A B Moving

I had a move scheduled Friday, Aug. 30, between 4 – 7 PM. I contacted them Friday at 5 PM to confirm I was on the schedule and they would not be past 7 PM since I was moving out of an unlit storage facility. I was assured I was and they would call me when 30 minutes out. I had left work early to change and be ready to get over to our storage location as soon as they called. As 7 PM approached I headed over to the storage facility to ensure I would not hold them up as we would now be working against the sun setting and lack of light. At 7:40, I got a call stating they did not know where the drivers where or how far out and he (the dispatcher) was trying to track them down. I told him that there was no light once the sun went down at this storage facility and that it was setting so I needed them quickly. I also stated that if I didn't get out of the unit I had to pay for another month. He called back 10 minutes later (now 7:50) to report they were an hour out and maybe could get there around 9 PM (after sundown). I told him there was no point and it wouldn't be safe to move/try and move unless they were equipped with spotlights. He said he would see what he could do Saturday. I requested Saturday morning as I already had plans Saturday evening that I could not reschedule. I ended up having to go with Sunday and paying $144 for another months rent. To top it off the movers never used an appliance dolly, were careless with my items and destroyed my washer ($800 to replace) and for all this I received back $132. They were completely unsympathetic and refused any form of refund outside of the $132 paid by their insurance for the washer. more

Do NOT use this moving company. When they showed up to our house to move us they came with only one truck instead of two, resulting in us having to leave several things behind. My husband is having to go back to the old house (three hours away), rent a U-haul and move everything else himself now. On top of that "small" issue, one of the movers that showed up stole our Capital One card and made several charges on it. Thankfully Capital One called my husband to let us know of the fradualent charges. Also, a bracelet that belonged to my grandmother when she was a baby, passed down to me and I had just handed it down to my baby daughter one month ago was also stolen. I am beyond heartbroken about the bracelet. When my husband called the owner of the company, Kenny, to report what had happened he was basically called a liar. Kenny sent my husband an email offering to give us back the TIP that we gave the movers ($300) IF we took down the negative report/claim we made. Of course, we said no. I proceeded to call Kenny myself and when he left me a message the next morning he said he could probably go up to offer us $400 if we took down the report. We had never asked for any money back so he's obviously just trying to buy us off IF we take down our negative claim. Not going to happen. I would suggest hiring someone else, anyone else, than AB Moving. This has been and still is a nightmare. more

Very happy with the services provided. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a fast reliable and cost effective moving company. I was moving from a home in which I have many fragile and valuable items that the movers handled them with great care and concern. I personally am very particular about who I let handle my belonging so finding a moving company that I felt confident in was a bit of a struggle but after discussing my move with AB my concerns were laid to rest. They truly are a top notch moving company and I will without a doubt be using them on my next move. more

I used these guys last weekend for a move based on previous reviews. They did outstanding. They totally busted their butts and never slacked/complained despite my sometimes crazy demands. They hit the mark exactly on the time estimate and I couldn't have been happier. There really is nothing else to say, hire these guys. more

This does not even deserve one star! This was the worst moving experience I've ever had. I was sold one thing and none of what I was told by Kalie happen on my packing day. I was told they were going to send the best movers to make up for the awful experience. Well my move went even worse!!! Nothing I was promised happen. Kyle was a joke to work with, all he wanted was payment! They didn't finish the job. I had to hire a second moving company to finish my move! Do Not Use this company. Had I done a little research first instead of hiring them based on one friends experience I could have save hundreds of dollars, not had broken items and would not have a stressed day or a migraine!!! more

They confirmed with me the day before and the day of, but never showed up. I left them 10 voicemails, but no one called me back the next morning until I called and a guy named Kenny was so rude on the phone and never apologized or gave an explanation. I dealt with David and Kyle (who were great) up until the move, but I found out David left the company a few days before my move.Too bad. Kenny and the new team are awful. more

