Adoption Connection

Unfortunately, the one other review I read on this agency is similar to the experience I am having. Promptly responded in my interest to use her service for my birth parent search, she cashed my check, and now 5 months later will not respond to multiple efforts to contact her, despite her letter stating to contact her every six weeks. She wrote about attending their support groups but did not reveal when and where they are happening, and will not answer my emails/calls requesting that info. Very discouraging and seemingly taking advantage of something very personal and difficult for adoptees. Contacted better business bureau. I recommend not using them. I'm glad to be able to write this review. I had been going back and forth in my mind about using The Adoption Connection to help me search for my biological family. I could not find any reviews anywhere on them, however I did find one family who had used them and had a successful search but from what they said there was a lot of information.\r Any way I had 2 contacts with Susan (the founder/owner) and after she got my $300 I have not heard from her at all. I have called and emailed her over a dozen times and she will not respond to me. There are supposed to be support meetings but no one will tell me when and where they are. I gave them my money in Nov of 07. It is now May of 08. I would be very hesitant to use them and give them money.\r I used them because Susan sounded so sincere and understanding. She even told me that it would take a while but to feel free to call after a few months to check on how things were going. I am not an expert on search professionals but I would expect people who worked in this field to be sympathetic and want to talk to you as often as you felt necessary. \r Again, stay clear of this organization.
