Can take place in a large or a small community. These homes are especially designed to assist your love ones who have Alzheimer's or other forms of Dementia. Special courses and/or seminars are provided for the staff to expand their knowledge in the care of Alzheimer/Dementia patients. These courses will consist of how to care for your loved ones with behavioral problems, such as depression, confusion and even violent behaviors.
As a person ages, a certain amount of memory loss and confusion is quite normal. These facilities are capable to handle this aspect of a senior's aging process. As the senior becomes more confused and possibly may begin to wander, they may require a more secured facility with alarms on all windows and doors.
These facilities with these additional licenses will provide excellent care for Alzheimer's patients. Private rooms are available as well as Semi-private rooms, which are sometimes preferred by seniors to avert loneliness and isolation.
Upon admission, a personalized assessment is done in order for the facility to offer the correct care the resident will require. The assessment is updated regularly to assure that the resident receives the appropriate care as his or her condition changes.