This was the first time we hired professional movers (after 7 moves in 8 years - 2 of them cross country) and it was the BEST experience ever. When I called for a quote, David was so professional & nice on the phone. We had a challenging move - out of a high-rise, into storage for 2 1/2 weeks, and into our new building. AB Moving was able to take care of everything!! Their quote was not the cheapest, but still competitive. Based on the reviews, we decided to go with it and have absolutely no regrets. By the way - if David tells you to use xx number of movers - LISTEN TO HIM!! We tried to scrimp on the move-out and used 2 instead of 3, but saw the light and used 3 on the move-in. So much faster & ended up being cheaper because of the time savings. The movers were on time, courteous, and took very good care of all of our belongings. My husband was out of town during the move, and I was a bit apprehensive about dealing with everything myself. However, the guys were kind & respectful, and I felt completely comfortable. If (when!) we move again, I will definitely be a repeat customer!! more

I found out 5 days in advance that I was going to be moving. I searched for movers and sent out a dozen emails and AB moving was always the first to respond. Excellent customer service and the LOWEST quote I got. I have moved 6 times in the past 4 years and never have I been happier about a moving company. The gentlemen that came to my house were on time and ready to work. They were polite, they were fast and they took care of my belongings. They protected my wood furniture before they moved it. I had a 2 bedroom apartment, upstairs, they had everything in the truck and ready to go within 40 minutes. They followed me to my new location and unloaded in 30 min and were gone. I couldn't be happier and next time I need to move (which hopefully wont be soon) I will be calling David at AB Moving! more

Our move involved: 1) Transporting the contents of a relatively small home, lived in for just under ten years as well as moving the contents of my woodshop - a space about as large as the house was. 2) Our new home, however, was not ready so the move involved transporting goods both to my in-laws, and a storage facility. 3) All moves were done in town. 4) The moves involved maneuvering on and off a very busy street. THREE Men & A Truck When moving day arrived, our truck arrived ten minutes early. They deftly navigated our busy street, backing into our driveway between our fence. It was a bit like drivers' ed for movers. Our crew was clean cut, well-mannered and hard working. And our crew consisted of three men. There was an obvious crew leader which made the process even more streamlined (and I, by the way, did not act as the crew leader). The Process Moving went well with all of our boxes already packed and purchased (or begged and borrowed) prior to the move. These guys handled a large tablesaw with finesse and managed a treadmill, carrying it from a 1940s house (meaning not much headroom or turning room) and out the door. Furniture was wrapped well and their process was thought out and logical. Finally - we move Our crew made two stops successfully, moving about our town with relative ease. Each stop they proceeded to unload swiftly but with respect for their surroundings and the items they were moving. Our move was fast, taking 3.5 hours from start to finish. For this we paid $85 per hour. Not a bad rate considering they were dealing with my woodworking tools in addition to regular household stuff. Part II Repeat the above information but fast forward another 4.5 months - we utilized our movers yet again to go from storage unit to new house. Oh, I still feel I'm young enough and strong enough to do it myself but my wife still feels otherwise. Again, no problems, no hitches, and this time a rate of $78/hr (no woodworking shop to do this time around). more

The 3 guys who showed up were very nice and worked really fast. The problem was that only one of them spoke any English and they were not careful at all. The guy couldn't understand when I was trying to tell him he was stacking 3 boxes of books on top of a box labeled "Fragile" and "Crystal". They move everything with unpadded dollies so the wood furniture and appliances all had dings on them. Fast and cheap, but there will be damage. more

Once again, I needed a mover, and this time, it was on very short notice. Our house closed a lot faster than we initially anticipated, and we didn't think we would be able to get anyone lined up in time. In stepped AB Moving, who once again was not only able to get us in last minute, but also gave us the same great service we have come to expect. Mr. Kenny Baker sent us a great team of guys, and they were very quick and proficient, while still making sure to wrap all of the items to ensure that they arrived at our destination in the same shape that they left our old home in. I only wish that these guys performed other services! I could use a plumber, roofing guy, etc. that was as quick, efficient, and accomodating as this company has always been for us. Thanks again, AB Moving, and if you havem't used these guys before, you have sorely missed out on a fantastic moving experience. more

Moving is always a physical and emotional trauma so we expected the worst. Instead, AB Moving delivered the best - the best in service, attentiveness and price! Eddie and his crew - Alec and Estaban - were top notch. They finished the entire job, in and out and in, in a mere six hours. Everything was handled gently, wrapped thoroughly, and treated with great respect. David, who was the sales person and liaison, was also a pleasure to deal with I don't hand out endorsements indiscriminately. more

