They came out to my place to check AC/heater. Charged $67 for ""diagnosis"" He did not do anything. He looked at the unit and told me it needs to be replaced because it's old. He did not run any tests or diagnose anything. Then he pulled the fuse block so I'm not wasting power. Tried putting the fuse block back in and now the unit does not get any power at all. Thanks for making it worse. more

These guys were recommended to me by a friend. My A/C unit went dead during a recent heatwave. I didn't shop around so can't speak to pricing. But the guys who assessed my house did a great job. They had some pretty sophisticated tools to measure what I needed (way better than some contractor who'd speculate on what I need). They came on time, fixed all kinds of installation mistakes I inherited from the prior homeowner. They've been honest about what I need and don't. Now I have a unit I trust for the next 20 years! more

ASI installed our A/C about 5-6 years ago. Every technician we have had service out A/C unit has been experienced, courteous and very helpful and never pushy about selling other products. They tell us and let us make the decision. Great and reliable company to do business with. more

The service technician's answers to my questions prove that he is competent and knowledgeable. We are happy that we found a reliable company. I've had ASI do a tune up on my a/c unit, they did such a great job of bringing it back to the way it cooled when we first purchased it. What a great job. I like the job they did on my old unit that when we added a second story, they installed a second unit since the old unit cooled downstairs but just didn't have enough BTUs to cover both areas. They explained all the details, so me the numbers ( I'm an engineer ) and they were correct. The job was completed on time and has been working flawlessly. I have them out each spring to tune the units. Money well spent! Saves on the Electric Bill!!!! more

We purchased our heating and air conditioning unit from ASI Hastings several years ago and have not had one problem. We always take advantage of their very reasonable maintenance every year. This keeps the unit running smoothly and if anything should show up they could repair it promptly before any major damage. They have always been professional and respectful of me and my property. Very helpful too! The last time I had an installer here he swept up all the garden debris that had collected behind the outside unit. We purchased 2 Carrier slim-line units from ASI and were very pleased with their prices, professionalism and installation. We have enjoyed 4 years of comfort during the summer months. Each spring we have ASI perform a tune-up service for a very reasonable price of $87. Each time the service has been superb. On the current service last week early rust was starting to develop from an automatic sprinkler maladjustment and this was pointed out to me . I was unaware of the problem. This is an outstanding company and I highly recommend them. more

This is a company worth doing business with. Used them in a prior home for the installation of a new furnace. ASI Hastings Heating & Air - This is a great company with quality products and excellent service. They installed our HVAC system at home over ten years ago (heating and cooling), and we have been very satisfied with the performance of both units. We have ASI come out twice a year for routine service and maintenance, and their technicians are always on time, efficient, and professional. We recently had to replace the blower and air filter on our unit (after 11 years of problem-free performance), and the service tech was very helpful in providing recommendations that made good sense. We trust ASI and will continue counting on them to take care of all our HVAC issues and needs. more

I called ASI when my 9 year old Carrier furnace wouldn't turn on. I suspected the thermostat but decided to call the pros. They had done repair work for me once before and I was satisfied overall. Like any professional repair business, they are not inexpensive and the unexpected $400 really hurt. Hey, they're in business to make a profit like anyone else. However, Mike worked diligently to resolve the problem, over-riding the thermostat to show me that the furnace was working fine. Then I asked if the furnace needed any servicing while he was here. Before I asked, there was no ""up selling"". Mike did indicate that all new units have a surge suppressor hard wired to them to prevent costly damage to computerized parts and more. Hmm. I paused with this new information for a moment remembering how I once fried a cell phone that was charging. Following the ""Law of Attraction"" I knew that NOT installing the new surger would likely mean my attention would be on something getting fried and then it would. $200 peace of mind, at least until I get better at setting my intentions. It should be said that Mike didn't push it and that helped to make the decision easier because it was MY decision. I'm sure I could have replaced the thermostat myself, like I repaired a toilet, installed a faucet, tiled a kitchen, etc., but I know nothing about electricity, and that could be foolish at best. As long as they do a good job and stand by their products and installation, then it's money well spent. more

I recently had my 6 year old AC unit tuned up for the first time. In my opinion the technician (Scott) did an outstanding job. He performed a multi-point check of both my furnace unit and the AC compressor. He found a potential problem in that the AC compressor fan motor was drawing current near its max rated capacity. He stated that the unit was fine for now but at some point if the issue was not corrected I could run into overheating problems. Having some pretty good knowledge of electricity I told him that we find out why this is happening and fix the problem. So he did some trouble shooting and discovered that the capacitor that provides a steady voltage to the fan unit was degraded. I authorized him to replace the capacitor. After that the fan motor was drawing only a fraction of what it was before. I was very impressed with Scotts troubleshooting ability and the fact that he did not try to ""upsell"". I also think that $87 for an AC tuneup is very reasonable. Some of my coworkers have told me of horror stories with their AC/Heating service provider, but none have had a complaint with ASI. After my first encounter with ASI, I am impressed and will continue to use them. more

We have used ASI for our regular maintenance for our furnace and air-conditioning unit for the past three years. We have our units serviced 2X per year. ASI provides great service and their prices are reasonable. \r We request the same technician when we call. He is polite, careful and really knows his stuff. We bought our new AC/furnace from ASI last year. Love it!!! Yesterday two of their ""white glove guys"" came to service the furnace. They did a great job. They were polite, friendly, efficient and clean. They even put little booties over their feet when they came into the house. Just like the ones they use in operating rooms. How cool is that?? When they left, they gave us a couple of pairs of white gloves....nice little gesture!! more
