Worst Club 5/1/2010

jewelg hit the nail on this one!\r \r If there were better options in Lynnwood, I would leave in a split second. \r \r This place has so many faults, I don't know where to begin! The staff, for the most part, is quite unfriendly and unprofessional. I believe, I have come across possibly 2 employees that I enjoy seeing and make me feel welcome. The others, will hardly greet you with a smile. The manager is unprofessional and not willing to work with you. \r \r The cleanliness of this place is really lacking. The bathrooms are disgusting. I use the steam room out of neccessity and lack of any other options; however, I have to bring 2 additional towels to sit on and one to wrap myself in, I refuse to let any part of my body touch anything in there. The pool, I have never and will never, step foot in there. The showers have mold growing in them, the water is luke warm at best, and the ground is always obviously dirty, like it hasn't been mopped in weeks. \r \r There is a HUGE lag time when machines are being ""fixed."" \r \r The classes are so-so, nothing too exciting or new and the instructors are not the best. \r \r Oh & parking is horrendous. The lot is just too small for the size of the gym and the traffic it gets. \r \r Overall, there are better gyms, I come here for the convenience and nothing else. Pros: Convenient Cons: Dirty, unprofessional more

Worst gym I've ever been to 9/7/2009

I've been a member here for about 1.5 years. It's been one of those situations where you just start to get used to working out in a gym where the manager/owner/staff obviously have no sense of pride in their establishment. The bathrooms are disgusting, as is the pool/sauna area (you couldn't pay me to swim in that pool...) The staff are generally unfriendly. The clientele in general is not the type I would choose to associate with on a regular basis. If we had better options in Lynnwood, I would leave in a second. Pros: location, classes Cons: dirty, outdated equipment, gross bathrooms/pool/sauna more

Worst gym in Lynnwood 5/4/2009

I'll start by saying the staff at this gym are the nicest, coolest employees ever. The manager on the other hand is quite the opposite. I only gave one star because I couldn't choose ZERO.\r This is the dirtiest gym I have ever been to in my life. They have less than half the machines that LA fitness has. You always have to wait for a treadmill because of all the people who go their after work, which is also why you can never find a parking space. The men's bathroom smells worse than an outhouse. If the Lynwood 24 hour fitness had a visit from corporate they would almost certainly fail their inspection. This location also has full court gym, but don't plan on getting your hoop on unless you can with stand the smell which would put an ""Amistad slave ship"" to shame. They allow non-paying members to use their gym. Try to shoot around on a side hoop and you are likely to become the latest victim of a saggy shorts wearing punk who is likely to shoot you on your way to your car in the parking lot with his ""posse"" I don't think even 50 cent would feel safe here, even with his bullet proof vest on. After 4 months of membership I looked into other gyms. I would rather pay more for a gym that is out of my way than ever come here again. To make things worse I tried to cancel my membership. The manger informed me that I would have to pay an additional $90. Cancelling your member ship requires 30 days advance notice. After 30 days your ""last"" month that they make you pay when you sign up kicks in. Today I tried to cancel and the manager told me she wasn't going to cancel my membership, and let it go delinquent.\r What a professional establishment.\r Pros: location Cons: Crowded, smells, lack of selectiosn with machines, more

Dirty and not worth the Money 1/8/2009

I just canceled my membership here after a year of being told that things were being fixed and would change. We complained about the lack of cleanliness in the changing rooms, bathrooms, and pool. We also complained about the temperature of the pool, which was always freezing. Nothing changed. My wife and I travel and have been to a number of other 24hrs around the country. They have all been much nicer than the Lynnwood location. On top of the dirty facilities there are a lot of broken machines. All around it is a pretty unkept place. With the exception of a couple of people, the staff is very friendly. My advice would be to find another place to work out if you can. Pros: Pool, cheap Cons: Cleanliness, updated and maintained machines, cold pool more

