AZ Air Conditioning & Heating

When my home's fifteen-year old Bryant 5-ton AC Furnace split system needed replacement, I requested estimates from three HVAC businesses in the area that received excellent reviews on Angie's List. AZ Air Conditioning & Heating was one of them. I used to be a maintenance supervisor at an elderly apartment complex so I do know a few things in the field. As I explained to each estimator, my two main complaints with the existing Bryant unit was that it would cycle on and off frequently resulting in uncomfortable temperature swings both in summer and winter, and that the unit was much too loud inside and outside the home. To reduce the noise level, I asked each estimator about relocating the unit to the roof. Each said that it could be done, but AZ Air Conditioning & Heating was the only one to have the company's Installer come to my house to look into it directly. AZ Air Conditioning & Heating explained that, despite the claims of other estimators, although roof relocation could be done, for several logical and clearly explained reasons, it was really not the best way to go. Alex further explained several additional measures that could be taken to reduce inside noise if a Lennox variable speed unit was installed in the current HVAC interior location. Based on price and some unrealistic promises (and bad decision making), and despite my wife's preference for AZ Air Conditioning & Heating, I decided to have a 5-ton Rheem unit installed by a different company. As soon as the Rheem blower was turned on for testing during the installation procedure, my wife and I both realized that the noise level was noticeably louder than noise from our old Bryant unit. To make this too-long-story somewhat shorter, I refused to continue with the Rheem installation, and demanded the company remove the unit. Taking AZ Air Conditioning & Heating's advice, I then had AZ Air Conditioning & Heating install a Lennox 17 SEER XC 17 SL280V 4-ton two stage unit. To further reduce noise levels, AZ Air Conditioning & Heating cleverly enlarged the return intake, lined the return surface areas with high quality sound board, and re-covered the HVAC room with metal. Four AZ Air Conditioning & Heating technicians worked all day and did a very thorough and professional job. My wife and I are quite happy with the result. The Lennox heating is very even and the blower sound is much reduced. During testing of the AC the indoor unit was very quiet, and my neighbor is really going to be happy with the reduced compressor noise next summer. AZ Air Conditioning & Heating sold my wife and I a new gas furnace on Tuesday and promptly installed the furnace the next day. That is a remarkable convenience. Earlier today, I had a phone conversation with their Service Manager. I told him that I was favorably impressed by the two service men who installed our new furnace. They were very polite. They really ""worked their tails off"" until the job was as complete as they could make it. The installation task in our home was not easy. There is one indoor access to the basement. That access is two narrow doors that are not conveniently lined up. The space between the two doors is space with less than six feet of head room. Throughout the day, I did not hear one word expressing how difficult the job was. They were perfect gentlemen working as a team to complete their assignment. Roger was the leader and Todd was the helper. Our salesman was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Clearly explained several options and recommended a very reasonable choice for us. He patiently answered a lot of questions that were prompted by misinformation we had received from a local vendor. We felt very confident when we signed the contract. We are presently waiting for AZ Air Conditioning & Heating to adapt our present thermostat rather than install the digital one that is most appropriate for our new furnace. I fully expect the Tech to be equally talented and very pleasant.The bottom line is that we have a lot of respect for your company and the employees who have served us over the past two days. more

Thanks for an excellent job with my AC/Heat units. Everything was A+ professional, clean, super fast (and a major relief to have done). They even coordinated with my roofer so that as the roof was being torn off above them they carried on and installed my new units with speed and precision. Words fail when one trys to express how impressed and appreciative we are for the crew, who carried out the Sales Person?s promise of a job done to the highest standards. I had trouble believing it as I have had experience with contractors who initially impress, but leave you wondering how shoddy workmanship became the norm. A complete replacement of AC and furnace, relocating from beneath the house to the attic. They could have cut corners and left the old equipment in place, but having pride of workmanship, they took the extra effort to completely remove the old furnace from a cramped and difficult crawl space. The crew worked tirelessly for 14 hours straight to get the job done, AMAZING. Thank you for your high standards, and thank you for your workmanship and caring. more

AZ Air Conditioning & Heating installed a multi-zone ductless split system in my 1870s house in the conejo valley. Although I was considering high-velocity to avoid visible duct-work, I am grateful to AZ Air Conditioning & Heating for discussing the pros and cons of the various systems and convincing me that ductless was a better option for my house. It ended up being cheaper, less invasive and simpler to install, and avoided having a noisy air-handler in the limited space available in the finished attic. AZ Air Conditioning & Heating also put a lot of thought into the installation. They found clever ways of hiding drainage pipes where other contractors said they would have to build a soffit. Done quickly and on time. Would highly recommend to all my Faimly and friends in the conejo valley. more

They broke a pipe in the condo above at MIDNIGHT and the water damage was unbelievable! 1,000's of dollars worth of damage. They refuse to give a testimony so their insurance can pay for the damage. Now if he doesn't show up to the meeting at the end of the month no one is getting paid for repairs by this company. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!! If I could give a lower rating I would. more

Ok I had already posted about these guys on City search but I guess they got smart and made another account. Dont be fooled they are a horrible company, go take a look at their other profile. Just to be clear, I did not use this company's services, even though i wanted to.\r \r I called (as far as I recollect) them five times and left as much messages over the course of a week and never got a callback. I consider that to be pretty rude. \r \r As far as I can see from the previous review, I'm not the only one with this problem (or a similar one).\r \r Five calls and nothing? Too bad. Fortunately, there are a lot more providers like AZ in my area so I got a good deal pretty soon. If I was to sit home and wait for their serviceman, I kinda think that waiting for world peace is a better investment.\r \r But anyway, when looking for new vendors to work with I need good communication between the vendor and me, besides a good price and great ethics. Does AZ provide something like that? I wouldn't know, but even if they did, AZ Air conditioning & Heating still has a long way to go and learn a lot on how to treat their potential customers. more

What a letdown...\r I found them online and scheduled an estimate. I had to take a day off because my wife was out for the day. And AZ never showed up!\r I tried calling the office, they gave me a sag story with broken vans, accidents, hurricanes and god knows what other natural disasters... \r However, they couldn't call me themselves and let me know...\r Stay away. more

Commerical use: Watch out... Charged $350+ per hour. Incomplete Work orders. Lennox AC Control board replacement for $1550 and still not working. AZ came back out and 2 more fan boards not woking $750 to bi pass... not to fix that's another $825..\r \r Do not hold themselves to fair Rates ($125 hour)... \r \r Do not use unless you dont care how much it will cost, than have at it.....\r Best Reguards more
