Worst

I wished the company would have notified me that my contract was expiring and a rate increase was forthcoming.

Frustrating, not great, terrible. 4/3/2014

We had problems with our alarm and when ASG Security took over from the previous company they came out here and didn't have the code info to get into the main box of my system. And therefore they couldn't take care of anything... we were left with nothing. What annoys me is that they got enough info from the previous company to get my business but didn't get the relevant information (the code for the main box which only they had, we didn't have it as the alarm system came with the house when we bought it) so they couldn't do anything unless we chose to install a whole new system. In the end I just had to pull it out of the wall because every morning the alarm would make a noise to tell me it had trouble and that was the only way to make it stop. more

In my experience with ASG Security, I never had an issues with the company and they were easy to get a hold of and have come out. I had to call them one time to have a door alarm installed and they came out within a couple days to do the job as scheduled. Very professional and prompt in their arrival and installation. more

This is our first time using ASG Security, they bought out the company that we were using before. They monitor our alarm in case we have a problem. They do what they're contracted to do and so far everything has been going smoothly. more

ASG is our security company. Everybody that I have dealt with there is always very friendly. My issue with them is that the prices keep increasing and there is no added value that I have been made aware of. I keep seeing these commercials on television for companies that have a feature where you can arm your alarm from your cell phone. I have also been seeing prices that are better than theirs. I have been considering looking at other companies. If ASG does offer some of these benefits they have not communicated that to me. Overall, the company is nice but I am seeing better things out there. more

An ok product, wish they kept us updated 2/13/2014

My wife and I eventually switched from ASG to a different company. The reason being, they never updated us on any new products that they had like these other companies were doing. For instance, a new digital keypad or any other type of new innovation, we never heard about. I guess they thought that what we had at the time was sufficient but the other companies offered us a better deal with better technology so we went ahead and switched. more

There are a few quirks but overall it is fine 2/7/2014

There are a lot of little things that could go wrong with an alarm system. With mine it would malfunction during the night and instead of the company waiting till the morning to call me they would call me in the middle of the night to make sure nothing was wrong. I understand where they are coming from, they want to make sure that I am safe, but its so prone to error, that it is actually becoming an inconvenience to have. I know they inherited this particular alarm system from a company they bought and I have asked them to replace it with one of their original products but they said it would cost a bunch of money and I personally do not want to go through all that. From a general standpoint the system isn't bad, but it could be better. more

Responsiveness has proven to be very slow and customer service inadequate -- it has taken them on two separate occasions more than five minutes to address false alarms. Also, they increased our monthly monitoring rate by more than 12%, despite a fixed price contract that locked in our rate for three years. When we asked them to refund the charge, we were referred to a supervisor who proved to be unavailable. more

We've been using ASG Security for at least four years. We've had some issues. I guess there was a miscommunication where they didn't call the police when somebody broke in because they thought we lived in Ann Arundel County, but we actually live in Calvert County. Other than that one incident when somebody actually broke in and I was a little upset, it's been fine. They're a good company, and I would recommend them. It's better to have somebody than nobody! more

I have had a few service calls with them and they have taken care of the various issues presented to them in a timely manner. I referred them to a couple of my neighbors and I have come away, very pleased with the services of ASG. more

The problem is that the system could not tell it is a false alarm when a right code is entered after the alarm starts. Give you an example, I got a call from ASG, saying a breaking in at front door. When I asked: can you tell is it still on or already been dis-alarmed? The answer was: don't know. I had hard time to decide if we need to send police. I asked to hold. I called the tenants and finally found one who told me it was a false alarm and the tenant entered the code immediately to dis alarmed it. I wish the system can add a function to tell if it is dis-alarmed after the a signal received. Thanks more

Our issue was handled promptly, however, customer service wasnt open so we couldn't find out how tiki duo the fire alarm from sounding every few minutes. 12/15/2013

Cooking smoke tripped the fire alarm, and the monitoring station was helpful by holding the signal from going through. However, they couldn't tell us how to make the tremendously loud warning stop broadcasting every few minutes because customer service was closed. Our cat was going crazy. more

They constantly call me in the middle of the night to report low batteries. 12/15/2013

I have not been able to find out why low battery calls always come in the middle of the night, typically about 1am. more