Thank God Its Cheap... 7/2/2008

I recently joined 24 hour in Lynnwood due to an unbeatable 0 to join, 22 a-month-membership. I had been to this gym before but must have forgotten how horrible the gym is kept. I attend about 4-5 times a week between the hours of 10pm-12am. I enjoy this time as its worked with my schedule in the past, and everything was always nice and orderly to help me breeze through my workout. Not 24 Lynnwood. This place is by far the worst kept gym in the area. I have been working out in gyms for over 20 years and this place seems to not even realize its running a gym. Its almost as if they bought stuff, set it up once and said ""Screw it, hopefully the members can keep up with the maintenance."" \r I don't have much experience with the day staff there, but there is a ""less-then-friendly"" night shift attendent who cares more about his computer then smiling to incoming customers. Sometimes I will wait in the car till he leaves the desk to scan my own card as he is that ""unapproachable"". \r The ""clientel"" is less then desirable as there are usually about 20 or so 18-24 year old guys playing pick up basketball that can be less then cordial when using the gym, of course I guess that comes with the area of Lynnwood. Needless to say, I keep an eye on my car as I hear not so pleasant stories about crime in the parking lot\r My biggest complaint however with 24 Hour Lynnwood is two things. One...not enforcing simple health code rules. No individual should be permitted in the gym with open toe'd shoes/sandals on. I see this everyday. It is not only gross, but a Health Code Violation. Second I also see a nice list of gym etiquette rules 24 has created, that goes uncheck. The worst is, (Please Wipe Down Machine) I have only 3 times gone to a spray bottle that should contain cleaner/disinfectant to clean off a machine that actually contains cleaner/disinfectant. This I feel goes back to the computer toting Night Door Man. Enjoy your YouTube while I enjoy my MRSA. Pros: Cheap if You get a good deal. Cons: Hygiene, Staff more

Good value for a cheap gym 1/3/2008

In response to the review from 2006, things have improved. They have a new maintenance guy who seems to care. They have new TVs but they aren't set up right (all stretched wide 480p) and yes you are stuck with 3 unchangeable channels. Membership $$ varies a lot, best time to join is the last days of a month when they are trying to get their numbers up. Some members pay $99 a year (after an initiation fee), others pay $45 a month (without a fee). The bad thing about some of the cheap memberships is getting sociopathic rough kids who don't care about others and trash the place. Weights aren't put back and garbage sits on the floor for a day or two. The locker rooms aren't cleaned well or often enough. The staff is friendly, the clientele is very mixed. Music varies too much so bring your ipod, sound system is tinny with irritating prerecorded announcements every 5 minutes. Good amenities for the price: swim, basketball, spinning, aerobics, sauna, steam, tub. Skip their 'pro shop' and walk across the street to the mall. Overall good energy most of the time. No musclehead trainers and few musclehead members, good or bad depending on your experience. Bottom line, it's a good deal if you get the $99 renewal, it's overpriced if you pay more than $25 a month. Pros: across from Alderwood Mall, good amenities, good energy most of the time Cons: can't change the 3 TV channels, bad sound system, dirty locker rooms more

24 hour fitness club 6/27/2007

well first off, i would like to say what the other guy just wrote is to narrow..Hes making it sound like every 24 hour fitness is not clean and has broken tvs, etc..The 24 hour fitness im at right now is wonderful. It has every equipment i have asked for and more. They have great trainers and the people are very friendly. Well my gym's people is very friendly, like i said any other 24 gym could be different. Theres some fine girls at my gym, and man o man that pumps up my testosterone for a better workout..lol. i think every gym will just be good..every gym will have about the same equipment, the real way to gain mass or lose fat is to be consist with your workouts. One of our machines was broken and it toke them about 3 days to get it repaired.. Thats fine with me, but i dont know how other people would respond to that. Think if it this way, maybe alot of people do prefer gold gym which just make it to crowdy and you have to wait for someone to finish a machine...( trust me i had a golds gym before) it makes your workout so much longer, and then i sined up for 24. and on mondays its crowded but other than that its not. It gets my workout done on time and i feel great, which in golds gym it was to crowded for me. ps.. all the tv in my 24 hour fitness works fine... my gym is located at lynnwood washington by loews theater... Pros: great machines, great people, parking and servive. basically you get things done. Cons: on my gym, on mondays it gets a little to crowded but other days are great. more

Machines and tv audio pieces out of order for months, tv's a joke, easy freeway access 12/24/2006

At first I loved this gym: looks nice in the inside, easy access (right off 1-5), fun atmosphere, lots of cardio equipment, friendly front desk people. Things have seriously deteriorated. Many machines are out of order and stay out of order for months. The little audio gadgets that are supposed to allow you to hear the tv's with your headphones don't work on many of the cardio machines. I've asked them to fix these problems for over a year and still nothing has been done. The tv's are a joke. I learned that corporate 24 refuses to buy satellite so you can never watch what you want on the tvs. There are 3 channels and management doesn't change them. I am seriously thinking of dropping my membership because I'm so sick of being forced to watch Jerry Springer, infomercials, and Judge Mathis! Cleanliness is also an issue because they don't supply any spray to wipe off equipment and I'm sure the work out mats have NEVER been cleaned in the 4 years the club has been open. This club has potential but as of right now, I'm looking at other gyms. Also, people have gotten their cars stolen from the parking lot (but this could be their own fault for not locking up their purses in the lockers). Pros: Easy Freeway Access, Staff Cons: Machines that don't work, televisions, cleanliness more
