Thank you so much for repairing the zipper on my day pack. After years of looking for the 'perfect' pack I found this one. In some ways it is my 'brain'. Certainly keeps me organized. This is a phenomenal resource for those of us whose luggage has been damaged. Joel gives a quick an honest appraisal of the problem -- actually beginning the repair in the process -- and weighs the +s and -s of repair versus replace. He fixed the pullout handle on my suircase, which was broken and jammed into the channel, in less than 15 minutes while I waited. I highly recommend! Don't thrown that suitcase away until you check with Joel to see if it can saved. The shop is just a short drive from the ABQ Sunport. more

Wow! How refreshing...on the spot repair, I didn't know people still did that. Joel was about to leave the shop, but stayed to make sure i was taken care of. He repaired my guitar case quickly and with great care. And didn't charge me enough. I was blown away by his customer service. I feel i've made a new friend. I brought two suitcases that needed fixing in their zippers. Joel promptly examined both of them and made speedy repairs. What is so great about it that he did not suggest the most expensive fixes, instead, all of the fixes he suggested are practical and more importantly, economical. I stopped in thinking I'd have to leave my borken suitcase and wait a week or so. Joel quickly got the zipper unstuck and explained the cost advantages of repairing over replacing the zipper. He repaired the suitcase while I waited so now the handle extends and I can zip it shut. When I asked how much he just smiled and said ""a couple of dollars is fine"". I had no cash and could not leave without paying for his time and expertise. He just smiled when I said I'd be back. I did go back with fair payment. And I will continue bringing all repairs to his shop - and I travel a lot so I need luggage repair frequently. more

He fixed my broken computer backpack strap while I waited and it cost only $14. It ended up being convenient for me. Seemed like a nice guy. more

I took my torn-zipper luggage in to Joel on his day off and he repaired it while I waited! He did a super job and was quite friendly - especially considering it was his day off. Joel was able to fix the 96 inch zipper on our favorite tent. A new slider, 10 minutes and $25.00, you can't beat that for value! He was friendly, efficient and an interesting conversationalist. more

After having read the only other review of this wonderful little shop, I felt compelled to counter the previous costumer's experience with my own. The first time I visited the store was to have my favorite, expensive leather tote repaired. Not only was I surprised with how quickly Joel Grieshaber (the owner) was able to repair it, but how affordable the repair price was. Once you step foot into the store, it is obvious that experience and friendly service has kept this shop in business. Minimum service fees are clearly displayed and if desired, a customer can have their repair ""rushed"" for a mere $5. The second time I needed a bag repaired, Joel repaired the item in front of me allowing me to avoid a second trip to the store to pick up the bag. He also showed me how to fix the zipper if a similar problem were to happen again. Tell your friends and your family about this great repair shop for any type of bag, purse, luggage repair needed! more

This is the first time I've ever written a bad review on the net and I am only doing it because it was such an oddly and unnecessarily bad experience that I feel compelled to save some other sucker. I went on a friend's recommendation to have two grommets repaired in a favorite purse. I dropped it off on a Saturday, the owner who does the work wasn't there, so I left it for him to look at and see if he could match the remaining grommets, and also to call with an estimate (which is written on the receipt)--importantly, I told them there was no rush, I just wanted the work done well. A few days later I got a message to call for my estimate, when I called a few minutes later, the guy said ""your bag is done."" I was concerned, he assured me that he matched the grommets perfectly. I picked it up-- my blue sued hobo bag is ruined with some weird industrial looking grommets that have not nearly enough resemblance to the rest of the bag. On top of that the guy had written ""rush"" on my ticket (which also says ""estimate"") and had charged me an additional fee. My hypothesis is that this is how this guy who runs a small business is making it through his week. At the least it was thoughtlessness and poor workmanship, at the worst it was dishonesty and taking advantage. I have to recommend against doing business with this business owner.
