When Toby and Rudy are in their crates in the back of the car on their way to A Country Cat House, they are very quiet. They must know they are going to visit Josie and the staff who take such good care of them. I never have to worry because I know how much love they get even when they are away from home. I can't say enough about this wonderful place! more

I have been a grooming customer of A Country Cat House for over 15 years now. Josie is extremely knowledgeable, accommodating and caring. I would not take my cat for grooming anywhere else. Harmony the diabetic cat and I travel throughout the US since I am a travel physical therapist. I have boarded my slightly neurotic tri-colored longhair, in many states - including Washington, Arizona, Louisiana, and Florida. By far and away, there is no place like A Country Cat House. From the lack of antiseptic smells (because they change the litter boxes so often) to the calming music; the special attention each kitty receives; and the wonderful care given by Josie and the staff, there is no rival for exceptional cat boarding. I look forward to return home to Fort Lauderdale so that I can board Harmony at A Country Cat House if I need someone loving to look after her in my absence. All 6 of my cats receive their grooming here. Josie and the staff are very personable, dependable, patient and kind to the kitties. One of my cats needs a tablet before grooming as she must be shaved on her tummy and behind due to having longer hair. As she was feral, she does not allow brushing there and if not shaved will become very matted. For over a year, Manny (a staff member there) would meet me early to take the kitty and they would give her the pill. We have advanced to where I can do it myself now, but it is only because the kitty got used to it with them first. The kitty is getting much better with grooming as they are very kind and patient with her. We are now down to about half a pill. The facility is very clean and tidy, with a nice entrance, plenty of room to sit for clients with their various carriers, and nice music playing to calm the cats and their guardians. As they specialize only in cats there is no loud barking from dogs to make the cats nervous as there are at the larger vet boarding or big box pet store facilities. This does make a difference and one can see it when your cat stays there for a visit vs. one of the other types of facilities. There is something to be said for a ""niche"" market at times. Josie is very fast at checking clients in/out in order that there are not long waiting times. However, if one has a question or special needs, she will ensure there is time to for the discussion. I have had no issues, even if needing to change appointments, etc. at the last minute. They do their best to accommodate the client, having a high standard of customer service and are very reasonably priced. They also use high quality cat food, unless you bring in your own food. Myself and my cats love Joise and the team at The Country Cathouse. I would highly recommend The Country Cathouse and wish their were other facilities that specialize in this manner across the country. Pros: Friendly, great customer service, lots of patience more

I love to take my cat to this wonderful place. He is pampered, loved and care in an environment just for cats. They have 1 level, 2 level and 3 level condos depending on how many cats. My cat has stay in 1 and 2 level condos. What I liked the best is that is the people too.. they are very dedicated and have great knowledge and experience. My cat is special needs and I don't leave him anywere. He also is a persian so in between my vacation I also take him there to get groomed. I live in North Miami and I'm so lucky that there is a place like this in MIami just for cats. Pros: cats only, knowledge and experience Cons: too bad I can't stay there too! more

The best place in South Florida for my cat. I live in the area of North Miami and I really pampered my cat. Charlie my cat loves to visit the cat hotel for his pampering grooming sessions or when I travel. I don't dare leave him at home alone. My neighbor used to watch him.. but frankly she is busy and I prefer him to get attention around the clock. I don't know what I will do without this place. Unfortunately I am not allowed to rate this kennel with negative stars, which is the only reason I voted it 1/5. Like many others I was suckered in by the pamphlets with pictures of cats romping in large playpens and lounging in luxurious cat condos. When I arrived with my cat I was shown the place where I THOUGHT my cat would be staying, which was indeed nice. A week later I arrived to pick my cat up. I was a couple of hours early, and thus got to see where the cats are actually kept. My cat was crammed into a tiny wooden box with wire mesh over the top. The box was slightly larger than the average cat carrier - ALMOST big enough for a cat to stand up in. My poor boxed cat was in a tiny room that was FULL of other boxed cats. The cats were stacked several deep from floor to ceiling. In little wooden boxes. Dozens of cats screaming and howling, crammed into crates, stacked up like cardboard boxes in storage. It was absolutely appalling. Furthermore, the unnecessary vaccinations that the Country Cat House required gave my cat an untreatable cancerous tumor which lead to her death. Do not give these people your business. Your cat would probably be better off at the animal shelter. Pros: Absolute best place in town to pay to have your pet crammed into a filthy box. It is a pleasure dealing with Josie at A Country Cat House. It is the only way I can enjoy my time away knowing that my cat it been treated so well and I don't have to worry about him. While away, I had even e-mail to hear how my kitty was doing and I got a response right back. I highly recomend A County Cat House. They are GREAT! more

Words aren't enough to praise Josie and all her happy helpers! Our two kitties spend all their vacations at "Josie's Resort".(I think they have more fun with her than at home!) The care is exceptional, professional, caring and personal. The facility is top notch & meticulously clean! \r Staying with Josie has to be better even than being spoiled at Grandma's house !! For the past 14 years we have never gone anywhere without leaving our precious furry children in the loving care of Josie and her equally attentive staff. We have no idea what we would have done if there had not been A Country Cat House & Josie. We have 4 kitties that have been treated with so much special attention and care( and at such reasonable rates). We could go on and on for pages describing the genuine, deep love that Josie and her helpers have given to our kitties for these many, many years. You have to meet Josie to experience and understand her loving personality, attention to detail, and endless energy in caring for all the kitties entrusted to her. Although she might not have been talking about A Country Cat House, we can think of no better words than those of the indomitable Eartha Kitt as Catwoman, ?It?s purrrrfect!? These two pussycats love Josie and her team. When our Mom and Dad are called out of town, we look forward to the individualized attention, scenic views, knowledge, cleanliness, professionalism and attention to special needs or requests that we get at our favorite of spas. And, while it?s true that there is no place like home, since 1999 if our parents must travel out, there?s no better or safer place for us to be than at A Country Cat House. Josie, we love you! We have been customers for the past six years,and is amazing how Josie/and staff takes care of our girls. We travel very often and had never had any problems. There has been times when Daisy was sick, and Josie handle it very well. Jasmine & Daisy love the TLC they receieve at the SPA. I recommend it to everyone I know has a cat. When we go on vacation I do not stress thinking on how the girls will be taken care, I know they will receive excellent treatment. Josie is an excellent manager. At ?A Country Cat House?, Josie combines a spa vacation with a true home environment. My cat, Sophie, was treated like a princess every time she stayed with Josie. Josie and her staff are always willing to be flexible when we need her services in a pinch. She is very willing to do anything we ask of her with a smile on her face. Our girls Misty and Molly love visiting and also enjoy coming home with clean fresh smelling fur. They love it there so much that they hate having to come home. We especially love the fact that they follow our directions as far as feeding and play to a tee. They keep the girls safe and happy so that we can have peace of mind knowing they are in great hands.
