88 Keys Music Studio

My daughter has been a student at 88 Keys for nearly four years. I have never had a bad experience with management or any of the teachers at the Studio. My daughter has received numerous awards for her talent thanks to the level of instruction she has received at 88 keys. I find it very amusing that the negative comments on this site started after an employee left 88 keys. If this is the type of employee that was employed by 88 keys, I am GLAD he is no longer there.( We should all teach our children better than to think it is OK to use the internet as a negative tool.) I would highly recommend 88 Keys to anyone looking to give their children the gift of music in a positive, professional, fun atmosphere.... and the last time I checked, I was paying for MUSIC lessons, not DECORATING lessons.... This discussion thread represents the best and worst of the internet. Anyone can get on here and defame a business or person and they don't include their name and hide behind the anonymity of the internet. It sounds like one bad incident with an instructor has led to a lot of bashing of a business that has given some outstanding instruction to hundreds of young and aspiring musicians. I have only had positive experiences with 88 Keys. I find them very professional and caring about the students and parents they serve. Their services and fees seem to be in line with other musical services available in the market. I would suggest that commentors read the User Review Guidelines before making a vicious, attacking review in the future. CitySearch should remove these comments that violate their guidelines listed under Unacceptable Content. Have the courage to let the owner and instructors of 88 Keys to address your concerns in person rather than hiding behind the internet. My two older children took piano lessons at this studio several years ago. The lessons were fine, but the prices kept going up. My husband started pointing out that our bills were incorrect and we had been double charged a few times. I never said anything, but withdrew my children from the lessons after it happened a few times. Now I am looking for drum lessons for my pre-teen son, and I came across these reviews when I looked up the studio. Looks like I wasn't so paranoid after-all. I wish I would have said something back then, maybe it would have helped to prevent these current issues. Pros: piano teachers were ok Cons: high prices and double-charging more

I caught the band of students this studio has at a local festival. They weren't very good, I felt sorry for them, but my son was still interested in the program. We even stopped by to see the band. I looked up the studio on-line to get more info and found these reviews. My neighbor had said there were some "issues" going on with this place, but this is absurd. I won't be taking any lessons from this place, at least not until they get this stuff straightened out. more

I think I know what happened with those poor teachers mentioned below. I "googled" 88 keys music studio, and scrolled down to the "rip-off report". That studio should be ashamed. No wonder I had a bad feeling about this place! more

Read the earlier reviews, they are more dead-on. This place is horrible! Lame teachers, TERRIBLE studio band, over-priced lessons, unprofessional treatment of customers, really ugly decor (to say the least), and a nasty owner (she probably wrote those positive reviews below). My children have been enrolled at 88 keys music studio for 3 years. We love everyone there. My children have excelled at their instruments as well as self confidence outside of the studio. The staff are dedicated to making my children excited about what they are learning, and schedule regular performances to allow them to show off their skills. We were also affected by the loss of the mentioned teacher. 88 Keys Music Studio were very professional when addressing this unexpected situation. We were not contacted by the teacher at all, and had been his student for over a year. 88 Keys treated us like family. The replacement teacher is awesome and we highly recommend 88 Keys to anyone who is looking to learn. Pros: Treated as family, exceptional instruction, perfomance opportunities Cons: None more

I was very sad to read the comments concerning this studio. Our Son, who plays guitar, did have a teacher that left the studio, but the professionlism of the studio in how they handeled the transition was wonderful. My Son loves his new teacher. This studio offers many opportunities for the kids. I have been with this studio for three years. I am very pleased with the instruction and the attention the working staff gives to my Son and my family. We will be signing our other two kids up this fall for piano and drum! Pros: They are very good about rescheduling lessons when a class needs to be missed. more

It took me a while to find a music studio in the Pickerington area, once I did I enrolled my son in drum lessons at 88 Keys. He loved his teacher and thoroughly enjoyed every lesson. I was surprised when I received a call from the studio and was told that the teacher would be leaving soon and another guy would be sitting in on the lessons until then. The owner was extremely rude to me when I questioned her. I mentioned this new arrangement to my son's teacher, and he had no idea what I was talking about. It is apparent how unprofessional she is towards her employees and her clients. I want my family to have nothing to do with her business. Too bad I?m stuck in another 4 week contract. My son is going to really miss his teacher. more

I would never recommend this company to anyone. My child was in guitar lessons (actually really liked the teacher), then when we wanted to stop lessons after some bad situations occurred internally, they would not let me out of my contract, saying I had to pay for another month of lessons even though they switched teachers on us. It was obvious they only cared about money and not what my child was learning. DRAMA. Stay away from this place, or bring your lawyer. Pros: Good guitar teacher, but he doesn't work there anymore. I enrolled my daughter into piano lessons a couple years ago with 88 Keys Music Studio and we have been very satisfied with the teacher and the high level of instruction. She is motivating and pushes only when she believes my child can be pushed. We highly recommend this studio. We have had times when we have had to miss lessons and they are always good about making these lessons up or applying a credit to our next months invoice. It is also a convenience to have the music given to you at the studio and you are not responsible for going to a music store and picking the music up yourself. We are very pleased. more
