930 Sushi Llc

We've been to 930 several times over the past 2 yrs or so. and i love their food. its truly wonderful. but in the past 6 months or so either we're hitting them at a bad time, or something is going dreadfully wrong. the first incident a waiter dumped a glass of red wine all over the front of my white shirt. i was upset, of course, the owner apologized and got me a new glass of wine. (??) and then charged me for both glasses at the end of the night. he didnt even offer to pay to clean the shirt, albeit it was ruined. but it wasnt a cheap shirt. the next time we went.. it was packed as usual. and the owner says 'oh you dont want to wait that long.. you should try a different restaurant.' weird.. but ok. the LAST time we went there.. and i do mean LAST.. the owner took our name and then sat 2 couples ahead of us. so sorry! i thought i already sat you !!.. Accidents happen, i know that. but when they do, i expect someone (owner) to at least try to make up for it in some way.. am i wrong?? doesnt matter now. i wont go back. theres a new sushi to DIE for right down the street....... if the owner treats everyone as he has treated us.. i'm guessing the rest of you will find it too. I took my friend here for her birthday 2-11-08 and they were just fabulous! I have gone here before for the sushi and it's always good, but for my friend's b-day they were wonderful. Andrew was so nice. He took the cupcakes I had brought and secretly put a candle on and they came out and sang to my friend. It was perfect. This place is tiny so it's a challenge to be sneaky. They pulled it off. I highly recommend this sushi restaurant. more

We've been to 930 Sushi several times. It is our favorite Sushi restaurant and we've been to many. The sushi chefs are friendly, as well as talented. The atmosphere is casual, yet intimate. The owner is always on site and is wonderful. I would rate them the absolute best in Presentation. They have some very unique and cool ways to present the sushi. We are always surprised. The service is always premium as well, along with friendly and efficient. The MD Roll is great, but try the 930 roll, dynamite roll, and seared yellowtail with jalapeno. They also offer a ""sushi wine"" that goes well with sushi. more

This is a great place to just hang out for food or just drinks, my wife and I just ate there for the first time. The Sushi was great! We've been to many different places in the OC area, and this is it. The menu has a wide variety, the desserts are great. I recommend the Tempura Friend Bannanas, the 930 Special, the MD roll. Everything we had was perfect! The only complaint that I would have is that some of the portions were too big to eat in one bite! We went on Friday for our date and made a reservation at 7 PM and got there a little earlier and it was fairly busy but we were sat quickly. And from a magazine recommendation, we tried the 930 Special roll and the M-D roll plus our every sushi restaurant choice of the spicy tuna roll and they were DELICIOUS! So good that we ordered another 930 Special (it's wrapped in cucumber - watching the carbs). Then we did dessert, tempura banana and vanilla ice cream - so simple but so good. A good balance of tastes in one sitting. Of course as we ate, the place was packing it in. By time we left, there were so many people that you could see the door. So make reservations and get there early. Fun, beautiful, friendly, and most importantly - good food! more

930 Sushi has it all, the ambience, excellent sushi, and the wait staff is very helpful and friendly. I have tried going to other places in the area, and the sushi just isn't as fresh and flavorful as 930. The candles in the restaurant make it a great date place, too. Up until recently, it's been a secret spot for just the locals, but now more and more people are finding out about it, so be sure to make a reservation if you go! Yum. more
