My mother, who is 76, a cancer survivor and hard of hearing, recently relocated to FL from up north. ADT was on her in a day. The installer told her the neighborhood was bad and she really needed their service. (I was there). This guy left behind paperwork of another customer; including her name, address, phone number AND social security number; which he never returned to get.
My mom decided to cancel her service within the 3-day time limit, but since then..(March, 2010), she has been threatened..harrassed by some made up collections company, and has called me in tears too many times. She paid the installation fee, and then canceled, and has since paid nothing. We have called and emailed no less than 25 times, and they STILL have not picked up this worthless contraption they installed in her home.
Definitely taking this to the Attorney General, as this seems to be their practice and pattern; harrassing, threatening and using their home-base taught scare tactics on the elderly.
