The architectural design and aesthetic appeal of 20.21 are very in line with other Wolfgang restaurants (Spago, red seven) but, unfortunately, that's where the dining experience e...

We truly enjoyed this fine addition the the Minneapolis food scene back in it's hay day, great space and view, the Puck dining experience, and exceptional service...however, we left this Friday evening wondering if we would indeed be back. Sure, perhaps the food is the same, I say not as appealing now as the menu has become stayed..and yes the room is still loud..thats OK we grew to overlook that chaos..but tonights dinner service was way out the waters by any standard. \r \r Our server seemed completely indifferent as to our what we were expecting..and soon found wishing for...knowledge, grace, charm, and PROPER service, rather than the automated coldness that we recieved. We still hark back to your opening days..you had a fine staff on hand. One gentleman server in particular...Dennis, was outstanding..and made each experience the most it could possibly be..without fail. So we ask you Wolfgang, fully realizing that one component enhances the other, please bring back your service professionals and standards and utilize the others in perhaps your mall/airport settings. Perfectly executed dinner service may even cause one to believe that this room is worth a visit. Pros: view location Cons: service service service more

Odd ambiance, Fab food, Quick and Knowledgable Service 5/18/2007

The restaurant is a little odd...cafeteria-style chairs, long narrow room, pretty noisy--but a wall of windows over looking the cathedral. We got drinks quickly at the bar, and our server was AWESOME. She was very attentive to our large group, and made helpful suggestions on wine, cocktails and food. The potstickers and ahi tuna appetizers were amazing. The duck was very good, and the lobster rissoto was incredible! We all left fat and happy! Pros: Delicious food, Impeccable Service Cons: Bit noisy, odd tables and chairs more

Variety at a Price 11/20/2006

I met a friend for brunch and arrived early to have an incredible view of Minneapolis at a window-side seat. A mimosa, bellini or orange juice were included in the rather hefty price. There was a nice variety of the usual egg dishes, waffles and sides with two specials thrown into the mix. They were nice to try, but I don't generally crave fish on a Sunday morning (or any morning for that matter). Good selection of desserts that go nicely with their excellent cup of bottomless coffee. Atmosphere was great, the weight staff was friendly and attentive. It's rather quiet so it may not be the place to share stories of the previous night's exploits. Great place to bring a friend from out of town; the good food and beautiful surroundings are a nice treat. Pros: all about the ambience Cons: a little pricey but treat yourself more

Food is as unique as the venue 11/9/2006

Very small dining area with not much to look at unless you are in the window - although it doesn't matter when the food is this good. (Almost like sitting in an eat-in galley kitchen). Food has a great new new take on Asian flavors. Have had the miso salmon a couple of times which is excellent the first time, too salty the second. Try the beet and goat cheese salad/starter and don't miss the signature chocolate cube and cherry (Spoonbridge & Cherry dessert) -it's fabulous and beautiful. Great place to bring a group, with extremely attentive service. Pros: Food & Service is consistently exceptional Cons: can be quite loud when dining room is full more

Always a favorite! 11/8/2006

20.21 - although not the newest restaurant in town, is still a favorite! The food is ALWAYS amazing and the service is great! Go with a group or on a date! Always request to be by the windows if possible - the best table is the large round table right by the window - and the views of the city are best at night. more

An easy match for NYC, High End dining experience 9/8/2006

We had 6 travelled / sophisticated palates at dinner and all were very satisfied. Service was truly excellent with a visit from Chef Scott to round off a great wait staff. One of the best items was complimentary app from the kitchen, a stunner of a Sushi grade Tuna mixture encircled by a homemade peppered ice cream cone styled cracker wrap. For the most part we stayed with the very fresh fish, both Asian Styled and the fab Butter fish. The Short Ribs melted in your mouth, but not quite as flavorful as our friends at D'Amico's. Desserts, the chocolate cherry spoon and fruit tarts were also quite tasty. Pros: Service, Quality and Creativity of the food. Cons: Limited Wine Cellar Selections. more

A Horrid cafeteria looking closet 3/31/2006

20.21...All the hype and nothing to back it up. It was so awful to look at- initially, I thought this must not be the right place!? It looks like a tiny cafeteria in an art gallery, but without any artistic qualities. ""You've got to be kidding Wolfgang! Stick with the pizza!"" A 20 or 21 on an 100 point scale. Pros: Partial view Cons: Everything else..., Rude staff, uncomfortable setting more

20.21 enhances the Twin Cities 3/20/2006

I've been there for brunch and have already planned on attending again--for $25 it is one of the best brunches you can get in town, not to mention the great mimosas and peach bellinis. The food is consistently prepared using good quality ingredients with an asian focus--the chicken chinois salad is fabulous and freshly prepared. It's also a signature item. If you're looking for comfortable chairs (which shouldn't be the first and foremost concern for any foodie), this isn't your place--but there isn't a bad view in the house. Window table or not, the setting is intimate and the service is splendid. I don't try places twice unless they are great the first time around--this place only makes the Twin Cities look better in a time when chain restaurants are ruining the restaurant scene. Pros: Food, Service Cons: Limited space more

Well worth trying for a special treat 3/16/2006

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner experience at 20.21. The food was delicious (try the butterfish!) and the service was excellent. Our waitress was extremely attentive. We were a little early for our reservation and much to my surprise they seated us right away. The tables and chairs, and the ambience in general, was okay, but not bad (it's a little crowded, the decor is sparse), but that was completely ignored when the food started to come. Everything I put in my mouth, including the water - seriously, was top-notch. It's an expensive treat, but totally worth it. Pros: Parking, Service Cons: Too warm, Sparse decor more

I guess...I wouldn't know... 2/10/2006

I thought that this would be a great place to spend our Valentines Day (considering I am out of town the following week). Upon our arrival we were immediately greeted which was the highlight of the experience. I had made a reservation in advance to be seated next to the window. When I asked if this request had been met, the Maitre'd responded that they cannot accommodate such requests and that ""these tables are to accommodate for those that have a party of four"". The chairs felt similar to a high school cafeteria. I stepped away and once again politely asked if we could be seated at the table behind us which was not being used. She responded ""We're sorry but we cannot do that for you"". I responded by leaving. To those that expect service, please look elsewhere. Pros: Heated Parking Cons: Service, Ambience more