I can't think of enough nice things to say about these guys. I moved from one studio apartment to another (from Dallas to Ft Worth) in April and they sent three movers to make it happen (Eddie and two other guys). This move was the second time that I hired AB Moving. They are very upfront about the costs (which I think are competitive, but to be honest I didn't shop around much). I used AB Moving for my move a couple weeks ago to move my home. My husband and I were very pleased with the professional and courteous way the movers acted. The move went so fast!! I would definitely use them again and recxcommend them to all my friends and family! more

I have used numerous moving companies in the past, and have had some very bad experiences. But when I used AB Moving for my most recent residential move, they did a fantastic job! The movers were very curteous and polite, and they moved all of my belongings with out so much as a single scratch! I was very pleased at the pace they worked at, which was quick and efficient, however they were still able to be very careful and accomodating. I would highly recommend this company if you need moving help, as they do exceptional work! more

They sent out three men in a big box truck. The crew was fast and friendly. The price was very good. All in all I think they did a good job considering I move every six months it went very well and I will use them again. more

**BUYER BEWARE!!** AB Moving was hired to handle a small residential move. Upon their arrival to my home this morning, I asked if they offered insurance. The one mover that spoke English called the office and I was informed that they did and it would be an additional $75. I agreed to the amount and requested any paperwork outlining what was covered and I was informed they didn't have anything on hand. I have purchased insurance before from other moving companies and I typically receive info on a customer's rights - this was not made available to me on this move. One of the movers walked up to a large art sculpture I have and pulled it away from the wall from it's upper left corner. I immediately asked him to please not touch that piece in front of the other two movers. As he spoke very little English, I have no idea if he understood me but I assumed he did as he backed away from the piece. After almost completing the move, I had a business call come in on my cell and during the call I heard a splintering sound behind me -- they had tried to pick up the sculpture and broke the upper left corner in the same area where it had been pulled away from the wall by the mover. I was horrified. After requests to not touch that piece, they handled it anyway and broke it. It's valued at $12,000 minimum as seen on the artist's site at: http://www.possobonsculptures.com/gal_fw011_search4tomorrow.html Working with the 3 of them, we gingerly got the piece lying on it's back in the middle of the living room carpet. Upon completing the move, I contacted the specialty art installer and informed them of the situation. They have declined to move the piece since it has now been damaged. I've contacted the artist who informed me that this piece, IF it can even be repaired will now no longer be an original as it's been damaged and has lost it's value. AB Moving company requested that I send the details to the owner via email (abmoving@msn.com). I complied and explained what happened and received a brief email reply saying their insurance limit was $0.60 a pound. I then phoned them and the owner, Kenny Baker answered and he said that his company does NOT provide insurance and he has no idea who his movers called to say I would be covered for $75. When I asked him about his email reply regarding the coverage by pound, he started talking in circles. He also said he doesn't take responsibility for his employees / independent contractors / subcontractors that represent his company. They are unwilling to assist me in finding a professional art mover to transport this piece before Sunday, 1 July 07; they are unwilling to crate and ship the piece back to the artist for possible repair (even though with the repair it has now lost it's value). They, and their representatives, sold me moving insurance but then reneged on saying it was available once the damage occurred. They demanded to be paid in cash. They are unwilling to provide any assistance to alleviate this situation. **BUYER BEWARE!!** more

We contracted with A B Moving, 604 N. Central Expy, suite B, Allen Tx 75013, a member of Service Magic, to move the entire contents of our house from Dallas to Conroe Tx on @/13/2007. A B Moving loaded all of our belongings except a small grand piano on to their trucks and then refused to move the piano, a clear breach of their contract with us. We insisted that they move the piano but they refused to and also refused to return our belongings to us unless we paid them $425, which we were forced to do. Subsequently, Kenny Baker, the president of A B moving , admitted that his employee, the job estimator, had make an error but he not only refused to return the $425 to us, but further stated "I know where you live and I am coming to beat you up". We request that Service Magic either remove A B moving from membership and warn other potential customers of A B Moving's extortion and threats. Thank You, Richard and Anne Srebro more

It is a very nice and reliable moving company. I have used them a couple of time and i was completely satisfied with the. The employees ware very helpful and took good care of my furniture.They do local and long distance moving, and are licensed and insured. you can visit them on line or call their number because they really are a great local moving company and are extremely friendly. I will recommend them. more
