Are for people needing assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) but wishing to live as independently as possible, for as long as possible. Assisted living facilities offer help with ADLs such as eating, bathing, dressing, laundry, housekeeping, and assistance with medications.
Assisted living facilities are usually large communities but can also be a smaller community. (A smaller community may be ideal for your love one that may need a little more assistance throughout the day). Meals are served in a dining room setting. Social activities and outings are usually planned on a monthly basis. These activities are not mandatory but are highly recommended. Laundry, housekeeping, medication management and transportation to doctor appointments are provided as well.
Upon admission, a personalized assessment is done in order for the facility to offer the correct care the resident will require. The assessment is updated regularly to assure that the resident receives the appropriate care as his or her condition changes.
