10th Street Station Reception

I could not believe the previous review...I did not experience a single one of those things. We were looking for a reception hall that could accommodate for 300+ guests. I wanted both quality and professional service, and that was no where to be found in Indiana, PA. So when we found the 10th Street, I couldn't have been more happy. The hall is gorgeous with hardwood flooring and beautiful architecture and lighting. The price was more than reasonable and the owner was willing to help accommodate us in areas we weren't sure about. The staff is beyond professional and friendly. I met up with the owner a year in advance and even only a day after Christmas. When we showed up, he had the hall set up and was entirely professional. He answered every one of my phone calls at any moment I needed him throughout the next year. He recommended linen companies and ways of arranging the room. He did anything I had asked of him. When we showed up on our wedding day, I was just in total awe of how beautiful it looked. Our guests were so comfortable and pleased with the service and to this day cannot stop talking about the gem we found in Ford City. Their staff serviced our 250 guests within an hour with no congestion or problems. There are also so many little things that the 10th Street does to go above and beyond that they definitely don't need to. For example, they have surround sound, they do a spotlit entrance, and they even bring in a pianist or guitarist for cocktail hour (free of charge). When we left the reception hall, they took care of clean up and had our food, cake and decorations boxed up, on carts and ready to go. It made cleaning up a breeze for our families. Our wedding was such a success because of the professionalism and friendliness of the 10th Street Station staff, as well as the overall charming and beautiful nature of the hall. I recently had my wedding there, we had about 270 people. The service was horrible! They are very had to get a hold of, it took usually 2 days to get a phone call back (even the week of the wedding). We couldn't get in to decorate until 2 the day before (not enough time when you have a rehersal). They wouldn't let the dj in to set up the day before. When we orginally talked to them they promised lots of things told us they could do lots of things for us. Then they started to add costs for these things near the wedding, ex. for the cookies it was $100. Just to have them put them out! Veggie Tray $1.50 per person Cheese Ball $1.50! I thought that was all high. We asked if we could bring our own in they said no (except with the cookies). They promised fast food service (1 server per 4 tables) it took over 1 1/2 hour to serve everyone!! You must tear down decorations that night or they throw them away! Just not a good experiece. We were to be down at 11 they asked to dj to quite at 10:45! I fell in love with the place, but not reccommed it to anyone. Not worth all the hidden charges and all the head aches not getting questions answered for 2 days after the call. Good Luck!!
