A Kids Gym Learning Academy

I had my daughter's birthday there this past Saturday and it was AMAZING!!!! It was the easiest party ever and my daughter and her friends loved every minute of the party. There is so much play time and the party coordinators are completely involved and really get the kids excited and having fun. The party room was decorated very nice and all of the little touches made my daughter feel very special. I would recommend A Kids Gym to everyone, this was a no stress party for me and a wonderful experience for everyone involved!!! more

I am sad to see these reviews. It must really depend on who your staff is. My sons have been there for summer camp and my son did Summer VPK there last summer. They have been wonderful with both of my sons and my boys love it there. Ms. Joy, the owner, has always been very receptive to my feedback. I would suggest if you have a problem, you go to her and let her know. I bet she would do something about it. more

I strongly urge parents of toddlers and small children NOT to take them to A Kids Gym in Oviedo. The staff there is rude and doesn?t know how to deal with small children appropriately. The older woman is especially loud and mean. At a recent parent and tot class, a toddler (barely 2 years old) ran the wrong way down the bouncy run. The older woman grabbed him by the arm and got in his face, berating him for what he did. She told him to look at the sign that says ?One Way?. The child can barely talk, let alone read. She threatened to kick him out of the class. He was shrinking back in fear from her. After that, every time she came near him during the class, he shrunk back from her or ran away. This woman should not even be allowed near young children. Very young children need the rules repeated over and over before it sinks in. They need to be gently shown how to do things the right way, not yelled at and man-handled. This is not a place for smaller children, and I will not be taking my young child there again. more

We have had nothing but wonderful experiences at A Kids Gym! My daughter had her 4th birthday party there and all the kids and parents had a great time. The staff was courteous and helpful. I plan to have my sons next birthday there as well. My daughter attended the PreK program and loved it. My son currently attends the school and he asks to go every night at bedtime. He is already looking forward to the next days fun! I would highly recommend it for both education and physical aspects of a child's life!! more

I'm super sad and surprised at the other reviews from the kids/parents that had a bad birthday experience here. That's a memory you want to be perfect. My 4 year old is in VPK here and we LOVE it. He's been attending preschool here since he was 18 months. We've been doing Parent/Child classes since he was 1, and I'm now taking my 16 month old to those classes. We held a birthday party here when he turned 3 and everyone had a blast. I've also attended another birthday party here that was just as fun-packed for all involved. I'd say check it out yourself before believing any of us :-) You can meet the coaches/teachers that will be with you and your kids. Neither party I attended went the way they described in any way. 45 min of play time in 2 hours is terrible! We had about 5 min of safety instructions, some organized play, some free play, food time....and more play! Oh yeah, and my 4 year old is also in gymnastics here....cool place :-) more

I can only hope that the daily teachers are not the same as the party teachers. The teachers at the party were not child friendly. No interaction with the kids, unless they were instructing them on the rules, and grabbing their arms. We almost left the party. Only 45 minutes of playtime, in a 2 hour party. The rest was sitting, in the cake room, or in the gym listening to the rules. One child, who had a question, was told to ""just sit down."" The 3-year-old wanted a drink of water. I would never send my child to a camp or preschool there. Very scary. more

We just attended a birthday party at A Kids Gym. The 2 instructors were not excited to be there. No enthusiasm. Perhaps they weren't suppose to work today. However, that was the least of the issues. One of the instructors constantly 'grabbed' the kids by their arms, repremanding them for not following the rules. If this happens while the parents are present, I can only imagine what goes on when our kids are dropped off for classes or daycare/camp. The first 10 minutes of the party consisted of the kids sitting in a circle, listening to the instructor tell the kids what they 'could not' do in the gym. The average age was 3. I am contacting the owner Monday morning. Very unacceptable behavior by anyone calling themselves a teacher, and scary behavior for a childcare facility. more
