I do not even know WHERE to start! If you want the skinny: many excessively priced fines, shitty living standards, ALL furniture is cheap IKEA material, shitty management, pool constantly closed, there is no gym, a lot of COPS/police sweeps, you have a limit of friends you can text in to the pool or apartment. BETTER OFF AT THE DOMAIN or somewhere else. Security at the VUE consists of FAT, loser, want-to-be cops checking every floor for noise so that they can call the real police. The security patrol the parking garage entrance so that residents can't ""sneak in"" guest(s) that are not checked in. They also monitor the balconies overlooking the parking lot for people, lights, music, and items being intentionally or accidentally thrown down. They are in charge of handling the line at the front, observing the balconies at the front of the building, and help with checking in guest. The VUE has perfected it's text-in system--allowing each resident to only text in FIVE guest. Unlike other apartment security personnel, the security at the VUE are NOT your friends, they constantly call the police to break up parties/get-togethers in apartments (I have multiple dispatch call logs from Tempe PD to prove so), they harass everyone they just let in, they monitor balconies, they check stairways and every hall way for people with open containers, drunks, and noise. Even if it is just you and your roommates blasting music, you will be visited by security and/or police will be called. I once witnessed a SWAT team called in because of these idiots--thank god they're not armed. The VUE has horrible management, which is why they obtained a new general manager to start off 2012--result: they have become more strict, and Tempe PD has become more involved. Apartments (can be a guest, does not matter who does it) caught throwing ANY thing off their balcony are charged $1000. If a guest leaves your apartment last & gets caught vomiting or spilling their drink anywhere, it's a $250 fine. The cost for stolen/lost keys is $270. If a resident ever needs something from the office, half the time the leasing office (usually 6 or more employees ""working"" at once) is busy looking at their computer screens, shuffling through papers, or joking/talking with each other. The leasing manager Nicole Mease is most questionable and often times has an attitude (of course after you sign your lease)--she can be checked out on http://thedirty.com/2012/02/nicole-the-leasing-bish/. If you already signed your lease, see if anyone can take your place and get out of it while you can! If you do not believe these review, do not forget that TEMPE PD will practically live here weekend nights especially at the beginning of Fall & Spring Semester--in fact there is many ""undercover"" officers who ride the elevators, stand outside the VUE, and walk the halls of the VUE (something allowed by management obviously) with breathalyzers, handcuffs, and citations ready at hand. more

Daughter's Favorite Apartment 7/13/2010

We did a very thorough apartment search for my daughter after her freshman year at ASU. She was very anxious to get out of the dorms. We must have looked at every apartment complex, but finally decided on The Vue. I liked the in unit laundry since I thought that meant she would bring less home :) She loved the pool deck, which was amazing! I never had a more fun Mother's Day than when we relaxed here all day and used the BBQ grills and fire pit! What I appreciate the most is that she is so close to campus. She can just walk to class without needing a car or to take the rail. I also know she is safe! The building has security cameras and a locked entry. The maintenance and management office is located right in the building so whenever she has a problem they are very close and quick! My husband is in real estate law and looked over their lease with a fine-toothed comb. It's very standard and we felt comfortable signing. They made the whole process so easy! The apartments themselves are VERY nice. The parking is pretty expensive so prepare yourself for that! But like I said, it's so close to the campus that you don't even need a car. We just like her to have one so she can come home for holidays and long weekends. Hope this helps! Pros: Location, pool deck, on-site management Cons: pricey, but worth it more
