Aberglen Pet Resort

Really feel that reviews should be looked into. Old reviews really should be removed for obvious reasons. We took our fur babies to Aberglen and it was a wonderful experience for us, \r 1. peace of mind knowing they were going to be well cared for. \r 2. knowing our senior fur baby was kept in a secure safe area.\r 3. the add on services were and extra blessing for when we picked up our fur babies they were groomed perfectly, smelling clean and fresh (no one at Aberglen smokes!!! so no nasty cigarette smell!)\r 4.there is a safe area in which our younger fur baby was given excersize and played with. (not mentioning all the belly rubs)\r \r Highly recommend this place. Shame on the person who gave the bad review, obviously it was not true. more

My husband called to reserve a overnight kennel for our two dogs. Over the phone a female employee gave him two options: $34/night for the first dog and $30/night for the second for both dogs to have their own kennel OR $34/night + $10/night for both dogs to share one kennel. We elected for them to share a kennel. When my husband went to pick the dogs up he spoke with a male employee and was charged $64/night. My husband explained that he was told by a female employee that by sharing a kennel it would only be $44/night, and in response he was told that this is what he was being charged and unless we paid the $64/night that they would not release our dogs to us. They also tried to charge us for a third night because we picked our dogs up after ""lunch time"". We were never told we had to pick them at a certain time, just during business hours, and when my husband pointed this out he was asked to compromise and pay for a 1/2 day. The male employee finally relented that we had not been told about the ""lunch time rule"" but still insisted we pay the $64 or he would keep our dogs. We paid and left.\r \r I should have trusted my gut prior to dropping our dogs off, because each encounter with the employees at Aberglen was less than pleasant - but Aberglen had such good reviews on Yelp we went ahead with our reservation. I hope no one else falls victim to their bait and switch routine. There are plenty of other options in Sonoma, and I would not recommend Aberglen to anyone I know. more

These people are real professionals. They understand dogs and they are extremely knowledgeable. I think they work with show dogs too, but my little terrier was pampered and groomed to perfection. He gave kisses to them and to me when I picked him up, and they were able to explain to me about my dogs skin and coat in a way I could really understand. Sparky and I are both happy we found this place. They probably are not the least expensive, but I think they are the best. more

my dog had the best time at Aberglen , they have play time and country walks . my dog was also groomed and they have a frequent groom card , 11th groom is free . these are master groomers with show dogs they have the the group in the westminster show !!!\r I highly recommend this kennel more

just brought my girl home from several weeks there,recovering from back injury.i could never have tolerated our absence from one aonther had i not known she would be cared for so lovingly and professionally. daily brushing, walks, and of course cookies, plus baths as needed, left her long coat more beautiful than when i left her, no easy task.she is a challenge,a true terrier, not easy to handle, but sally george and her staff know how to deal with difficult dogs, with competent patience.and i could get much needed and appreciated updates,saving my sanity. panya is regularly groomed there, and runs into te office at each bath visit, telling me she loves being there, a huge relef. as a most neurotic pet owner believe me when i say i can only trust my precious girl to sally and aberglen. i am truly blessd that they are here. We had to leave town dude to a family emergency and didnt have our usual pet sitter on short notice. No problem, One call to the Aberglen Pet resort and out problems were taken care of quickly and efficiently. Trekker was happy when he returned from the week long stay. The staff was professional and helpful with me. It was a rainy day and of course Sonoma Country has had 45 days of rain, but that didnt stop their staff from giving my dog his country hikes! The place was very clean, dogs taken care of and their staff very caring. Im very satisfied and will start using them as a regular boarding kennel. We left Duffy there over the easter holiday and was pleased. He had a nice, clean run and happy when we picked him up. We were impressed with the facilities--even though it was a rainy Sonoma day--they were very clean. NO DOGGIE ODER! YEA! The staff is very nice and professional.While I was checking my dog in.I witnessed a customer bringing her dog in for grooming.She was told that her appointment had been canceled.She said the owner(of Aberglen)had called to cancel and re schedule.Because the groomer was needed for grooming a show dog.She confirmed that she had the right phone number.She then agreed to stay late to groom her dog. The walkways from the office to the kennel was un kept and muddy.When we picked up are dog she smelled of bleach and urine.Her brand new bed had been washed and ruinned.The owner refused to replace it.We won't be back.
