Businiess name:  University Of Michigan Credit Union
Review by:  James L.
Review content:
Every September local banks purchase mountains of tshirts, frying pans, or even toaster ovens to hand out to entice students to sign up for accounts. Once an account is established, the banks know that the hassle of creating a new account and closing an old one all but assures that they will keep their new customers for at least a year. Aside from Bank of Ann Arbor, which does not offer the no fee checking accounts (for low balances) that most students need, the University of Michigan Credit Union offers the best service in Ann Arbor. Their branches do not have long lines and their rates on savings accounts are higher than the local average (although not as high as some of the online banks). If the Credit Union installed a few more ATMs around campus, it would be the perfect choice for all students. In it's current form, if you don't mind walking a ways to get cash, it's a great place to keep your money.
