We have 32 year old Subzero refrigerator which stopped working when there was a power outage. Our technician advised us to repair it, and after considerable delays installed a new compressor, for $1200, but the refrigerator did not work. He was no longer available to service the unit, and a new repairman came out and said it was leaking freon and we should replace the compressor. At this point I called Subzero in Wisconsin. They said these units were designed to work 20 to 25 years, and they would NEVER advise repair for one this old. I then talked to two other repair services who agreed with the mfr. So was it even ethical to recommend repair? On top of that the telephone service experiecne was terrible throughout,
