I called Acrotex a week in advance to see if my 3 1/2 year old son could try a class, which they advertise on their website. They said there was no problem, I ask if the class was just for girls they said no, so I gave them my phone number and information. The day came for the class, we drove there and once we arrived the lady at the front desk, with a horrible attitude of disdain, asks us what we wanted. I politely told her I called a week ago to try a class with my kid, then she asks me how old was she? I told her HE is a 3 1/2 year old boy. She looked at me for a second, probably processing that He was a boy, then pretended to look for something on the desk then said to me wait in here let me see. She disappeared and minutes later came back saying the class is full so he can't go in. I told her that we called in advance, that I left my phone number so they could give me a call if there was any cancellation. She looked at me like she could not care less and said; well I guess someone just walked in minutes before you and sign for the class so he can't do it. I was amazed for being treated like that not even an apology, be polite at least say sorry, the least they could do. I understand I did not pay for it, it was a trial class but some common sense on calling or apologizing, respect your costumers. Why in the world will you advertise and promote a trial class if you don't even care about people interested on signing up for it? I really doubt they had my info anyway, otherwise she would have known I was bringing a BOY and not a girl.
I told her politely again, because you can't argue with people that doesn't care, that I could not believe it so she said, well you can try on Thursday afternoon again. I looked at her and could not believe what she was saying, really? you think I am so dumb to try again when I know for sure they will probably tell me the same story: ""someone JUST walked in and signed up for the class minutes before you walked in""
Well, very sad that they discriminate boys from gymnastics, I thought our country was well passed the discriminating era!! Sad to realize it is not true.
So, If you want to try a class and you happen to have a boy, follow my advice DO NOT GO TO ACROTEX!! go somewhere else.
