Affordable Air Duct Cleaners

Horrible company. They have already been paid for the service thru Groupon. Took two months to get my first appointment. The night before, they called to reschedule. Were supposed to be at my home yesterday. They were a no call/no show. I tried calling them for over an hour, no luck reaching a live person. Only put on hold with music.... I have been scammed! more

I spent $84 on a chimney inspection. After two scheduled appointments where no represenative showed up (and I took six hours off work)...an employee finally showed up on the third appt. The represenative walked into my house, looked up the chimney, told me that the fireplace was fine (we had a “clear line of site”) and walked back out to his unmarked truck. I was shocked and asked him if he was finished his “inspection” (yes) and asked him what was normally included in a chimney inspection because I paid quite a bit of money (that was the entire inspection). I tried to ask additional questions about the condition of the fireplace and persuade him to do some sorta work – but he just ignored me and got onto this phone. After going back inside my home, he knocked on my door a few minutes later and asked for a $15 “travel fee” and to sign a contract. I refused to do both and after some arguing he finally left. more

i purchased a prepaid service through one of those online discount coupon deals. when the tech came out from the Affordable Air Duct Cleaners, he told me i had more intake/returns then what the coupon allowed and his boss said he would have to charge an additional $150. i said just do what the coupon allowed for and was then told they could not do "partial jobs". if i had paid the additional $150 in addition to what the "coupon" cost me originally, i would have been over paying for this type of service in my area as compared to what my neighbors have paid for in the past with similar houses. this is a classic case of bait and switch- very shady business practices- i would never trust them let. more

I couldn't agree more with previous reviews. So unprofessional and rude. And poor quality service. First, the guy came 3 hours late, he was running around my house trying to finish everything as fast as possible. It rained out, but he didn't bother to clean his shoes before walking on my white rugs. Second, he charged us extra money to clean additional return and main vents which, and the blower. He said we had to clean those or they won't guarantee us their services. So, we said OK. Next, after he left, I checked all the vents and saw that they were filthy. I even have pictures which I took as a proof in case I had to take them to court (which I would have done if they didn't come back to fix the problem). I called and complained so the guy came back and "fixed the problem areas". His explanation was he didn't have appropriate brush for cleaning corners of the return (rectangle shape) vent. Stay away from them!!!! more

Read the reviews above and believe them. This is the worst company I ahve EVER dealt with. They are rude and unprofessional, and not at all helpful. I scheduled an appointment, only to have them not show up or call. When I called the office, they insisted someone had called me to cancel. Well, that didn't happen and I wasted several hours waiting for them. Then I asked to rescuedule. The woman on the phone had an attitude, and continually interrupted me. Iasked her nicely to please allow me to finish a sentence so I could tell her what days and times would work for me. She became annoyed with me and told me that I had an attitude and she didn't have to listen to it. I just got off the phone with her. I called a couple of days later, hoping to get someone else on he phone. I rescheduled and selected a date and time they indicated was available. Two days prior to my appointment, one of the women with the attitude called me and left a message asking me to call back, and gave the main phone number. I called back, and the woman who answered the phone asked why I called. I told her I was returning their call. She said, "Do you know how many people I talk to every day?!?" I said I was sorry, that was all the information that I was given. She sighed and asked me 2 more times what my name and address were. Once she found my file or something, she said "Oh, we wanted to know if you could reschedule." I said no, and explained this was the second appointment and I really didn't want to wait any longer. She said "Oh, OK, then someone will be there at 9:00" and we got off the phone. I'm sure you know what's coming next...another no call/no show. When I called that day, she said they had rescheduled me. I said they hadn't, rather they asked in I could and I said no. And they were fine with that and confirmed my appointment. They certainly didn't reschedule or cancel. So now here is my dilemma. This was a Groupon, so do I try again with the same rude people in that office, or just give up? more

Most reviews address how difficult this company was to deal with in scheduling. I have another issue on top of that one! I prepaid with a groupon, like most others. Upon arrival, the tech went through the whole house. he stated that it was an additional $70.00 for a blower cleaning, $20 for a antibacterial cleaner to be used and $12 additional per duct over 12. I can understand the additional ducts and had no problem with that, but I rejected the other services. The tech went out to call his boss from Brooklyn NY and came back in saying he was told to only do it for an additional $20.00 for gas money since the crossed state lines. I obviously refused that charge! Now comes the cleaning. Several vents were not done. The return, which is 8 ft 6 inches (10 ft ceilings) off the ground was not done. When I asked he said he opened it up and did it, I did not see him during the 30 minutes he cleaned 15 vents, the main and the return! At this point, I just wanted to be done with it. I paid the additional in cash and parted ways. Unfortunately, the tech did not use the driveway to leave and took out the mailbox on his way across the lawn. When confronted down the road, he had no idea he was driving over a mailbox. He called his boss, his boss said to return the $36.00. The tech was actually nice. In my opinion, was completely embarrassed by his superior on the phone and that he was working for this horrible company. more

