Discovered this place on last nite and was excited to have BBQ in the local area. My bf and I were not very happy with the food nor the price. The food was only ok and the special sauce for the ribs were watered down. The dry rub, rubbed my mouth wrong with every bite. We had the short ribs and baby backs. There menu gives 2 free sides, but the signature sides cost extra, such as a backed potatoe which is evene xtra-xtra. If you want BBQ, I have had Big Mama's in Belleville. I haven't found a better place yet. Pros: Good Sit Down Atmosphere Cons: The Food and its cost more

Almost Memphis 1/17/2009

I've had truly incredible BBQ three times in my life. Twice it was in Memphis. The third, believe it or not, was in O'Fallon, IL. I ordered the king of all BBQ meats, the baby back ribs. The half rac k is very reasonably priced (about $12 or $13 if I remember correctly) and it comes with two sides of your choice. The food arrived very quickly and was absolutely delicious. The ribs fell off the bone and had a nice light char on the edges. There are two signature sauces at the table. I prefer the lighter colored one that won the owner, who has been featured on the food network, several world BBQ championships. There is also a shaker full of a dry rub they call ""magic dust"" at the table that goes great with the meat, fries, potato salad, or probably anything else you could think to put it on. The place is much more clean and comfortable than many might expect out of a BBQ joint. I can't think of anything bad to say about this place.\r \r If ""BBQ Paradise"" comes on the Food Network, check it out. 17th Street is featured in the last segment of the show. Pros: GREAT Ribs, Large sides, Great value, clean and comfortable Cons: Nada more
