Review content:
Are usually private homes and are licensed for no more than five residents.
They provide the same services as an ALF; only they are able to provide more one on one care. In this community, the senior is in a home-like atmosphere with either a private room or a shared room (no more than two in a shared room). Meals, laundry, housekeeping, medication management and transportation to doctor appointments are provided. There is always a caregiver on the premises at all times.
These homes provide various levels of care. Many homes can care for non-ambulatory residents and can assist with dressing, bathing, eating and continence issues. Some are able to accommodate seniors with Dementia/Alzheimer issues. Other health issues can be cared for as well. As with Assisted Living Facilities, assessments are updated regularly to assure that the resident receives the appropriate care as his or her condition changes.
