5 Star Dog Resort

Five Star really is home away from home for our dogs. Before we discovered Five Star, my husband and I were unable to take vacations because we just couldn't trust anyone with our dogs (nor could anyone handle our dogs). Not only do we have three large dogs, but two of them had behavioral issues when we rescued them. We sent our dog Roman through the 2-week boot camp and the training has forever changed our lives, but more importantly, Roman's life. The owner and trainer, Darrin, also worked with our German Shepherd mix and helped her to overcome her fears. Aside from the incredible experience we had with the training, we absolutely love the boarding facility. It is always clean and doesn't smell at all like a kennel. They also offer different types of rooms, as well as extra playtime sessions at a very reasonable price. Our hound mix really loves the indoor/outdoor suite that is offered, so we are at ease knowing that she has the option to go outside and enjoy the fresh air whenever she pleases. Lastly, I have to mention the staff at Five Star. Darrin is truly gifted at training, and he has also hired a very friendly and compassionate staff. Stephanie is one of our favorites and she is always so understanding when we call to check on our dogs...and we call often. Since we found Five Star, my husband and I have been able to enjoy many vacations and we always know that our dogs are in great hands! For us, Five Star truly deserves five stars!!! more

When this place first opened I was excited because it was very close to where I live, but after stopping in and getting a tour of the entire facility from the owner (Darrin) I felt very comfortable leaving my Welsh w/ Darrin and his staff. They have a true passion for animals and it shows as soon as you walk in the door. The rooms where the dogs stay are roomy and exceptionally clean (no strange odors). The runs are large as is the outside play area the dogs get to use as well. My dog Bailey is going up on Thursday to get groomed by Kristina for his Christmas cut. Overall: great place, friendly and knowledgable staff and and great grooming..... Check it out for yourself! more

Very close and convenient hours for drop off and pick up. We have been going there for 1 1/2 years and the entire staff truly knows my dog very well. They take great care of him - which makes it so much easier for me to leave him knowing he is being loved in a clean environment. My dog will not stay anywhere else! more

Five Star has a passion for pets. The grooming service is top quality. I actually travel a great distance to her because I know of the quality of service, and wouldn't trust my dogs with no other. We have boarded our puppy with Five Star three times and will be boarding her a fourth time for summer vacation. We visited and researched a number of other facilities before deciding to give Five Star a try. They are always friendly and have been very accomodating. The facility is very clean and doesn't have the over powering pet smell you experience at other facailities. The boarding spaces are very roomy and they have indoor and outdoor play areas if you elect to have play time for your dog. \r \r We recently had her groomed there as well after trying a couple of other groomers. The lady asked us how we wanted her cut and how much we wanted cut off and she actually listened to us. By far this was the best grooming our dog has had.\r \r Five Star truly lives up to it's name. I had my Havanese groomed here and not only was she beautiful but I felt good about the conditions and the people I was leaving her with. I was given a complete tour pf the resort and it was exceptionally clean and the dogs there seemed quite happy and wll taken care of. I will definitely return as a happy client. We love the Five Star Dog Resort. When we checked out the resort, it was very clean, and the staff extremely helpful. We have been there ever since walking in that day. Our dogs are so excited to go there. Daren is excellent with the dogs, a true dog lover. Kristina is a wonderful groomer, the best ever. The only place we would leave our dogs. Several years ago we lost our beloved pet at a Kennel in Marietta (they were electrocuted). We lost all trust in kennels until we found Five Star Dog Resort. When you first visit you get a tour of the entire facility. The rooms are great (with cots), huge running yard and indoor/outdoor runs. I would never keep my dogs anywhere else but Five Star. Two of my dogs are maltese and are difficult to groom. I also use Five Star groomers which are the best we have ever had.\r The name Five Star says it all. Daren and his staff are exceptional, they are ""dog people"". Cooper has gone through two weeks of in-board training and Darbie has gone through one week. They both were trained and preformed as promised. Most impressive was the time Daren took to work with me and the dogs when they were picked up. Neither one came home stressed and Cooper seemed eager to go back for his second week of training. I immediately gained control of them on-leash and in general, they listen and obey commands off-leash. I highly recommend Five Star Dog Resort! The only way for us to go away is to have a place like Five Star. We have no family close by, so this is my dog's home away from home that is actually close by to our home. It is clean, friendly and small enough that your pet gets treated with care. She also gets her grooming needs taken care of there now. We used to go elsewhere for boarding and for grooming, but she gets more personal attention @ Five Star. They treat your pet the way you do, they don't just treat it like a business, it is more like a family taking care of your pet, while she/he is there. So glad they came to our area:). To think that we found the place just by driving by is a miracle. We have used 3 other boarding facilities and had never found the right match for us until now. The dogs are always excited about getting there. It is clean and well maintained. The staff is always very helpful and courteous. Although I have never used the training program, I will be looking into that this summer. The grooming/bath and nail clipping that I have had done has always been top notch. \r I have no worries when I am away that my babies are being well cared for.\r Kudos to Five Star. Darren trained my Weimy when he was a puppy. He did onsite training at our house. The experience was better than expected. We are always nervous when going on vacation because our dog has a nervous tummy. One kennel even called while we were on vacation because they didn't know what to do. This place will allow you to comfortably leave your worries behind. Not only do they love dogs, they actually know what they are doing! My dog will never stay at another kennel; he now stays at a 5 star resort! more

Our dogs were some of the first ""clients"" at 5-Star. My dogs are my babies and I am very hesitant to leave them in the hands of anyone else. However, I like the facilites at 5-Star and the owners genuinely care for their clients. After staying with 5-Star several times since their opening, I can honestly say that I would not choose any other boarding facility for my ""babies"". My family can leave town knowing that they are in good hands. \r I also recommend 5-Star for grooming as well. Our little shih-tzus require high-maintenance grooming and I feel like we have finally found a groomer who actually knows how to groom them the way I like! Pros: Facility, employees, location more

My 2 dogs stay here when I have to leave them & I know I do not have to worry about them. They are always well cared for, fed good food, & exercised. Santa brought us a new yellow lab for Christmas. We knew she would have a great deal of energy and would need to work that off, and also have some obedience training as well. We checked out the Five Star Resort. I first noticed how clean it was. It SMELLS clean! The owner has over 17 years of dog training as well. We are always greated with smiles, because these people are passionate about what they do. The love dogs. Training has been a dream. Probably more challenging for the owners that for our puppy! We now receive compliments all the time on her behavior. I would recommend, and I do recommend whenever asked this business. I would not go anywhere else. Piped in music for the dogs, filtered water, covered play area outside w/ wading pool for play. Large roomy suites, not kennels. All good stuff for the demanding dog owner! I've been taking my pups to Five Star since they were\r 8 weeks old. They are now 8 months and love to go there. They love Darren the Trainer as well as the staff.\r He has been training them with wonderful results. The best money I have ever spent was having him train my dogs. I do not feel guilty at all when I board them at Five Star because they treat them like family. If I can't take them with me I leave them with Darren and his staff.
