Review content:
My Aunt recently passed. We needed to find a moving company to pack, move and distribute the furniture and keepsakes she left behind, from her West Side Apartment. The items were going to 3 places: my apartment on the Upper East Side; my Brother's home in Larchmont and the remainder to my Sister's place in Syosset. 4 companies came over for quotes. Of those, we were most impressed with Liberty Moving & Storage. They were priced in the mid-to-high range, but they made us feel confident that they could do a better job than the others. Their "can-do" attitude and attention to detail convinced us to go with them. Because Liberty has been in business for 70 years, we assumed that they must know their business. The move was scheduled for the following week. On move day there was a snag, which worried me. We were scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m., but they had trouble parking the truck. The guys apologized for the delay and did not start the clock until 9:30 a.m. We were on a tight schedule and the crew went immediately to work. They packed everything well, padded our antiques, covered our upholstered pieces in plastic and loaded everything into the truck in 4 1/2 hours. The men worked through lunch because of the tight timeframe. My things were delivered to my place before my building's 4:30 p.m. deadline, then the crew drove to Westchester and unloaded my Brother's things in Larchmont. The Syosset delivery was done later that evening. The job went very well and our final bill was 9% under budget, which was a nice surprise. There was 1 minor damage to a table leg, but we had taken insurance and Liberty took care of it without a fuss. Rich T. was my salesman. The lady who set up our appointment was Lucy and the Driver's name was Carlos. All were very professional and did a wonderful job. It was nice to get what we paid for and Liberty certainly delivered on all fronts. I would use them again without hesitation and recommend them highly. Pros: Solid company with great people. Cons: Arrived late. No other negative comments.