I scheduled 3 appointments to redeem my Groupon with Affordable Air Duct Cleaners, none of which have resulted in redemption. The day before the first appt I was called by a company rep to request that I call them the next day to reschedule as their van had broken down and they are closing down the office for the day. The next day I called and rescheduled for a 2-hr window on the upcoming Sunday. I understand that problems can arise and I appreciate that they initiated the rescheduling, but it was all downhill from there. The result was a no show/no call by the company on that Sunday. I called them the following day to let them know of the problem, and the rep simply wondered if I would like to reschedule ... with no apology and no explanation for the no show. After my questioning, the rep eventually explained, with an attitude, that the dispatcher on duty the previous day did not do her job and was fired. There was then giggling in the background and I was placed on hold while she "checked for the next available time to schedule my service." When she returned to the line she apologized for taking so long, but she was "very busy answering calls and was the only one working." Really? Then who was giggling? She offered me a time between 11 and 1 even though I requested a time after 2! Eventually and hesitantly (only because this service was already paid for with a Groupon) I rescheduled the appt at an acceptable time for 3 weeks in the future. I asked that they call to confirm the appt the day before. She assured me they would call to confirm. The date of the third appt arrived. I did not receive a confirmation call. They, again, did not show up at my house to perform the service. Strike three!! I will not waste another minute being treated unprofessionally on the phone only to then sit around for several hours waiting for another no show!! more

First, I made the appointment and was told they would arrive between 1:00 and 3:00pm so I made arrangements for someone to be at the house while I was at work. I called at 3:30 because I hadn't heard anything from the company or technician about them being late. I was told they were running late and would arrive at 4:30. When I asked why I was not notified that they were running late, I was told the guy was so busy he couldn't call. Really? After arguing with the woman, I was able to negoitiate a discount on anything I needed in addition to the Groupon. At 5:15 the technician finally arrived. Over 2 hours after the window ended. Great. He was literally in the house for only 30 minutes carelessly throwing his materials around all over my new hardwood floors. After he left, I went downstairs to see that he did not even put the main unit back together, but left all the covers off. After all that, instead of them taking the Groupon off, I was charged $244 instead of $93. It took them a week and a half to reimburse me and even then it was through Paypal. So I was inconvienenced even more. I really discourage anyone from using this company. more

I would give it Zero starts but I dont know if that would even register. They didnt show up at all, they didnt call, they didnt return my calls when I left messages, so I waited an entire afternoon hoping they would show up. Dont waste your money, time, or patience. Go find someone reputable. more

Very unprofessional outfit. The website is misleading as far as chimney sweeps go. Under the heading chimney sweeps, it details each step they will take when they arrive at your house, and have pricing listed underneath that paragraph. However, the pricing is for a solo chimney/fireplace cleaning, which consists of one wire brush inserted into the chimney and a shop vac for the fireplace, not the service described online. For a 12-2 appt for a chimney cleaning, they arrived at 730 pm. The person who arrived was not only unfriendly but answered questions in a defensive and irritated manner. When I called the company to express my disappointment, I was met with rude and unconcerned manner, not even an apology. I would not recommend this company to anyone. more

Alex was willing to come to our home to fix an urgent problem even though he was already working late on another job. He is very reliable, affordable and thoughtful. We will certainly call this business again. more

The Cleaning Guy arrived, inspected the job and explained everything that needed to be done in a very professional and courteous manner. He worked very hard to remove the debris that was inside the dryer vent. I was very pleased with the service provided from start to finish and would recommend Affordable Air Duct Cleaners to both family and friends. more

I've got two dogs and no matter how much I clean, I feel the air is not clean enough. I went on the internet and did a little research. I found Affordable Air Duct Cleaners online and called them up. They sent out their guy, he made some great suggestions, and cleaned the vents to perfection. My home smells so much better and the air is much purer. I'm so glad I made this decision. more
