Affordable Automotive

my ex-fiance's car lost its ability to up-shift out of second gear. the check engine light came on appropriately to indicate the electronic sensor to indicate the transmission could finally upshift failed. we drove in second gear for over 60 miles at no more than 40 mph to never exceed 4000 rpm as the mechanical ability of the transmission was never compromised ever! \r \r it was diagnosed the up-shift sensor verified by the check-engine light had failed but then there was a claim the transmission was leaking in which i know was an absolute lie as the fluid level was perfect that week!\r \r the replacement for the sensor and the service to include the repair of the alleged leak was approx. $476.00. i then asked if he had any fire fighter discounts. he said that was the least he could charge so i then directed him to call my ex-fiance's father who was paying the bill.\r \r when this *** wipe knew that da da was going to pay the bill, the estimate then increased to an estimate of $3,500.00 plus for a complete transmission rebuild!\r \r the car was down for over three (3) weeks and allegedly repaired but the only labor was 0.3 hours [18 minutes!!!] to check tire inflation upon their admitted mis-diagnosed electronic issue was mechanical for a new invoice of $1,569.00 at a savings of $2,000.00 to make da da happy upon the $3,500.00 initial lie that was $3,100.00 above the original $476.00 for the sensor replacement that was only needed in the first place!\r \r the replaced oem sensor recently needed replaced as their non-oem part they certified as oem saved 'affordable' automotive that much more yet they charged over $1,100.00 from my original estimate that he didn't feel right to **** a fire fighter like he did my ex-fiance's father!!\r \r do not conduct business with these documented crooks ready to empty any deep wallet in seconds in the name of federal reserve notes just like cal fire is guilty of burning fire figthters for the almighty federal funding to supplement the budget by teaching a non-credentialed math equation that violates every law of physics in a creditialed fire training facility for over 37 years upon raping federal taxpayers for literally hundreds of millions of dollars! to the hell w/ fire fighter safety!!!\r \r every evidenced allegation is found on the net under hftfire or use your favorite search engine for:\r \r 'hydraulicsapp'\r \r ...and then get who the california correctional peace officers association truly is who owes the taxpayers of california a calculated $1 billion in fines i am filing 'for the king!'\r \r search 'caextortion'\r \r why i am so passionate about blowing the whistle on corruption, please see my court entry in the iowa court in and for the county of polk that evidences nine (9) judges are guilty of conspiracy to commit fraud and conspiracy to obstruct justice regarding the felony kidnapping of my morgan and noah on june 9, 2014! that is last year since either of them were able to receive the unconditional love of their daddy!\r \r search 'hftfire'\r \r see how my felon sister and my felon neice as felony instruments for a felon judge hugh swift of calaveras county to secure $22,500.00 upon improper service and the deletion of evidence of five (5) felony counts of perjury and one felony count of conspiracy to commit perjury as this judge commits conspiracy to obstruct justice to secure his 15% cut upon his court order for two (2) restraining orders at $25,000.00 each per year upon federal and state funding for increased law enforcement to calaveras county times three (3) years against this fire captain/peace officer residing over 1,800 miles away in the state of iowa! all in the name to reimburse his election campaign in which he spent ten (10) times his posted salary to secure said hidden monies!\r \r search 'hftfire'\r \r just like alleged 'affordable automotive'... its for your money money money!\r \r disrobe, disbar, and convict to run all of them out of business! more

I trust Affordable Automotive with my vehicles. I have a newer Chevy pickup and an older 1995 Corvette. With my pickup they simply have to perform routine maintenance and with my Corvette, that I like to take over to Thunder Hill Park and push it to its limits, they have their hands full, but it always come back from them ready to go. Affordable Automotive is always honest and reliable and in my opinion for someone to say different does not know Mike and his crew. It's a real hometown auto shop! more

I have been taking my cars to a lot shops over the years and feel I know a good/ great shop when I see it. Affordable does everything at a high level of service and professionalism. I also know what they are charging before the job starts and it stays that price unless I give the OK. I have no problem telling my friends, family or co-workers about Mike and his shop. I found Mike & crew at Affordable around 5 years ago. Their integrity and expertise in the field of auto repair is 10 out of 10. I bring both my cars here because my families life depends on quality service. I've always been told when something needs fixing and when something doesn't. Once I brought my car in for an oil change and it was put "out of service" because of a safety issue. I've also gone in thinking I need a major tune up and left with an oil change. They take the time to explain what's needed and when. My wife and I refer friends and family with the utmost confidence that they too will receive quality service.\r Thank you. more

They remember my name and what make of car I drive. I can stop by any time to ask their advice and have them check something out that concerns me. more

All the reviews on this site are positve, which leads me to believe they edit most. My experience with this company is VERY POOR and I will never recommend them to anyone I like. I am embarrased my daughter took her car to this company and got ripped off for over $1700.00 and on top of that, they wouldn't even give her one gallon of gasoline to get the car home!! Their prices are exhorbitant and their service is even slower. Most automotive business will look/diagnose your car problems for free, they charged my daughter $134.63 just to look at it! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS BUSINESS. more

I have been using Affordable Automotive since they opened their doors. I have taken my Ford, Chevrolet, Toyota, Jeep, Honda, Nissan and Lexus to Mike and have had top notch smog checks, service and repair perfomed at very"Affordable" pricing.\r The staff is courteous, helpful and knowledgeable. Recently my Lexus had oil leaking out of the transfer case which could have cost me $3,000.00 to repair. Mike took the time to check into the factory service reports and found that it was a factory defect not normally covered under the warranty. He advised me to contact the dealership and even offered to make the call for me. I made the call and the dealership repaired my oil leak at no cost. Not only did I save the cost of the repair but Mike's honesty and his willingness to go the extra mile for his customers cost him $3,000.00. My father was in the business of fixing cars for years and when he was no longer able he took us to Affordable Automotive where we have always been treated with respect and great service. Affordable Automotive is a terrible shop. They are unhelpful and not very knowledgeable. I went in for a smog test and, instead of telling me it would be an instant fail, they screwed me out of $40 and lied to my face while they did it. I was talking to the technician performing the test and he told me that everything looked fine, even though I found out later that he had already failed my car. He also tried to tell me that I could go to DMV and get a temporary driving permit, which I had to explain to him was not available to anyone anymore. Personally, I would expect shops that do smog tests to understand basic smog laws. The only thing they put any effort into was trying to set up another appointment for me to come back. I won't be going back there, and no one else should either unless they want to get ripped off. more

I have had nothing but good experiences. their prices live up to their name but the quality of work that you get is superb. all the techs are very knowledgeable and even helped me figure out why my car was failing smog without charging me for a diagnostic. finding a mechanic you know you can trust is difficult. in my opinion, these guys are the best in town. more

I recommend Affordable Automotive to all of my friends. For an auto repair shop, they are as good as they come. I never like having to go there, but I think they do a good job. I have been using them over ten years. I have taken both of my kids cars there as well as my own car. I value their input. I seek their opinions before buying a car, especially a used car. I ask them which make and model of car they recommend given a particular budget, and which ones to avoid. They very honest and they provide good advice. more

I have been going to Affordable Automotive for about 9 years now, and I have absolute faith in them. They have done quite a bit of work for me over that time, including a new transmission, and they pretty much overhauled my jeep. I have referred them to quite a few people, and now a lot of people I know go to them. And I always get great, timely service. One time I took my car in with no gas and they gave it back to me with half a tank for no charge. If something is making noise but a repair is not needed, they tell me rather than recommending an unnecessary repair. I trust them completely and I have no complaints. more
