for me so I can unlock my doors and put her in her seat belt. The techs are so sweet to her, and the vet well my dog loves him so much she can't keep still. A trip to the vet for my dog is a treat for her and for myself. When I took all four of my cats in to be neutured, I was expecting a whopping bill as all of them had to have shots and then be neutured. I was very, very happy with the end price. They gave me a ""group"" deal on them as they were all brothers and all born on the same day. I have always recommended Affordable Pet Care to everyone and have never had ""rude"" treatment by the receptionist or by any of the technicians. Maybe the other people just came on bad days or they were supersensitive, but I have not found this to be true of anybody there. Keep up the good work and keep the prices low. Thanks so much.
