Simply Splendid Donuts and Ice Cream is truly the premier donut shop in Houston and will soon be throughout Texas! I can honestly say that I have never been to a donut shop that made me feel as if I were in Paris eating the best kolache and forgetting about all the stuff I have going on. When I walked in the smell of fresh baked bread greeted me at the door, then I further awed at the decor, style and layout, the overall feeling that you get while there is one of ?home sweet home.?
As I sat there speaking to the owner, Danny Klam, I observed that he has a genuine relationship with his customers, almost as if he has known them his entire life. He and his family have created delicious donuts, kolaches, lunch items and many more great tasting items, they also have a positive rapport with their customers, but more importantly they recognize the needs of the community and provide non-profit organizations with their scrumptious products and monetary donations.
This company deserves an award and a around of applause! I am really proud of you Danny Klam and of everything you have achieved, keep up the awesome job and that UH COUGAR Spirit?GO COOGS!!!
Pros:
Freshness: Hot right out of the oven, you will swoon !
Lightness: The texture is just right!
Moistness: The kolache was absolutely perfect, not dry or mushing in your hands!
Greasiness: As little oil or none was used, great for keeping figures!
Balance: The ratio between dough and glaze, toppings, and/or filling was just right!
Quality: Are you kidding? The best tasting donuts and kolache I ever had!
