Editorial review from Citysearch 10/2/2013

Ackley's is the only place I would bring my electronics from now on. Instead of throwing your stuff away ask Jim for his opinion on the economics of repair vs buying new. He will give you a straight up answer, is a top notch electronics repair man and probably save you a good deal of money.\r Jim helped me diagnose the issue with my 6 yr old Panasonic TV over the phone and when all was said and done, worked like new with nothing out of pocket.\r more

Great Service 9/23/2010

Jim was able to schedule us promptly, within 3 days of our call. He arrived at our home well prepared. He was able to diagnose the issue with our set quickly, and made the repairs, which required soldering connections within the set to complete, while we waited. He then serviced the set and made some recommendations on setting to improve performance. Jim left the work area as clean as when he arrived. Well trained, well prepared, professional. His estimate for repairs is exactly what we paid. I would recommend Jim Ackley to anyone needing TV or audio equipment repair. more

Great service and in-home too 9/2/2010

We have Sony 61"" rear screen projection TV. We really enjoy the ""big screen"" vs the letterbox formats of the new sets. When the picture became blurry and lost brightness we were concerned that we were facing an expensive repair (or the unthinkable, a new TV). We found Jim Ackley's In Home TV Repair by doing a Google search for TV repair services in our area. The review on CitySearch indicated that he stood by his estimates and did quality in-home repairs. Our experience lived up to the reviewer's experience. Instead of ordering a replacement circuit board, Jim found the bad components (two capacitors) and replaced them. He did all of the troubleshooting and repairs in one visit. He carried the replacement parts in his vehicle. What more could you ask!! more

Repairs done while you wait, in your home! 9/16/2009

My TV needed repair, and looking online I saw what the problem likely was. People were saying that their repairs cost $300-400. One guy had to wait months (with his TV at the shop!) for Samsung to ship the part. Preparing for the worst, I emailed a few people asking if they could do the fix, and how much it would cost. Jim Ackley responded quickly with a phone call, confirming it was the problem that I thought. He gave me a very reasonable estimate ($205) and we set up a time. He arrived at my house on time, and was very friendly. He fixed the TV and charged me exactly what he estimated--no surprise fees! The convenience of having it fixed quickly, and in my home (no dragging around a TV) was great! On his way out the door I asked him for an estimate on how to fix my dad's TV, and instead of giving me an estimate, he gave me some tips on things to try for free! Pros: Cheaper than the competition, done in your home, friendly! more
