Lunch is good but not the Dinner 7/24/2008

I have been to this place quite a few times. Found buffet, good and above expectation with respect to quality, taste & verities available. However evening snacks & dinner are not that good. I am writing this b?coz I found ?Idly? that was not fresh. ?Dosa?, which was over cooked on excess heat having burning smell. ?Biryani? Taste was horrible and we have to leave it as it is. more

Kub Shundor Khabar!! 5/25/2008

Eat here if you are craving real Indian home cookin'. This place will take you back to the streets of Kalcuta, Dhaka or Dehli. The ambiance is perfect! Just a little tacky fake flower decor w/ Indian pop music blairing! Pros: Authenticity Cons: next to K-Mart more

Eat here if you are craving real Indian home cookin'. This place will take you back to the streets of Kalcuta, Dhaka or Dehli. The ambiance is perfect! Just a little tacky fake flower decor w/ Indian pop music blairing! The lack of customer service is expected and appreciated, quite frankly. It's an Indian restaurant, not Arby's. Not every dining culture is the same. WARNING: This place is for true Indian food lovers. If you're looking for an elegant dining experience and have never been to the subcontinent, go somewhere else. Pros: Authenticity Cons: next to K-Mart more

Way good Indian Food 3/9/2008

This is some of the best Indian restaurants I have ever tasted. My girlfriend and I stopped in here last week and shared the buffet to go at a park down the road. All of the flavors in the selections complimented each other perfectly. The tandori chicken is some of the best I have ever had. more

Worst Service and Food I have ever Tasted 2/9/2008

Sorry to say that I have to write this about a place that so many people say is good Indian food. I have to admit, I was not at all impressed by the food and the service. The food tasted so greasy with a taste of almost like a burning Goodyear tire. The Pakora consisted of literally spoiled peppers. The other appetizer was a crepe of some sort of potato mixture that was dug up from the garbage can. Pros: Butter Chicken Cons: Everything else more

The other appetizer was a crepe of some sort of potato mixture that was dug up from the garbage can. The service was like giving your order to a 1st grader. It was all wrong, and it was all delivered to the wrong table. I really think they don't have a concept of what good customer service is, along with not speaking English. I was with a person that knew Indian food very well, and we walked away very disappointed. This place really is terrible! With the worst Indian food I have ever tasted. Among the Very Best in U.S. !!!! 12/21/2007

Having lived in Indian communities in East Africa as long as 30 years ago, have ever since been enthralled with Indian food and cooking. For the past ten plus years my job as a professional tennis coach has taken me to the far corners of the earth. At virtually every location visited I sought out Indian restaurants and especially buffet to sample the widest selection of foods offered. Well imagine my surprise when having already been disappointed by the Indian buffets I had found in the NorthWest US I stumbled across Abhiruchi in Beaverton. Even arriving towards the end of the buffet - sometimes a bad omen at less professional establishments with only leftovers remaining - the wide array of dishes all seemed to be as if just served up. And what an array it was from lamb vindaloo to vegetable Korma and on and on spicy Tamarind soup and a selection of vegetable and chicken dishes that would leave few without at least a number of desired taste treats. It should be noted that this is the first time I ever felt compelled to leave a review for anything on line. Additionally, the side sauces were not limited to a chutney or two with mint sauce, was instead represented by about 10 sauces, many of which I had never sampled before. Likewise, the desserts offered were far better than the rice pudding and white Jurgens lotion tasting offerings of most Indian buffets. Do yourself a major favor, find this place and enjoy as much as I did. On reaching for a business card I mentioned to the cashier that I would be placing it prominently in my wallet, so that in case of emergency I could be immediately rushed to their restaurant rather than a hospital !!!! Enjoy. P.S. Service was quick and friendly - each time we went up for another plate of food our dirty plates were cleared from the table and our water glasses refilled. The music selection was perfect. I'm in love. Pros: Everything from the professional quality food to the background music to the attentive service. Cons: That I didn't find it on my earlier visits to this area !!!! more

Easily the best Inidian food around, YOU HAVE TO TRY THE BUFFET! 3/15/2007

My girlfriend and I have been going to the lunch buffet here for easily 4 years (with dinners in between), averaging at least once a month if not more. The food is great, it is as good or better than any place in Portland and the surrounding areas - and beleive me, we have tried a lot of places. The buffet is the biggest we've seen, the most diverse and overall the best quality. You even have a choice of three deserts, let alone something like 10 entrees, sodas, soups, sides and more. You simply have to go check it out... Pros: Lunch buffet is the best in town Cons: Appearance could be updated more

Real North-Jersey Indian Lover's Dream Meal... 2/12/2007

How can I say this? Abhiruchi is THE BEST Indian food we've had in the North West, hands down. We've tried many MANY other restaurants - all sorely disappointing. Not a single negative comment to say, stop by and try one of your favorites, you will not be disappointed. Pros: North-Indian recipes of epic prorportion. Cons: Tired decoration. more

My favorite restaurant 1/29/2007

This indian food is absolutely the best I have ever had, and I am a HUGE fan of indian food. The service is always good, although I drink so much water while I'm there sometimes I wish they would just leave the pitcher. :) I always get the ""dinner"" with what I order, as I love all the sides, and the mango ice cream for dessert. It's so much food, that I eat all the sides while I am there with about half the rice, and take the main course (the best part), naan, and remaining rice home for tomorrow's meal (speaking of Naan, they make the best Naan bread I have ever had the pleasure to taste..) My husband usually finishes everything in one sitting! They have a great vegetarian selection, which I love. I have never tried the lunch buffet, because it's during the week while I am at work, but some day I'm going to take the day off specifically to go... I would recommend this place to ANYBODY who enjoys indian food. Pros: Delicious food, pretty good service Cons: It's not closer to where I live more

Great lunch buffet!...especially for the price! 8/17/2006

We tried this place for dinner onetime, it was good but not as worth it as their lunch buffet. They have food that is fresh and tasty plus a nice variety for their buffet. I really enjoyed it the few times i've been there. The owner is friendly and his workers are nice. I don't mind the music there at all...it just gives you the whole indian feel. I can't wait to go there again. Oh and i love their rice pudding, it's also part of the buffet. I wouldn't go there again for dinner though but definitely for lunch. more

Friendly people, good food 1/11/2006

The owner is very friendly. Food is good and not very expensive. Sometimes they play loud and krappy bollywood music which can be irritating. But overall a good place to checkout, recommended. Try the lunch buffet. Pros: friendly, cheap, buffet Cons: bad music more
